　一年間、拙いブログを通じて交流を賜り有難うございました。令和４年も暮れようとしています。

　今年一年、私なりに目指したことは、手書きで文字を書くことが少なくなってるので、意識してノートに字を書き、指先の感覚を大切にしました。

　また、年齢を重ねつつあり、「記憶力の向上」に努め、漢字や英単語を書いたり、聴いたり、発音したり、つまり、五感を動員して脳の海馬にインプットしましたが、時間が経つとかなり忘れました。それでも、記憶に効果がある方法は「繰り返し使うこと」と感じてます。

　一方、日常的に「社会との接点」が不可欠と考え、学童の登下校パトロール、一人暮らしの高齢女性宅のゴミ出し、ラジオ体操会参加、地区役員は楽しくできました。

　私自身も一人暮らしなので、時々、民生委員が巡回して来られます。ところが、最近になって、笑顔の素敵な４０代の若い女性が来訪してくださるので、つい話が弾み、楽しみが増えました。

　ところで、今宵はチャンスです。年が変わる瞬間とは、夜空で最も明るい星「シリウス」が真南で輝きます。除夜の鐘が鳴るとき「公転してる地球が太陽とシリウスの間を通過する瞬間」です。１月１日午前０時の意味を考え、しみじみ実感しましょう。

驚き！ 倉賀野から丁須岩が見える

　この写真は倉賀野から撮った上毛三山の一つ「妙義山」です。「上毛かるた」にも、紅葉に映える妙義山と詠われてます。

　左の峰々を表妙義と言い、大砲岩などが含まれます。右の峰々を裏妙義と言い、丁須岩などが含まれます。一般的には表妙義に行き、裏妙義は本格的な登山者向きと言えますが、どちらも岩登りであるため非常に険しいことに変わりありません。度々、転落事故が起こります。

　私は裏妙義の丁須岩に登ったことはありませんが、友人や姪がが登り、凄い勇気がいると言ってました。その分、登頂の感銘は大きいのでしょう。

　実は、この写真を拡大したところ、丁須岩が見えるので誠に驚きました。というのは、倉賀野から見えるとは思っていなかったからです。写真の右端を大きく拡大すると「丁」の形をした岩が確かにあります。

　直線距離で約４５Kと遠方であり、また、裸眼では小さ過ぎて気づかないことから、倉賀野からは見えないものと思ってました。しかし、実際には見えるのですから、何事も先入観に囚われず、現実を直視することが大切ですね。

Dear my overseas friends who are crazy about mountaineering

　This photo is Mt. Myogi which is one of the three well-known mountains in Gumma prefecture, taken by me from Kuragano-

town where I live. "Jomo Karuta" which is Japanese syllabary cards also mentions that Mt. Myogi shines in autumn leaves.

　The peaks on the left are called Omote Myogi including the famous Cannon Rock. The peaks on the right are called Ura Myogi including the well-known Chohsu Rock. Generally, people go to Omote Myogi and Ura Myogi is for expert climbers, but both are rock climbing, so it's still very steep. Fall accidents often occur.

　I have never climbed Chohsu Rock in Ura Myogi, but my friend and niece have climbed it and said it takes a lot of courage. For that reason, the impression of climbing must be great.

　Actually, when I enlarged this photo, I was really surprised because Chohsu Rock is visible. Because I didn't expect to see it from Kuragano-town. If you zoom in on the photo, you can definitely see the rock in the shape of "choh" in Chinese character.

　I thought it would not be visible from Kuragano-town because it was about 45km far away in a straight line, and it was too small to notice with the naked eye. However, since I can actually see it, it is important for us to accept reality as it is carefully without being bound by preconceptions.

運転を 客観的に 捉えた映像

　吉井ドリームセンターの今年の営業が今日までだったことと、また、ＴＴに数日、乗らなかったのでエンジンの調子アップを兼ね、今年最後として日帰り温泉へ新鏑川橋経由で行ってきました。走行距離はやっと１万Kになり、車として調子が出るのはこれからでしょう。

　ところで、先日、倉賀野バイパスを走っていたところ、偶然にも、信号待ちしてた娘夫婦が私が運転してる様子を動画に撮ってくれました。私は全く気づきませんでした。

　動画により動きが客観的に見られて良かったです。それにしても、信号での一瞬の出来事なのによく撮ってくれました。年末年始は私の家に宿泊するので、お礼に心行くまで飲んでもらいましょう。

　動画を見て、私が気に入ったのはホイールがピカピカ光って回転し、予想より目立ちました。これはタイヤサイズ24５、扁平率３５％で１９インチのため、回転するとデザインが誇張されて見えるのでしょう。

Dear my friends abroad who like driving and day-spa

　Yoshii Dream Center is open until today this year, and I didn't drive Audi TT for a few days, so I went to the day spa via New-kabra river bridge. The mileage has finally reached 10,000km, so that the condition of TT will be improved from now on.

