一生涯 浅間の感銘 忘れない

　今日、８月１１日は山の日です。私が登った山で標高の高かったのは乗鞍岳(３０２６m)です。でも、当時、９合目まで「いすゞ１１７クーペ」で行けました。しかし、私が最も感銘を受けたのは浅間山(標高２５６８m)で、結局３回登頂しました。

　浅間山山頂の素晴らしさは、広大な関東平野が一望でき、利根川の長い蛇行が見え、北アルプス、富士山、東北の山々など景色が抜群であると共に、忘れられないのが火口の巨大さで端から端まで２００mほどです。

　火口の形はすり鉢型でなく、巨大な桶のように垂直の崖で深さ２００mほど。落ちたら一巻の終わりです。崖の途中から硫黄の匂いがする煙が至る所から出てます。今でも毎日、私の家の窓から浅間山が望めるので、その度に青春の日々を思い出します。

　これからはこのような高山でなく、低山でもいくらでも自然の良さは満喫できるので、安全で健康づくりに主眼を置く山登りをします。

Dear my friends who like mountaineering

　Today, August 11th is Mountain Day in Japan. The highest mountain I have ever climbed was Mt. Norikura (3026m) in the Japan alps. But at that time, I was able to go to the 9th station by "Isuzu 117 Coupe". But what impressed me the most so far was active volcano Mt. Asama (2568m), which I climbed three times after all.　

　The splendor of the summit of Mt. Asama offers a panoramic view of the vast Kanto Plain, the long meandering Tone River, the Northern Alps, Mt. Fuji, and the mountains of the northeastern region. The width of the cater is about 200m from the end to the end.

　The shape of the crater is not mortar-shaped, but rather a vertical cliff with a depth of about 200m, like a huge bucket. If we fall into the crater, it be done for. Smoke that smells of sulfur is coming out from everywhere in the middle of the cliff. Even now, I can see Mt. Asama from the window of my house every day, and it reminds me of my adolescent days.

　From now on, I will enjoy the beauty of nature as much as I want, not at high mountains like this, but at low mountains, so I will climb mountains with focusing on safety and health.
