　今日８月12日は１９８５年(昭和６０年)に、群馬県西南部に位置する御巣鷹山の尾根に日航機が墜落し、乗員乗客５２０名の尊い命が失われた日です。

　地元に住んでることから、今までに３回お線香を手向けに行きました。と言っても、私が住む高崎市から墜落現場までかなりの距離があります。遺族に失礼がないよう配慮しつつ、空いている５月の連休や秋になってから一人で墓参に行きました。

　３回目に訪れたときは、飼育してたレース鳩１５羽程を持って、駐車場から高低差１８０mの現場まで重たい籠を持って登りました。しかし、重たくって一気にはとても登れず、１０mほど登っては休み休みで、やっと着きましたら、現場を毎日管理しに来ている地元・上野村の黒沢さんに会えました。そして、私は５２０名のご冥福を祈り、鳩を飛ばしました。

　黒沢さん曰く、「事故以来、ほぼ毎日現場に来ているが、ここで鳩を飛ばした人はあなたが初めてです。」と言って、鳩を放すのを手伝ってくださいました。鳩は埼玉県側に飛んで行き、翌日、全ての鳩が我が家に帰還しました。

　秋になったら、再度、御巣鷹山に行きたいと思います。次回はソプラノサックスを持参し、坂本九さんの墓前で「上を向いて歩こう」「見上げてごらん夜の星を」を演奏しようと思います。

　August 12th is the day in 1985 (Showa 60) when Japan Air lines crashed on the ridge of Mt. Osutaka in the southwestern district in Gumma Prefecture, Japan. It is the day when the precious lives of 520 crew and passengers were lost.

　When I visited for the third time, I carried about 15 racing pigeons that I had raised and climbed from the parking lot to the site with a height difference of 180m with a heavy cage of pigeons, but it was so heavy beyond imagination that I could not climb 10m at once. After climbing for a while, I took a break, and when I finally arrived at the site, I met a famous Mr. Kurosawa who comes to manage the site every day. And I prayed for the souls of 520 people and released 15 pigeons from the site to my loft.

　Mr. Kurosawa said, "Since the accident, I've come to the site almost every day, but you're the first person to release pigeons here." The pigeons flew to the Saitama Prefecture side, and all the pigeons returned to my loft the next day.

　I would like to go to Mt. Osutaka again in the next autumn." Next time, I will bring my soprano saxophone and play the title of music "Ue o Muite Arukou" that means I will walk with seeing above, and "Miagetegoran yoruno hoshi o" that means look up the stars in night, in front of the singer Kyu-Sakamoto's grave.