植物と ピアノと共に 過ごす年末

　今年もあと3日です。穏やかな年末に、庭いじりすることは楽しく、つい時間の経つのを忘れます。昨日、築山一帯に新たな土を入れ整地したところ、土の下にはすでに水仙の芽が伸び、春の準備をしています。

　更に、築山に入れた土が流れ出ないように、新たに石垣を高く積み、「源平枝垂れ」がよく育つ基盤を作りました。赤い桃の花は「旧暦のひな祭り」に開花です。

　来年は１月２２日が旧暦の正月です。モンゴルや中国など広くアジア諸国では春節です。この頃になると、日の出は未だ遅くとも、日没は午後５時になって昼の時間は冬至より３０分も長くなり(群馬県)、ほんの少し春の気配が感じられるでしょう。

　人間の喜びは、自然との対話を通して培う健康美であり、時に人との対話であり、更に芸術に心から没頭できる環境ではないでしょうか。年末は「ハ短調の遺作ノクターン」を弾いてます。ショパンは誠に素晴らしい音楽を後世に残してます。

Dear my overseas friends who are fond of nature and great music

　Only 3 days left this year. At the end of the year, when the weather is calm, gardening is so much fun that I was unconscious of time passing. Yesterday, when I put new soil in the Tsukiyama that means the artificial mound and leveled the ground, narcissus buds were already preparing for spring under the soil.

　In addition, to prevent the soil flowing out of the Tsukiyama, new stone walls were piled high to create a foundation for the "Genpei Weeping Peach" to grow well. The red peach flowers will bloom during the Hinamatsuri that means girl's doll festival of the lunar calendar.

春を夢見て 樵になったり、庭師になったり

　庭で枝を剪定したり、余分な樹木を伐採したりで、今の季節は良い肉体労働になります。

　昨日の夕方、先日切った樹木の切り株が残っていたので、私は樵になって切りましたが、直径２０cmほどある根本は硬くて、なかなか鋸の刃が進みません。

　休み休み切りましたが、結局、昨日は切り落とせず、再度、今朝、朝食前に切りましたら１０分程で切り終わりました。これが本当の朝飯前です。

　樹木はその種類によって、柔らかいもと硬いものがあります。モクレンなどは柔らかくて楽でした。

　いずれにしても、庭仕事は重労働でも楽しいものです。それは心の中で「来春は庭がどう変化し、きれいになるか」を描いてるからです。今回切った樹木のそばには赤の源平枝垂れ桃が植えてあり、その成長と開花が楽しみです。源平枝垂れの花が赤だけになるのはメンデルの独立の法則と考えられます。

　樵の真似したり、ピアノを弾いたりで年末はまあまあ充実してますが、やはり一人での生活は自分の世界のみであり、何かが不足します。

　Pruning branches and cutting down the excess trees in the garden is good physical labor at the end of the year.

　Yesterday evening, I cut a stump remains of the other day, so I became a woodcutter and cut it down, but the trunk near the root is about 20cm in diameter, was hard to cut because the saw blade didn't work very well.

　I took a break and cut repeatedly, as the result, I didn't cut it off yesterday. So I can cut it off this morning. It a cinch.

