　今月は車の税金があり、出費が多かったです。先日は車の会社からアクティーの保険が今月で切れるとの連絡がありました。私は税金を支払ったので、もう済んだと勘違いし、保険の支払いを忘れてました。

　学生時代に経済を勉強した筈ですが、当時は実は単位をとるためであり、本当の勉強ではありませんでした。

　今考えると経済とは「退職してから、給料の来ない人生後半の長い期間に、いかに収入を確保するか」が勉強の中心であると今更ながら思います。もっと真剣に経済学をやるべきでした。若い方たち、頑張ってください。

　一方、世界の穀倉地帯であるウクライナへの侵攻により、ガソリンや穀類のみならず、今度は私たちにとって、欠くべからざる食料品が大幅に値上がりしてます。

　生きることは「食べることであり、収入を確実に確保しなくてはなりません。」健康と経済は生きる基盤であることを遅きに感じてます。

肝腎な 水分補給 忘れずに

　今朝、５時に庭先で撮影したダリアの一種「マジョーレ」です。ご覧の通り、全体的には白ですが、外側の花弁がかすかに紫になっており、神秘的な色彩です。人間社会はまだ眠りについてますが、自己の個性を最大に表現しています。私は感謝の気持ちを込めて朝から水遣りです。

　ところで、私たちの体内の水分量は、新生児で75％、4～5歳児で70％、成人女性が50％、成人男性が60％、老人は50％ほどといわれてます。大人にとっても水分補給は必要ですが、特に子供の水分が減ると熱中症になる危険があるので、こまめな水分補給が欠かせませんね。

物理的 暑い空気は 上昇する

　私の家は一見、二階建ての和風住宅ですが、実際には、山小屋風の広い三階の部屋【第二客間】があります。今日の群馬県高崎市の気温は３５°Cで真夏並みの暑さだったです。

　ところで「空気は温まると上昇する性質があります。」このため、三階の窓を開けて家中の温まった空気を外に逃がしました。つまり、家全体を煙突のように考え、一階と二階の空気を上に流しましたら、だいぶ涼しくなりました。

　これからも何でもエアコンに頼らず、工夫して暑い季節を乗り越えたいと思います。

　もう一つ涼しくする方法として、私は今日から脹脛が出て、膝が隠れる半ズボンにしました。とても快適です。もちろん、夜の一杯は「冷」を戴きました。つまり、暑さに対して「三所攻め」で対処です。何事も創意工夫です。でも、心には温かさが欲しい。

不自然な 一人の暮らし 解放し

　昨夜は娘の家で久しぶりに過ごし、今朝帰宅しました。やはり、家族と色々話しながらの一杯ほど楽しいことはありません。

勉強は 将来のためより 今のため

　現役時代によく通った高崎の「すすき野」という飲み屋さんに貼ってあった言葉「一生勉強、一生青春」は、今でもその通りと感じてます。

　子供の頃、勉強とは大人になれば要らないと思ってましたが、とんでもありません。大人になるほど「将来のためより、今のために」勉強の必要性を実感してます。

　人生とは、その第３コーナーから第４コーナーにかけて、常に生活全般、経済、健康法、人間関係、仕事、趣味などで、いかなる時も、より良い判断が迫られ、自ら答えを出さなくてはなりません。そして、「毎日が楽しく、賢い人生の舞台」にしたいものです。

　現在、私が生き方の教科書として講読してる2冊は「プレジデント」及び英文でも読める「天声人語」です。特にプレジデントは月に２回発行され、自宅に配達されてきます。中身は各界トップによって述べられてる人生後半の生き方、出会いの広がり、見聞、介護、気力、など誰にも共通するものです。

　一方、天声人語は時事問題を通して、時代に遅れないようにしてます。同時に、私は英語の語彙を広げたり、英作文とは英借文であるとの考えで、表現法を真似てます。つまり、学習とは「模倣から創造への過程」と考えてます。

In other words, learning is the process from imitation to creation.

