昼と夜の長さは 今日３月１７日がほぼ同じ
今日は３月１７日で、実は、今日が昼の時間と夜の時間がほぼ同じです。群馬県では、今日の日の出は５時５３分で、日の入りは１７時５３分です。これは時刻が多少異なっても、どこでも同じ現象です。
ですから、実際には、春分の日に昼と夜の長さが同じではありません。皆さんがお住いの場所の日の出と日の入り時刻を調べてみてください。
日の出、日の入りの定義は、太陽の上部が出たとき日の出であり、太陽の上部が隠れたとき日の入りです。もし、太陽の中心点で考えれば、春分の日に昼夜の時間が同じです。
ところで、写真は、今朝、日の出直前に撮った月齢２６の下弦の月です。今後、日に日に見かけ上、月は小さくなります。デジカメを手に持って息を止めて撮りました。
上の方に大きなクレーターが見えます。拡大してご覧ください。クレーターは、天体に隕石や彗星、小惑星などが衝突してできたものと考えられてます。月齢２６ということは、太陰太陽暦が使われてた江戸時代以前では今日は２月２６日です。
地球から月までの距離は約３８万㎞です。車の走行距離と比べるとその遠さが実感できます。私が以前に乗っていた「いすゞ１１７クーペ」は２６万キロ走ったので、月まで３分の２ほど行ったことになります。

春分の日・秋分の日には、昼と夜の長さは同じではない！？
現行の日の出、日の入りの定義に従えば、日の出からの移動距離の方が長い。「太陽の『中心』が水平線と一致する瞬間」で考えると、日の出から日の入まで太陽が移動する道のりと、日の入から日の出まで太陽が移動する道のりは、全く同じになり、春分の日は昼夜の時間が同じになる。

時計屋の隣りさんへ・・・こんにちは!
今日は長女の誕生日です。今と違って当時は、未だ出産のとき男は邪魔でしたから、立ち会うことはあまりなかったでしょう。現在は出産室で妻の手を取り、一緒に苦しみ、一緒に喜ぶようです。しかし、私の場合、確か入試で休めなかったと思います。
ところで、本題ですが、春分の日は、確か昼の長さの方が夜の長さより９分ほど長いと思います。
別件ですが、その長女は某所で一緒に飲んだことがあります。
