先祖の言い伝えを厳守

　この碑は、岩手県宮古市姉吉地区にあり、碑文は「明治29年の津波で、村の生存者はわずか2人、昭和8年の津波では、4人だけだった」と過去の大津波で村民がほとんど全滅した悲惨な状況を今に伝えてます。

　「大津波の悲劇があったことを記録し、何年経過しても用心せよ」と子孫に戒めてます。「津波は、ここまで来る。ここから下には、家を建てるな」と警告してます。村の人たちは先人の教訓を守り続けています。

　ところで、日本中で年々空き家が増えると共に、新築家屋が建設されてます。今後、土地を購入し、家を建てる予定の人は「先人の教訓を厳守するべき」です。

　「土地の位置が高いこと」、「近くに河川がないこと」、「土手の近くでないこと」、「近くに崖がないこと」等、自らの目で十分に調査し、広告に惑わされず、利便性のみに捉われず、自然災害から子供たちの身が守れる土地を購入すべきです。今日は二百十日で、防災の日。