美の追求 花と演奏 共通す

　

　子供の頃は絵を描くことで、色に対する興味関心がありましたが、その後、色彩感覚はあまり洗練されませんでした。

　現在の私は、日々目で感じる色彩は庭の花たちです。各種の花を見ることで色彩に心が奪われてます。

　ところで、植物の花には何故いろんな色が存在するのでしょう。不思議です。もしかして、色や香りによって蝶など各種昆虫を惹きつけ、それにより授粉でき、次代へと命をつなげているのでしょうか。

　四季を通じて、人間とは、植物の色彩に安らぎを感じたり、自然に存在する美的なものに惹きつけられるのでしょう。

　音楽にも音色という無限の追求対象があります。最近の私は、作品の魅力は旋律にあり、演奏の中心は音色にあると感じてます。この姿勢でピアノやソプラノサックスに向かいたいものです。

今後とも 児童の安全 守ります

　家族に倉小の児童はいませんが、今日は午後２時４０分から４時まで倉賀野小児童の下校指導をしました。最初に通学路を１．５Ｋほど周遊し、その後、通りの激しい手押し信号機のあるところで見守りました。

　子供は信号が青になると一目散に横断しますが、「左右を確認して渡るよう」話しました。

　実は、私の裏の方に最近、新築家屋がたくさんできて、狭い道でも交通量が増加してます。子供も、中年も、高齢者も「注意一秒、怪我一生」を肝に銘じましょう。

緑の中 光合成で 生かされてる

　２月から３月の花の少ない時季に咲く花梅を５種類育ててます。しかし、１本の大きな梅の木には毎年実が生り、今年も来月には収穫です。

楽しみな 新みかぼフィル 演奏会

　来月開催される「新みかぼフィルハーモニック」第３９回定期演奏会への招待状が届き、誠に嬉しく思います。しかも、私の宛名がPersimmon Marshになってましたが、郵便局の人もきちんと配達してくれました。

　数年前から、この定期演奏会や浜川での演奏を楽しみに鑑賞してます。

　実は、リストのレ・プレリュードは２０代の私が異国の地で毎日のように聴いていた名曲で、青春の思い出であり、懐かしく楽しみです。

他の２曲も馴染みの名曲で暫くぶりにシンフォーニーの響きに浸りたいと思います。

エンジンの 調整兼ねて 高崎一周

　暫くこの車に乗ってなかったので、今日の午後、エンジン調整のため前橋のJA全農花木センターまで走らせ、帰路は高前バイパス経由で、結局、高崎市を大きく一周しました。

尺八の 音色に暫し 時間を忘れ

　今日の午前中、倉賀野公民館で開かれた「尺八による演奏」を聴きに行きました。演奏者は「すまいる・けん＆さゆり」です。

　演奏内容は通常の尺八による民謡などでなく、２本の尺八で昔懐かしい名曲やヒット曲の演奏で、客との一体感を基本とする演出は楽しく、私たちもいっしょに歌ったりしました。

　私が楽しく感じた曲は「見上げてごらん夜の星を」、「椰子の実」などで、会場の客も暫し時間を忘れ、それぞれが青春に戻ったようでした。

　「すまいる・けん＆さゆり」は高崎市を中心に、ご夫妻で演奏活動されており、高齢化が進む社会にあって、心のオアシスとして活躍が期待されます。

　I went to listen to "Musical performance by Shakuhachi" that means Japanese traditional instrument, held at Kuragano Community Center this morning. The performers are "Smile, Ken & Sayuri".

　The program is not the usual Japanese folk songs by the shakuhachi, but the performance of old-fashioned nostalgic masterpieces and pop hit songs by the two shakuhachi, and the production based on a sense of unity with the customer is fun, and we also sang together.

