月面から日本列島を眺めた大きさを考える

　今宵は満月です。しかし、皆さん、月の上る方角が「仲秋の名月」のように東ではなく、南寄りになり東南東の方角に近いです。どうしてでしょうか。

　ところで、月面に日本列島があったら、どのくらいの大きさであるかを示したものです。月の直径は3,474 kmです。

　一方、稚内市から鹿児島市までの直線距離はおよそ１８００㎞です。これを考えると、写真の大きさになります。ということは、逆に、月から地球を見ると、日本列島はこの大きさに見えると想像できます。

　※月の出の方角について私の考えです。満月は、地球を間に入れて太陽と正反対の位置にあります。現在の日没の方角はおよそ西北西です。このため現在、月が出る方角はその正反対でおよそ東南東と考えます。
