幹が枯れると根元に子が生える枝垂れレンギョウ

　昨年、私が今の場所に植え替えてから初めて咲いた「枝垂れレンギョー」です。今年は花が少ないですが、年々枝が増えて昔のように豪華に咲くと想います。

　一般のレンギョーはよく見かけますが、枝垂れレンギョウは数少なく貴重です。これも半世紀以上前に亡父がどこからか手に入れたものです。

　不思議なことに幹が枯れると根元から子供が生まれて、それが次代の幹になり世代交代しつつ、半永久に咲き続けます。次女の長女の誕生を記念して植えた「源平しだれ」も蕾が大きくなってます。

 It is the "Weeping forsythia" that has bloomed since I replanted it here last year. There are few flowers this year than before, but I think that the number of branches will increase year by year, then it will bloom as luxuriously as it used to be.

 General forsythia is common, but the weeping forsythia is rare and valuable. This was also obtained from somewhere by my late father more than half a century ago.

 Mysteriously, when the trunk dies, a child is born from the root, which becomes the next generation trunk and continues to bloom semi-permanently beyond generations. The buds of "Genpei Weeping" that literally means bicolored weeping peach which was planted by me to commemorate the birth of second daughter's eldest daughter, are also swelling.
