「バク」休み 若き日々を 振り返る

　行きつけの小料理屋「バク」がコロナ休業中で、私は息抜きするところがありません。どうしましょう。

　こんな時は、４０代から５０代のときにあった若き日を振り返ってみます。

　以前は半世紀以上に亘りレース鳩を飼育してたので鳩と対話ができ、気が解れました。また、イギリスが世界に発行してるレース鳩月刊誌の表紙に3回、登場でき充実してました。日本人では一人かもしれません。

　同じ雑誌にエリザベス女王様も時々登場されたので、本当にもしかしてですが、女王様は日本に私がいることを知っててくださる可能性はあります。

　この他、私の鳩が内モンゴルで発見され、私は一人で現地へ会いに行ったことがあります。北京駅から大陸横断鉄道で１０時間かかり、私の家で生まれた鳩に現地で再会し、鳩を抱き「よくこんな遠方まで飛んできた」と涙が出ました。私の鳩を飼ってた人や内モンゴルの知事と何度も乾杯しました。このため、日中友好ができて本当によかったです。鳩を通じての国際交流は実に充実してました。

　この事は上毛新聞で1週間に亘り「翼が結んだ日中友好」と題して旅行記を連載してくれました。また、FM群馬でも行く前と帰国後に放送してくれました。

　My favorite tavern "Baku" is closed due to Covid19, so I can't take a break. What do I do this evening?

　This time, after a long interval, I look back on my young 40s and 50s.

　Before, I had been breeding race pigeons for more than half a century, so I had an opportunity to talk with pigeons in the loft and felt at ease. In addition, it was fulfilling that I appeared three times on the cover of British race pigeon monthly magazine "Pictorial" which is published all over the world. I may be alone in Japanese.

　Queen Elizabeth Ⅱ also appeared in the same magazine from time to time. Therefore it's possible that she knows that I'm in Japan.

  In addition, my pigeon was discovered in Inner Mongolia, and I have been to the site alone. It took 10 hours by transcontinental railroad from Beijing station, and I met the pigeon born at my loft again there, hugged the pigeon, and I cried saying "Why did you fly to such a distant place beyond the Great wall and sea from Japan." I toasted many times with the person who kept my pigeon and the governor of Inner Mongolia. I was really happy to have a friendship between Japan and China. International exchange through pigeons was really fulfilling.

　For a week, newspaper named Jomō Shimbun published my travel report entitled "Japan-China Friendship with Wings". Also, FM Gumma broadcasted before going to Inner Mongolia and after returning to Japan.
