植物の育て方に共通する人間の教育

　７～８年前に前橋花木センターで手に入れたご覧の「源平しだれ桃」は、購入時の樹形のまま大きく成長し、毎春４月に紅白の花を開花させてます。これは植木職人が幼木のとき、観賞に値するように紐でしばり型を造りました。

　私はこの花桃を見て、植物の育て方は人間の教育に似てると感じてます。若木のときに余分な芽を摘み、良い方向に幹や枝を導けば、植物は見事な樹形に成長します。同様に、人間の場合も幼児期から青年期まで良い教育を授かれば、生涯に亘り、心身共に輝く人物に成長するでしょう。

　現在、私は種から生えた数本の幼木を、見よう見まねで幹をくねらせ育ててます。近未来は個性ある姿の花桃がたくさん開花すると予想してます。お近くの方は見にいらしてください。

 The "Bicolored weeping peach" that I bought at Maebashi Flower Center 7 or 8 years ago, has grown large with the same shape as at the time of purchase. The red and white flowers bloom every spring in April. A professional gardener made it worthy of appreciative shape with tying by strings when it was a seedling.

 Looking at this flower peach, I feel that the way of growing plants is similar to human's education. If we pick extra buds when it is a young tree and guide the stems and branches in the right direction, the plant will be raised a wonderful shape. Similarly, if humans have a good education from early childhood to adolescence, he or she will grow into a brilliant figure in both physically and mentally throughout the life.

 Currently, I grow a few seedlings with twisting the trunk by imitating what the gardener did. I anticipate that many unique of flower peaches will bloom at my garden in the near future. If you are near, please visit me to appreciate them.
