幼木は 教育のような 世話大切

　左の植木鉢の直径は６０cmほどの大きなもので、植わってる植物は藤です。しかし、容積が狭すぎて根がもう張れないほど密になってます。

　このため、ご覧のように、植木鉢の淵に小石を並べ、土も入れて水が溜まるようにしました。果たして開花時期の５月に咲くでしょう。

　一方の植物は２本とも種から生えた「源平枝垂れ桃」の子供です。生まれて２年目の幹がまだ柔らかいうちに、私が曲げて紐で固定したところ、今では紐がなくても曲ったままに成長してます。

　このまま大きくなり、見事な樹形になる事を期待してます。こちらも果たして親のように大きくなり、紅白に咲く源平枝垂れになるでしょうか。今春に場所を探して直植えします。

　このような植物でも、人間の子供のように日々世話することで、後々、立派な開花につながると考えます。
