今になって 一輪挿しの良さを認識

　３日前に女性の来客がある予定でした。しかし、室内が殺風景であることから、私は事前に花を飾ろうと思いましたが、良い花瓶がありません。そのとき、どうしたことか、急に一輪挿しにバラを飾ろうと思い立ちました。私は今まで一輪挿しの良さをほとんど知りません。

　何事も今まで経験しなかったことに良さを感じると新たな世界が生じるものです。男一人の生活でも、今では来客があるときはもちろん、平素でも一輪の花を飾るようにしたいと思います。

　不思議なことに、先日、見えた女性のお孫さんの名は偶然にも「ローズちゃん」だったのです。そのため、彼女は一輪挿しのバラを見て、アメリカにいる孫娘さんを思い出したのでしょう。とても感銘してました。
