　誰にでも必ずやって来る還暦です。人生１００年時代と言われ、残りの「４０年間を如何に過ごすか」は誠に大きな課題です。しかも、子育てが終わり、子供が独立します。

　今まで仕事に子育てに夢中で、あるいは家のローンに追われた日々は、ある日から急に夫婦だけになります。それでも二人そろって健康ならば、有り余る時間を好きなことをしたり、行きたいところへ旅行したりで、今までの苦労から解放されるでしょう。

　しかし、還暦後に迎える４０年間とは「気の遠くなるほど長い時間」です。だらだら生きても、計画を立てて実践しても時間の経過は同じです。要は「自分らしく充実する日々が送れるかどうか」と言えるのではないでしょうか。

　私の場合、高校時代から科目は音楽と英語が好きでした。そしたら就職もこれに関連し、結局、還暦後もこれが続いてますが、還暦後で大切なことの一つは、何でもいいから「新たに夢中になることに挑戦」できることが、きっと生きがいに通じると考えます。

　あれこれいろいろ考えても、写真のように「いつまでも夫婦仲良く」が最も尊いことと思います。

　It's the 60th birthday that surely comes to anyone. It is said that we live during 100 years, and the question of “how to spend the remaining 40 years” is truly a big issue. Moreover, the children's care ends and the child becomes independent.

　Until now, the days when we were preoccupied with work and raising children, or when we were busy with a house loan, one day we suddenly became just husband and wife only. 　In my case, I have liked music and English as subjects since senior high school period. Then, I found a job as a music teacher abroad, and after retirement, this continues, but one of the indispensable things after my 60th birthday is, whatever it is, to "challenging new things that I'm crazy about" will surely give me a purpose of life.

　Even if I think about many things, I am of the opinion that the most precious way in our life is to "stay together as a couple forever", as you can see in the photo.
