今日から 家族の週間 満開の柊

　庭の植物の殆どは紅葉が終わりを告げ、今では大方の葉が落葉してるので、私は毎朝、落ち葉の清掃をしています。華やかだった庭は次第に荒涼とした光景になりつつあります。

　その中で、ひときわ輝いてる樹木があります。写真の花は、珍しく小春日和に満開になる柊です。高さは３mほどあり、一年の内で今が最も輝いてます。一般に、柊の木は棘があるようですが、私の家の柊には棘がなく、扱いに困りません。

　部屋からよく見えるように植えてあり、花の少ない時季に、私に安らぎを与えています。

　ところで、今日から「家族の週間」が始まります。家族ほど安らぎの場はありません。とりわけ植物が好きな私には樹木が家族です。現在、白い花で満開の柊が、樹木を代表して「家族の週間」を祝ってくれてます。

　Most of the plants in my garden have finished turning red, and now most of the leaves have fallen in Japan, so I clean up the fallen leaves every morning after radio calisthenics. The gorgeous view of the garden is gradually becoming desolate in early winter.

　"Among them, there is a tree that shines conspicuously." The flower in the photo is a holly tree which is unusually in full bloom, what we called, during Indian summer. The height is about 3m, and now is the most shining in the year. In general, holly tree seems to have thorns, but my holly tree has no thorns so that it is easy to handle such as pruning.

　It is planted so as to be seen clearly from the Japanese room, and it gives me peace during the season when there are few flowers.

　Not change the subject, but "Family Week" starts today in Japan. There is no comfortable place than family. I especially like plants, so trees are my family due to living alone. Currently, a holly tree with white flowers in full bloom is celebrating "Family Week" for me on behalf of the trees.