ロシアから 飛来して来た コハクチョウ

　天気が比較的穏やかな今日、もしかしてコハクチョウがロシアから飛来してるかと思い、鏑川に行ってみたところ、既にたくさんが羽を休めてました。

　先週あたりから、北海道、東北地方、そして日本海側が大雪であることから、ここまで飛んで来るのが大変と考えてましたが、例年より遅れましたが、飛んで来てくれました。

　今春、ロシア北部であるツンドラ地帯で生まれたと想われる雛たちも親に連れられて、おそらく、カムチャッカ半島経由で群馬県高崎市の木部町に飛来してます。

　その距離、３０００km～４０００kmです。途中では悪天候や難所、そして猛禽類との遭遇などを避け、雛は生まれて初めて日本に来て平和に暮らしていることに感銘します。ロシア北部より温かいここで小魚や水草を食べて暮らし、３月中旬になると再度、生まれ故郷へ帰る日露友好大使です。

　ここ木部町は私の母の生まれ故郷です。昔もコハクチョウが来ていたか訊いておきたかった。

喧騒な 令和４年も あと五日

　ところで、冬季であっても、植物のみならず人間も水分補給が欠かせません。時々水を与えたら、枝垂れレンギョウに２～３輪の花が咲きました。もちろん、狂い咲きです。

　夏季では、私たちは喉が渇くことから水分補強しますが、冬季もスムースな血液循環のために、及び自律神経を目覚めさせるために、空腹時の水分補給は大切です。忘れないようにしましょう。

よい体調 お腹が空く状態 創ること

　いつの時代にあっても、老若男女に共通する関心ごとは体調の良さです。これについて、私もあれこれ試行錯誤し、研究してますが、「如何にお腹が空く生活をするか」が鍵ではないでしょうか。

　その一つは、「朝食を遅い時間に摂らないこと」です。朝食は７時～７時３０分頃が良いと思います。これを習慣にすると１１時半になると、もうお腹がグーグー鳴ってきます。同様に昼食を１２時～１２時３０分にすると、夕方５時頃にお腹が空いてきます。食べ物は胃から十二指腸を通過し、小腸へ行くのに３時間かかると言われてます。

　一方、運動や勉強は環境が大切で、「すぐに取り掛かれる状態にしある」ことです。いつも読む本は机の上に置いておく、ダンベルなど運動器具は仕舞っておかず、すぐ持てるようにしておきます。また、自然と歩きたくなるようなウォーキングコースを持つことでしょう。

　また、食事内容は何でも食べますが、最近、朝食で続けてることは納豆にご覧のモズクを入れてます。海藻は栄養的に優れてます。味噌汁には多くの野菜を具にします。

Dear my friends abroad who hope to be a centenarian

　Regardless of times, both of men and women of all ages are concern with good physical condition. I am also doing trial and error and researching about this purpose, but I think the key point is "how to live a hungry life".

　One of them is "Don't eat breakfast late." I think it's ideal to have breakfast between 7:00 and 7:30. If we make this a habit, our stomach will growl by 11:30. Similarly, if we eat lunch between 12:00 and 12:30, we will be hungry around 5:00 in the evening. It is said that it takes three hours for food that we ate to pass through the duodenum from the stomach to the small intestine.

　On the other hand, the environment is important for exercising and studying. Keep the books you always read on your desk, and do not put away exercise equipment such as dumbbells, keep them within easy reach. We have a walking course that makes us want to walk naturally.

　Also, I eat many kinds of foods, but recently, I've been adding mozuku seaweed to my natto that means traditional sticky soybeans for breakfast. Seaweed is nutritious. Miso soup contains many kinds of vegetables.

この窓から 一週間後 初日の出

　私の家は一見、二階建ての和風住宅です。しかし、比較的大きな家なので屋根が高く、結果的に屋根裏部屋ができました。

　ここは山小屋風で、窓からの景色は良く、活火山の浅間山や上毛三山が一望できます。天井が高いので背の高い私でも不都合ありません。

　一週間後には、地平線から昇る初日の出がここから見えます。ご覧の通り、この部屋は第２の応接間でもあり、以前にホームコンサートをした後の懇親会に使いました。皆さん、景色が良いので喜びます。

感銘です ダイアモンドの 広がりに

　年末の夜空には「冬のダイアモンド」が広がり、その巨大さに驚きます。初めて「冬のダイアモンド」を捉えたときの感動は今でも忘れられません。ダイアモンドを形成する星はすべ.て一等星です。

　昨夜、クリスマスイヴの帰路に誠に澄んでる大空を見上げたら、最近まで地球に接近してた火星が未だ「冬のダイアモンド」内の西隅にあり、スバル星団に近づいてました。

　図の中の紫の線は黄道です。つまり、月、火星、木星、土星などが通過する天の道です。黄道十二星座に含まれる星座は「牡牛座」と「双子座」です。

　ところが、太陽、水星、金星も黄道を通過しますが、これらが通過するのは常に日中のため見られません。

　「冬のダイアモンド」内の一等星の位置を調べてみると、カペラは稚内市上空を通過し、スバルは宮古島上空を通過し、アルデバランはマニラ市上空を通過し、オリオン座は赤道上空を通過し、シリウスはオーストラリアのケアンズ上空を通過することから「冬のダイアモンド」の広大さを改めて認識できます。

　At the end of the year, the "Winter Diamond" spreads out in the night sky, and we can amaze at its size. I never forget the excitement when I captured this "Winter Diamond" for the first time. All diamond-forming stars are of first magnitude.

