近くの寺から毎年、藤の剪定を依頼される

　写真は今春、家の庭に咲いた藤です。昨日は近くの永泉寺という名の寺から境内にある藤の剪定を依頼されました。この寺は私の菩提寺ではありませんが、また、私は庭師でもありませんが、どういう訳か、毎年、依頼されます。このため昨日はブログを書く前に午前中、寺に行って剪定しました。藤の剪定方法は来春咲く蕾を残して余分な蔓を切り取ります。これで幹に養分が蓄えられます。お彼岸が近づくので境内をきれいにするのでしょう。

 This photo shows wisteria bloomed in my garden this spring. Yesterday, a nearby temple named Eisenji asked me to prune the wisteria in the precinct. This temple is not my temple, and I am not a gardener, but for some reason, I am asked every year to prune. So yesterday I went to the temple and pruned it in the morning before I wrote the blog. The pruning method of wisteria should cut off the extra vines, leaving the buds blooming next spring. This will save nutrients in the stem. The temple will clean the precinct as the autumnal equinox approaches.