初夏の花 意外と色彩 多種である

　５月下旬となって春の花は咲き終わり、現在、庭の花は比較的背の低い色彩豊かなものに移行してます。ご覧の植物は台の上に載せてあるので人の目の高さで花が見られます。

　この花の名はパンサーです。特徴は種がつかないので開花期間が長く、暑さにも強く、今後しばらく楽しめます。根元から花茎を立ち上げて花を咲かせます。

　一般的に紫の花は少なく、花の形も変わっていて十分に楽しめます。植木鉢で育てます。植木鉢の土壌について、私は排水性と保水性を併せ持つ軽石とピートモスを主体にしています。

　概して、背の低い植物を私たちは上から見がちですが、台の上に置き、ステージに登場したように同じ目線で見てやりたいものです。

今もなお 母の言葉が 生きている

　私の家の土地は昔、畑であったことから東側が南北に斜めであったため、可能であれば南北にまっすぐにしたい気持ちがありました。

　幸運にも１０年ほど前、東隣の土地が売りに出たので、思い切って１５坪ほど購入し、その後、ご覧の塀を作りました。

オリエンタルゴールドも 私の身長も 隔世遺伝か

　ブログに掲載してる花はすべて私の庭で咲いてるものです。その結果、毎日、水遣りや剪定、肥料などで世話し、観察していると不思議なことに気づきます。

　その一つはオリエンタルゴールドや牡丹の「根元から生えてくる子供は親と異なる葉と花になります。」

　これは「先祖返り」あるいは「隔世遺伝」というものかもしれません。「突然変異」ではなさそうです。写真のオリエンタルゴールドは人為的に行なったシャクヤクと牡丹の交配種ですが、ご覧の通り、親の根元に生えた背の高い子供の花の色は、ピンクで一重です。きれいな親よりちょっと見劣りがします。

　果たして、来年、子供は親のように八重で黄色になるでしょうか。観察を続けます。たくさんある牡丹の子供でも同様の現象が起こってます。

今の時季 新緑の中で 健康増進

　今日は東京よりテレビでお馴染みの講師が来て、高崎アリーナでNHKのラジオ体操会が開かれます。

　ところで、毎日、近くの公園で仲間とラジオ体操してる私は朝から一日のリズムが出来てとても良い習慣になってます。お腹が空き、その後の朝食が美味しく感じます。

　ラジオ体操が始まる前に、裏庭の太い杉の木に向かって「テッポー」もしてます。

　今は、年間で昼の時間が長く、とてもよい気候です。出来る限り自然の中でウォーキングなどして身体を動かしましょう。きっと血流がよくなります。

　よく見たら蕾がまだ４つもあり、これから暫く楽しめそうで有難いです。バラは自身で健康を回復し、しっかり咲こうとしていたのです。

　こんな小さなバラからも「人間、何事も諦めたらいけない。」ことを教わります。申し訳なかったと思い、今後、大切に育てます。

生涯の 宝になるとは 思わなかった

　この絵を最後に、すでに半世紀以上の期間、絵を描いてません。絵は一枚描いただけで当時の状況と共に、若き日の生活が蘇ってきます。この時は絵の才能のある友人に恵まれ、影響を受けました。

　実は絵の中の建物の高い所にある黒いものは翼を持った天女のような像で、その時の風向きで方向が変わるのです。

　すべて大理石で作られてるこの建物はイギリス統治時代のビクトリア女王を記念したもので、インドのカルカッタ市にあるビクトリアメモリアルです。

　私にとって生涯一枚の油絵です。今でもこの絵を見て若き日を振り返りますが、私に絵を教えてくれた友人はすでにこの世にいません。

　不思議な縁で、私は最後の職場として彼の母校に勤務しました。しかし、彼はそれを知りません。

健康は 日々の継続 積み重ね

　今週は概して晴れの日が多くなると予報され、新鮮な自然の風に触れる機会がありそうです。

　ところで、歩く姿勢はその人の健康度を示します。最近の私は、ウォーキング中、ストライドを２cmくらい広げ、また、歩く速度については「速過ぎず、遅過ぎず」を目指してます。一方、年を重ねるほど筋肉維持が大切と考え、裏の杉の木でテッポウしてます。

挿し木した 躑躅に今春 花が咲く

　いつも、庭の植物のことばかり話題にして申し訳ありません。

　2年前に赤紫のつつじを剪定したとき、落ちた３本の枝を拾って、挿し木にし、まとめて一つの鉢に植えておきました。その小枝に今春、花が咲き、調べたところ根が生じてます。