　Last night, on the way home from the Christmas eve, when I looked up at the really clear sky, Mars which had been approaching the Earth until recently, was still in the western corner of "Winter Diamond", and it is approaching the Pleiades.

　The purple line in the diagram is the ecliptic. That is the celestial path through where the Moon, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, etc. pass. The constellations included in the zodiac are Taurus and Gemini.

　However, the Sun, Mercury, and Venus also pass through the Ecliptic, but they always pass during the daytime therefore they cannot be seen.

　Looking at the positions of first-magnitude stars in "Winter Diamond", Capella passes over Wakkanai-city, Pleiades passes over Miyako-island, Aldebaran passes over Manila-city, and Orion passes over the equator. Sirius passes over Cairns-city, Australia, so we can recognize the spread of "Winter Diamond" again.

円卓に 自然と生まれる 一体感

　この円卓はキッチンに設置してますが、現在、使うことはありません。直径１ｍ３０cmほどで家庭用としては広いです。椅子を置けば４人から８人まで一度に会することができます。

　このテーブルの利点は、上座や下座の感覚がなく、全員の顔の表情がよく見え、声の大きさも同じになり、そこに座る人の気持ちに一体感が生まれることです。

　今まであまり有効利用しなかったので、今後、来客があったときは、この円卓を使おうと思います。これを囲んで話せば、自然と笑顔溢れる様子が目に浮かびます。果たして、年末年始に楽しい出会いが実現するでしょうか。

Dear my overseas friends who hope for humane relation

　This round table is installed in the kitchen, but it is not currently used. With a diameter of about 1m30cm, it is wide for home use. If putting chairs, we can meet from 4 to 8 people all at once.

　The advantage of this table is that there is no sense of sitting at the head or lower seat, and everyone's facial expressions are clearly visible, the volume of their voices is the same, and a sense of unity is created among the people sitting here.

　I haven't used it very effectively so far, so I'm thinking of using this round table when I have guests in the near future. If we surround with this table and talk, guests will naturally see a smile each other. Will there be a fun encounter in the new year's holiday?

　今日の群馬県高崎市は晴れてますが、北西の冷たい風が吹き荒れてます。

　植物の写真は殆ど私の庭のものを掲げてますが、このボケは二軒前の家の庭に咲いてるものです。どうしたことでしょう。この寒さの中で満開です。

珍しく 車を運転 野菜買う

　今日の群馬高崎は午前中、雨でしたが、午後になって晴れ上がり、暫く乗ってなかったＴＴを運転して前橋のスーパー「みのり館」へ野菜を買いに行きました。ここは種類が多く安いです。しかも採りたて。

上顎洞 術後経過を 診てもらう

　今日の午後、高崎医療センターへ行ってきました。半年以上前に上顎洞の下部を手術しましたが、その術後の経過観察を口腔外科の医師に診てもらうためです。このためレントゲンも撮りました。

　自覚症状としては痛くもなく、不快なこともなく、私としてはすでに治ってる感覚ですが、来年の１月下旬にまた経過観察することになってます。

あちこちで 赤い実、目を惹く 今の時季

西南に 毎日眺める 荒船山

　写真上は玄関前の三波石で、推定重量は１トン以上です。６０年前に鬼石町の下久保ダム付近から父が購入しました。石の上が平らで恰もテーブルマウンテンのようです。私は春から夏にかけ、この上にアマリリスなど花が咲いた植木鉢を置いて飾ります。

　一方、下の写真は群馬の西南に構える荒船山【標高１４２３m】です。実際の荒船山は私の家の窓からよく見えます。また、広い頂上に４回登りました。

　それにしても、荒船山は誠にユニークな山容を誇っています。登山は容易ですが、崖の上に柵がありません。ですから、時に２００m滑落する人がいます。充分に気を付けなくてはなりません。

