井戸水が再度枯れ モーターに呼び水入れる

　以前に書きました通り、私の家が今の場所に引っ越してきた当時は、未だ町の水道が引かれてなく、井戸掘り職人によって井戸を掘ってもらいました。

　その井戸水をポンプで汲み上げ、飲料水として使ってましたが、現在、飲み水は町の水道を使ってます。井戸水は専ら植木に遣る水として使ってますが、群馬県南部では昨年末より雨が降らず、再度、井戸が枯れてしまいました。３日間ほど使わないでいたら、井戸の中に水が溜まり、やっと井戸水が出ました。

　実は、写真のモーターの右下に呼び水を入れる所があり、先程ヤカンで水を入れてからモーターのスイッチを入れ、庭の蛇口を捻ったら、勢いよく水が出るではありませんか。こんなことでも私は嬉しくて、早速、野鳥の飲み水や、咲き出したシャクナゲを十分に潤しました。

I was so happy beyond description that I immediately gave for the wild birds' drinking water and the blooming rhododendron.
