懐かしい 内モンゴル旅行の 思い出

　写真の遠方に並ぶのは中国内モンゴル自治区の大平原に散在する「ゲル」で、遊牧民の移動式住居です。中国語ではパオ(包)とも呼ばれてます。組み立て、運搬が簡単で移動しながら、動物と共に生活する遊牧民にとっては祖先から受け継いだ大切な文化です。

　以前に、北京駅から長距離急行に11時間ほど乗り、列車内には「北国の春」が流れ、この音楽は中国大陸の光景にぴったりです。万里の長城の下のトンネルを幾度も潜り、山岳地帯の急勾配では、列車がスイッチバックで登りました。

　つまり、途中で列車の進行方向が今までと逆になりましたが、そのまま目的地である内モンゴルの集寧駅に着きました。宿泊したゲルの中にオルガンがあったので私が中国国歌を弾いたら、居合わせたパーティーの人たちから自然と大きな手拍子が起こりました。

　ここでは動物との暮らしが大切で、私も初めてラクダに乗ったり、ご覧の通り、馬にも乗りました。特に羊が多く、その晩のおかずとしても羊の肉が出てきましたが、日本人の私にはあまり食べられませんでした。内モンゴルではパーティーで幾度も乾杯します。このとき「私はお酒が飲めて良かった」と思いました。

　この旅行は私が飼っていたレース鳩の１羽が日本海を渡り、内モンゴルまで飛んで行ってしまい、そのことを先方からの手紙で知り、私はその鳩に会いに行ったのです。鳩の名前は「日中友好号」で、その鳩の子孫は現在中国内モンゴルにいます。

　In other words, halfway through the travel, the direction of train was reversed, but I arrived at my destination, Jining Station in Inner Mongolia. There was an organ in the gel where I stayed, so when I played the Chinese national anthem, the people at the party naturally started clapping.

　Living with animals is important here, and I also rode a camel for the first time, and as you can see, I also rode a horse. There was a lot of lamb in particular, and the meat was served as a side dish for dinner, but I who is a Japanese person, couldn't eat it very much. In Inner Mongolia, we toast many times at parties. I'm glad I was able to drink.

　On this trip, one of my racing pigeons I kept, crossed the Sea of Japan and flew to Inner Mongolia. The pigeon's name is "Japan-China Friendship Pigeon", and her descendants are now in Inner Mongolia, China.