倉賀野小学校の下校指導に意義を見出す

　写真は夏のものですが、今日は倉賀野小児童の下校指導があり、午後２時から通学路内の信号に立ちましたが、最初に低学年が来てから、その後、殆ど来なくなり、高学年が来るまで１時間も待ってました。

生活で 重要なことは バランスか

　写真は倉賀野一高いマンションの最上階から西に向かって撮った写真です。家が密集してるように感じますが、実際は空き地や庭が広く、密集してません。私の家は、中央に見える屋根の大きい家です。

暫くぶりに 鏑川まで 往復１０K歩く

近所に住む 元気な女性 急逝す

　一人で暮らしている私は家の中にいるか、庭で植物の作業してるので、一日中、人と話す機会は殆どありません。

　昨日はスーパーのレジの人と二言三言ぐらい、それと今月から民生委員になった若い５０才前後の女性が訪ねて来てくださり、庭で作業してた私に「お元気ですね。」と確認に来られ、あれこれ話されました。

　そしたら、驚いたことに、私の家から三軒ほど東でやはり一人暮らしの女性Sさんが急逝し、近所の人に発見されたと教えてくれました。亡くなった女性は以前に多くの人前で私に向かって「ワクチン打った？私は先程打ってきました。」と大きい声で言った人です。打つ打たないは個人的なことなのに、何故、人前で、と私は思いました。

　これを聞いて「もしかして注射をしたことで具合が悪くなった」のでは、と感じました。というのは70代前半で車の運転はするし、元気で話好きの方だったからです。とても急逝するとは考えられないからです。

　ところで、昨日の庭仕事の一つは、以前に切った木の切り株の残りを鋸で20分程かけて切りました。結構、力仕事です。ご覧の通り、中から年輪が現れ、拡大してみると20年ほど経過してることが分かります。切断面の凹凸から判断して、人間も樹木も年輪を重ね、いろんな苦難を経てることが分かりました。

若木の 今後が楽しみ 源平枝垂れ

　1本の木であっても紅白に八重の花が咲く「源平枝垂れ」が築山に植わってます。本来は桃の木ですが、花と樹形を楽しむ古来からの樹木と想われます。

　写真の幼木は４年前に、その「源平枝垂れ」から実生で生えた子供で、生後２年目の未だ柔らかいうちに私が幹を少しずつ曲げて紐で縛っておきました。そして１年経過してから紐を解いたら、樹形がそのままで成長しました。

　今までも幾本か試行錯誤でこの作業を行い、既に庭に植わってるものもありますが、今回の写真の「源平枝垂れ」はなかなか風流な樹形を表現し、これが成長し、近未来に紅白の花を咲かせれば、芸術的に味わい深い姿になるかもしれません。

　私は園芸士でないので、見よう見まねでこの作業をしてますが、今までで最も良く出来たと思います。きっと、人間の子供に似てて小さなときこそ大切で、親や周囲の接し方、導き方で生涯の基盤ができのでしょう。

　これからも日当たり具合や水遣り、適度な肥料などを通して、光合成を促し、年々成長するよう見守っていきます。来春には開花するので見にいらしてください。

　Even if it is a single tree, "Weeping bicolored peach" which blooms in red and white with double petals, is planted on the artificial hill named tsukiyama in the garden. It is originally a peach tree, but it is thought to be an ancient tree that enjoys the flowers and the shape of tree.

　The young tree in the photo was a child that grew from a seedling of the "Weeping bicolored peach" four years ago, and while it was still soft at its second year, I bent the trunk little by little and tied it with a string. And after one year passed, when the string was untied, the shape of the tree remained as it was.

　I have tried this work several times so far through trial and error, and some of them are already planted in the garden, but the "Weeping bicolored peach" in the photo expresses a very elegant tree shape as you see, and it may grow artistically and tastefully in the near future.

　"I'm not a horticulturist, so I'm doing this work by imitation, but I think it's the best I've ever made." Like a human child, it is important when they are small, the way of treatment and guidance by their parents or those around them will make the foundation for child's future live.

　I will continue to promote photosynthesis through the appropriate sunlight, watering, and suitable fertilizers, and watch over the plants as they grow year by year. It will bloom next spring, please come and see it.

