植え木の手入れは楽しいことの一つ

　今年も残すところ４日です。昨日の午前中は比較的温かかったので大きくなったハクモクレンに梯子を架けて枝を切りました。これにより近くの花桃が来春から成長し、よく開花すると思います。樹木はそばに他の樹木があると成長が互いに阻害されます。ハクモクレンの枝は比較的やわらかくて切り易かったです。

　隣りの方が通りかかったので私が高い位置で木を切りながら挨拶したら、彼女は私がどこにいるか分からなかったようです。分かると「梯子から落ちないで下さいね。」と言ってくれました。今日は亡妻の命日。私は未だそちらへ行きたくありません。