　昨日、それらの挿し木を別々の鉢に植え替えし、独立させました。元のつつじの色彩が濃くきれいなので今後が楽しみです。

　別件ですが、私は早朝の空腹時に一日の始まりとして、コップ一杯のトマトジュース又は、ニンジンジュースを飲んでましたが、この程、グレープフルーツのジュースが加わりました。多少苦みがありますが、調べてみると、グレープフルーツの効果は強い抗酸化作用や老化予防があり、さらに、血行をよくし、動脈硬化対策が期待できます。

　注意することは、グレープフルーツと共に薬を飲むと効き過ぎることがあるとのことです。それでも、私は抗酸化作用や動脈硬化対策を優先します。

　記事は写真を拡大するとお読みいただけます。「何でも人にしてもらう習慣に陥ると脳を使わなくなる」との考えを書いたもので「自らできるうちは何事も自ら行なうことの大切さ」を述べました。

　ところで、平素、私がモットーとしてるSNSの基本は、可能な限り角度を変えた物事の見方、自然や社会に対する的確な観察力、ジャンルや興味関心を広げる、自ら体験したこと感じたこと、なるべく現在形で書く、自慢話は無し、そして、何よりモットーとしてることは正確さ第一を念頭に入れてます。

今日から 愛鳥週間 思い出数々

  初夏になったり、冬に逆戻りしたり、今の季節は人の心のように安心と不安が行き交います。庭ではツツジなど春の花が終わり、ユリなど初夏の花の季節になりました。

　今日から愛鳥週間です。小学生から半世紀以上に亘り飼育してたレース鳩への思い出は尽きません。夜暗いうちに鳩を籠に詰め、愛車「いすゞ１１７クーペ」で高速道に乗り、遠く栃木県、新潟県そして福島県まで行き、誰もいない大自然の高台から一人で放鳩訓練したこと。

　結果的に、北海道の余市から、長万部から、そして羽幌から帰還した鳩が優勝したり、また、日本最北の地・稚内から帰還した鳩が入賞し、「頑張ることの大切さを愛鳩から教わり」涙したこともあります。

　高校に勤務してたので、体育祭、全校マラソン大会の開会式で選手宣誓直後にたくさんの鳩を放したことは、すでに５０代６０代になってる当時の生徒さんの心に今でも残っているかもしれません。

　そのほか、１羽の愛鳩が日本海を渡り、北京上空を飛び、万里の長城を超え、内モンゴルで発見されたことを現地からの手紙で知り、その鳩に私は一人で会いに行ったことです。この鳩の名は「中日友好号」です。そのため事前に明けても暮れても、中国語に励んだことが懐かしいです。

　中でも、私の人生の金字塔は、イギリスが世界に発行してるレース鳩月刊誌「ピクトリアル」の表紙を３回も飾ったことで、この写真は今でも、玄関に飾っています。

人間は 意外と早く 年をとり

　すでに４０年ほどシャクナゲの魅力に取り付かれていても、よりよく咲かさせるには不断の研究が欠かせません。今のところ私が気づいてることは、大きな植木鉢でも、上から水を与えたら１０秒ほどで下から水が出てくる土壌作りです。

　つまり、排水性がシャクナゲを育てる基本と考えます。ここだけの話ですが、最近は小さい粒の軽石と、ピートモスを混ぜた土壌づくりに勤しんでます。結果は来春に出ますが、今のところ、枝から勢いよく新芽が伸びてます。

　クロスワードを解いていると、タテのヒントに「漢字では『躑躅』と書く」とある３字の語が思いつかない。上一字は「つ」、下一字は「じ」まで自信があったが、中一字が埋まらない。妻に、「躑躅」の読み方を聞くと、「つつじ」と教えてくれた。花好きの妻によって解答は得られたが、そこから新たな疑問が湧いた。花の名前なのに、木偏も草冠もつかず、なぜ、足偏が付くのだろうか？

　ゴールデンウィークでも天候は前半が雨や曇りがちで、後半は回復傾向と予報されてます。