　今日１２月１５日は、我が家では昔から「屋敷祭り」の日です。と言っても、一人で住んでる家屋敷ですから寂しい祭りで、昔、両親が行ってた行事を想い出しますが、近年は供物を供えるだけです。

　祠に向かって祈願することは、娘たち家族の平安をはじめ、可能であれば今の生活状況を改変すること。英単語を使えるように記憶できること。若き日に感銘したピアノ曲ノクターン１番、テンペスト１楽章をいつまでも弾けること。何より、豊かな発想力を持ちたいです。

カマキリが 成虫なるには 数パーセント以下

　今まで庭の樹木は葉で覆われていたので気づきませんでしたが、落葉後は枝のみになり、最近、二つのカマキリの卵を発見しました。一つは築山のドウダンツツジに、もう一つは玄関前の牡丹に、いずれも地上から８０cmほどの枝にしっかり固定されてます。

　調べてみると、一つのカマキリの卵から生まれる子供の数は１００～２００匹とのことで、この二つでは多ければ４００匹ほど誕生することになります。卵は来春４～５月頃に孵化し、1cmほどの小さなカマキリがこの中から繋がって出てきそうです。

　ところが、現実は厳しく、幼虫は野鳥などに食べられたり、共食いもすると言われてます。ですから、一つの巣から生き残って成虫になれるのは４～５匹のようです。自然の摂理はよく出来ていてすべてが成虫に成ったら、庭がカマキリだらけになってしまいます。

　カマキリは肉食で主に小さな虫を食べますが、人間の驚異であるスズメバチを捕まえたり、その他、トカゲやカエルを捕食するといわれます。カマキリを観察すると、常にじっとしており、獲物を追いかけず、待ち伏せ戦法です。

　確かに、近年、庭でカマキリを見かけます。この理由の一つに、私が植物に殺虫剤や除草剤を使用しないからでしょう。毛虫が発生すると枝を棒で叩いて落下させます。毛虫は地上に落ちるともう登れません。

　今後も、カマキリや他の昆虫のため、延いては私自身の健康のために殺虫剤を使用せず、８月中旬からコオロギ、スズムシの合唱が楽しめる庭をめざします。

いつ見ても ユニークな山容 荒船山

　写真は昨日、日没直後に撮りました。私の家の窓から見て西南西の方角にある荒船山【１４２３m】です。絵に描いたように典型的なテーブルマウンテンで、子供の頃から「不思議な形をした山」と感じてました。このため、今まで４回登頂しました。

　端から端まで歩くと１時間ほどかかり、周囲は２００mほどの断崖絶壁で滑落したら一巻の終わりです。もちろん、柵はありません。ですから逆に景色は最高で、日本アルプス、大きな浅間山、そして、眼下に広い神津牧場が見えます。

　倉賀野から見て、現在の日没の方角は、この荒船山よりもっと南です。そういえば、最初に登った高校生のとき、登山中の苦労や、登頂した喜びの印象を作曲したことがあります。

　残念にも、その楽譜はどこかに行ってしまいました。もしかして、シューベルトの「未完成」のように作曲家の死後３０年ほどして楽譜が発見されるでしょうか。その時は「荒船シンフォニー」と命名してください。

　The photo was taken yesterday evening, just after sunset. Mt. Arafune [1423m] is located in the west-southwest direction from the window of my house. As you can see in the picture, it is a picturesque typical Table Mountain. Ever since I was a child, I have felt that the mountain has a strange shape. So far, I have climbed the mountain four times.

　若き日は、榛名山のすべての峰に登りました。意外なことに、殆どの峰から富士山が見えます。山頂で景色を眺めながらの語らいほど楽しいことはありません。山登りの思い出は強烈なので、すべてよく覚えていますが、同行した友人たちはすでに天に召されてます。自然は不変でも、人生は意外と短い。

若き日の 国際交流 蘇る

　この写真は、ニュージーランドからの英語指導教師Barry Spenceさんと、そのご一家にお会いした頃の若き日のものです。

　思い起こすと、彼らと初めてお会いした場所は文部省の庭でした。その後、新幹線で高崎まで来て、その日から1週間ほど、ご家族ともども我が家に宿泊し、その後、彼らの住まいが決まり、引っ越しました。Barryさんは高崎商業高校で教鞭をとられ、娘さんセラーちゃんは当時小学生で、塚沢小に転入しました。

