西南に 毎日眺める 荒船山

　写真上は玄関前の三波石で、推定重量は１トン以上です。６０年前に鬼石町の下久保ダム付近から父が購入しました。石の上が平らで恰もテーブルマウンテンのようです。私は春から夏にかけ、この上にアマリリスなど花が咲いた植木鉢を置いて飾ります。

　一方、下の写真は群馬の西南に構える荒船山【標高１４２３m】です。実際の荒船山は私の家の窓からよく見えます。また、広い頂上に４回登りました。

　いかがでしょう。この二つは似てるでしょう。頂上が平らであることと、右側の断崖絶壁の角度が同じです。

　それにしても、荒船山は誠にユニークな山容を誇っています。登山は容易ですが、崖の上に柵がありません。ですから、時に２００m滑落する人がいます。充分に気を付けなくてはなりません。

　The photo above is the Sanba-stone in front of the entrance, and the estimated weight is more than 1 ton. My father bought it near Shimokubo-Dam in Onishi-town 60 years ago. The top of the stone is flat and looks like Table Mountain. From spring to summer, I place flowerpots with blooming such as amaryllis as decoration.

　On the other hand, the photo below is Mt. Arafune [elevation 1423m] located in the southwestern Gumma prefecture, Japan. Mt. Arafune can be seen from my window. I have climbed this broad summit four times.

　How about your feeling. The two will be similar. The top is flat and the angle of the cliff on the right side is almost the same.

　"Even so, Mt. Arafune boasts a truly unique mountainous appearance." The climb is easy, but there are no fences on the cliffs. Therefore, some people sometimes fall 200m. You have to be very careful.
