隣の子 取れるか点を 英語のテスト

　今日は比較的充実した時間が過ごせました。午前中は倉賀野公民館で女性コーラスの練習会を聴きに行ってました。暫くぶりに「落葉松」など日本の名曲を三部合唱で聴き、楽しめました。

　ところで、東隣の女の子が四月から中一になり、初めての中間テストで、明日、英語の試験があります。昨日、私が作った問題を彼女がやって来たので、できなかったところを中心に教えました。果たして成績はどうなるでしょう。

　それにしても、中一の英語でも結構、難しい言葉や言い回しが出てきます。例えば、日曜日から土曜日までのスペルをすべて書かせたり、「科学に興味がありますか」などを英文で書かせるのですから、昔の中一よりレベルが高いです。私は慣れない英語の問題作りや、できないところを教えるのにちょっと疲れました。

　Even it is in 1st grader's English, there are quite a few difficult words and phrases. For example, she have to write spelling from Sunday to Saturday, and she must write "Are you interested in science?" as an English composition. I thought the level of English is higher than in the past. I was a little tired of making unfamiliar English examination for her and teaching what she couldn't solve grammatically.