　しかし、ほぼ毎週土曜日の晩は我が家で過ごされ、家族同士で楽しく過ごしたものです。夕食が始まる前に、私は「両国の恒久平和と繁栄を願って」などと言い、ピアノでニュージーランド国歌を弾いたものです。

　その昔、私も２０代のときインドに滞在してたことから、インドの方々に親しくして戴いた当時が蘇ったのでしょう。日本語が分からない外国の方の不安な気持ちを和らげたり、気遣う気持ちがあったのでしょう。英語教育という大きな使命で来日されたのですから、私はスペンス一家を心から歓待しました。

　一年間の滞在の後、帰国されましたが、その後、彼らとは手紙でやり取りし、一度だけ日本で会ったことがあります。現在は、フェイスブック友人として互いに現況が分かり便利な時代です。私もいつの日か、ニュージーランドへ行って彼らと再会し、ニュージーランドのお酒で乾杯したい。そんな日が来るだろうか。

　This photo was taken when I was young, and the time when I met English teacher Mr. Barry Spence and his family from New Zealand.

　Looking back, the first time I met them was in the garden of the Ministry of Education. After that, we came to Takasaki-city together by the bullet train named Shinkansen and they were staying at my home for about a week. Mr. Barry taught English at Takasaki High School of Commerce, and his daughter Sarah was in elementary school at the time and she transferred to Tsukasawa Elementary School.

　However, almost every Saturday night, they spent at my residence and enjoyed spending time with my family. Before dinner, I used to play the New Zealand national anthem by the piano, saying like "I wish our two nation's eternal peace and prosperity."

　In fact, a long time ago, when I was in my twenties, I had also stayed in India, so I must have brought back those days when I was closed to the Indian people. Perhaps I had a desire to ease the anxiety of foreigners who do not understand Japanese, and I was very considerate of them. Since he came to Japan with the great mission of teaching English for Japanese students, I treated the Spence family with sincerity and respect.

　ご存じの通り、牛乳には三大栄養素（たんぱく質・炭水化物・脂質）がバランス良く含まれ、この他に、カルシウムやミネラルやビタミンも豊富に含まれてます。

　このため、牛乳は「歯の健康維持や骨粗鬆症対策」に優れてます。ところが、飲んだ後はそのままにせず、必ず口を漱ぐ必要があります。乳製品を歯に付けたままにしておくと歯が悪化します。

新みかぼフィルハ―モニック第４０回定期を聴いて

【群馬県南部に聳える東西みかぼ山】

　昨日は「みかぼ未来館」において、新みかぼフィル第40回定期演奏会を聴き、久しぶりに聴くクラシックサクソフォーンの音色に誠に酔いしれました。

　開演と共に始まったプレリュードでは、アルルの女の名旋律に続き、変ホ長調による『すべてを圧倒するかの如く、洗練されたサクソフォーンの透明な音色』が会場いっぱいに響き渡り、特に高いC、Esの音は誠に透き通り、これでもかと言うほど表情豊かな音色が耳に残ります。Sax奏者・伊織氏の音楽芸術性に改めて敬服です。この素晴らしい瞬間を共有でき、稀に見る幸福感を体験できました。

　続いての間奏曲でも、待ちに待ってたとばかり、哀愁味を含みつつ、これまた滑らかな銘旋律を聴衆にたっぷりと訴え、「音楽美とは演奏者の独創的センスによる」としみじみ感じました。メヌエットの後半でも、主旋律フルートとの掛け合いである対旋律に浮き上がるサックスの音色が光り、参りました。

　肝心のチャイコフスキー５番も久々に拝聴し、特に２楽章でホルンのゆったりした温かみある音色に感銘です。終楽章の圧巻は何と言っても、アレグロ・マエスト―ソ。これを聴き、私は青春時代が蘇りました。もちろん、全体として主旋律担当の第一バイオリン奏者の伸びやかにして躍動的な音楽性とともに、今回は視覚的にも心が満ち足りました。

　聴衆の拍手の力強さからも、アンコールのカルメンはテンポ・リズムにおいて「新みかぼフィルの真の一体化」が感じられ、改めて煌びやかなシンバルによる４拍目と次の1拍目のビゼーの創作が私の心を躍動させ、こんな素敵な音楽にシンバル奏者ご自身も、きっと彼女の生涯心に残る宝の瞬間を味わわれたことでしょう。

