世代を超え、咲き続ける豪華な「雪柳」

　現在、八分咲きの「雪柳」です。毎年、春分の日に満開になります。植物の開花は日照時間に関係するのでしょう。群馬県高崎市の今日の日の出は5：54、日の入りは17：52で昼の長さは１１時間５８分です。因みに春分の日の日照時間は１２時間０７分です。ですから、昼と夜の時間が同じになると満開になります。

　この雪柳は亡父が半世紀以上前にどこからか手に入れたものですが、１０年ほど前に私がここに植え替え、世代を超えて咲き続けてます。庭はこれから数本の「源平しだれ」など花桃、そしてシャクナゲと開花が続きます。

　若き日の私は音楽のみで、植物に興味がありませんでしたが、遺伝なのでしょう。花が好きだった両親の年令になり、私も花が好きになりました。２月の梅に始まり、９月いっぱいまで庭は花木の開花が続きます。もちろん、音楽は生涯を通じて好きです。
