百日紅の根元に巻いた金網を外す

この網は外来種カミキリムシの害を防ぐため３月に百日紅の根元に巻きました。現在では繁殖期が過ぎたので、先日、この網を取りました。幹は成長するので、長い間、締め付けられましたが、解放されました。カミキリムシは子孫を繁殖すため根元にドリルで開けたような太い穴を掘るので、来春も網を巻きます。外来種カミキリは木材の中に潜んで日本に上陸したと考えられます。

I wrapped this wire net around the base of crape myrtle in March to prevent the harm of alien long-horned beetle species. Now breeding season has passed, so I took this wire net the other day. Since the trunk of crape myrtle grew, it was tightened for a long time, but it was released. Because the beetle digs a big hole like a drill at the root to propagate their offspring, I will wind the wire net next spring. I guess that the alien species longhorn lurked in wood and landed in Japan.