　一方、私の席はチェロとコントラバス近くであったことから、低弦奏者の全曲を通じて、揺るぎない音色が心に焼き付き、お陰様で重厚な低弦の響きが堪能できました。いつか、「未完成」をお聴かせください。

　次回予定の「フィンランディア」は私も音楽センターで高商吹奏楽部第５０回記念演奏会、及び前高創立１２０周年記念式典で指揮したことがあり、今からみかぼフィルの演奏を楽しみにしてます。次回は彼女と聴きに行きたい。いい年して何言ってるか！

Dear my friends who are interested in Tchaikovsky

　Yesterday, I listened to the concert of New Mikabo Philharmonic Orchestra's 40th regular concert at the "Mikabo Miraikan" in Fujioka-city, and after a long interval, I was truly enraptured with the timbre of classical saxophone performed by my colleague.

　In the prelude that began with the opening of the program, following the famous melody of L'Arlésienne, the hall was filled with the reverberation of the sophisticated saxophone's transparent tone in E-flat major, with particularly high C and Es. The sound of is truly transparent and the richly expressive tone remains in my heart. Freshly I admire the musical artistry of saxophonist Mr. Iori Yoneyama. I was able to share this wonderful moment and experience by the rare sense of happiness.

　In the following intermezzo, as if he had been waiting, he appealed to the audience with a melancholy and smooth melody. and I felt deeply that "the beauty of music depends on the original sense of the performer." Even in the second half of the Menuet, it left a deep impression on my mind that his tone that emerges as the counterpoint which is the interaction with the main melody flute.

　It's been a long time since I listened to Tchaikovsky's No. 5 symphony, and I was particularly impressed by the warm and spacious tone of the horn in the second movement. Listening to this highlight of the final movement "Allegro Maestoso" made me look back on my adolescence. Of course, as a whole, I was satisfied not only with the relaxed and dynamic musicality of the first violinist whom I was impressed with her visual figure as well.

　From the strength of the audience's applause, the tempo and rhythm of Carmen's encore, "the true unity of the New Mikabo Philharmonic Orchestra," can be felt. With such marvelous music, the cymbal player herself must have experienced a treasured moment that will remain in her heart for the rest of her life.

観音山 孫娘と一日 水入らず

石灯籠 頂上に構え 威厳出る

２０代 苦い体験 トラウマに！

　群馬県には飛行場がありません。しかし、日本の真ん中に位置することから、上空には東西南北ではなく、主に北東から南西に、逆に、南西から東北へ飛行機が通過します。訳あって最近の私は飛行機に殆ど乗りません。

　やはり、旅行中のことで、台風【インドではサイクロンと言う】が接近中でも、私が搭乗した飛行機がベンガル湾上空で、そのサイクロンの中に入ってしまったのです。私は主翼のすぐ下に乗ってましたが、窓から見て、今まで見えてた主翼が見えないのです。主翼が取れてしまい、もうだめかと思いました。推定、２００mほど落下したようです。

　ところで、万人に共通する願いは心身共なる健康長寿です。これについて理想の教師といえば、それは１００歳以上で元気に暮らしてる超高齢者と言えます。以前に書きましたが、近隣の阿久津町に住んでおられ、１００歳を超えても上毛新聞「ひろば」に度々投稿されてた滝沢三四吉さんとはどんな人か、ぜひお会いしたくて、私は２回訪ねて話を伺ったことがあります。そしたら私の母と南八幡小学校で同級生であることが分かりました。

　彼の印象は、先ず大らかでユーモアをお持ちで、常ににこにこしながら世間の話をされました。ご家族は先立たれた息子さんのお嫁さんとの二人暮らしでした。

　肝心の健康長寿の問いかけには、先ず、心に余裕がある方と感じました。食事については、何でも召し上がるようですが、特に、植物性たんぱく質が大切と言っておられました。一方、環境的には、滝沢さん宅のすぐ後方は烏川の高い土手です。毎日、この土手に登り、赤城山など上毛三山を眺め、新鮮な空気が吸える環境にあります。

　私たちも「家族との会話」や「文章作り」など言語生活を基盤とし、食事内容を吟味し、適度な運動を心掛け、更には、自らの興味関心ごとにいつまでも心を奪われる生活でありたいものです。
