四季を通じて、庭を植物によるキャンパスに

　１１月下旬の今の季節に、これほど目立つ植物も少ないでしょう。しかも、植物名は、私の住んでる町名に発音が似てるクロガネモチです。私の町名は倉賀野町。現在、真っ赤な実をつけ、丈は私の身長より少し高いです。未だ幼木なので、これからの成長が楽しみです。

　実は、昨日の夕方、このクロガネモチを思い切り庭の中でも東南の良い所に植え替えました。もちろん、今の季節は植え替えの時季ではありませんが、根から離したところから掘り出し、土を落とさずに植え替えることができたので枯れることはないでしょう。根の周囲には更に赤玉土と腐葉土を充分に入れ、井戸水を与えました。

　私の秘かな計画は、「庭全体を一枚のキャンパス」と考え、植物による多種の色彩で描こうと思ってます。春から夏にかけては比較的楽に多くの花木が咲きますが、四季を通じても、可能な限り、何らかの花木の植物が咲いて、住んでる私はもちろん、前の道を通過する人の心を潤すことです。

　クロガネモチの良さは冬季の赤い実が特徴ですが、ご覧の通り、常緑樹であり、樹木が成長すればするほど、冬の期間でもバランスの取れた色彩です。しかも、年間を通じて、私たち人間や動物にとって不可欠な光合成を盛んに行います。

　My secret plan is to make the garden a "campus" and paint it with a variety of colors depending on the plants. From spring to summer, many flowers and trees bloom relatively easily, but throughout the four seasons, as much as possible, some kind of flowering trees bloom to nourish the hearts of not only me, but also those who pass by on the path in front of my garden.

　The beauty of Kuroganemochi is that it has red fruits in winter, and as you can see, it is an evergreen tree. The more the tree grows, the more balanced the color becomes even during the winter. Moreover, this plant actively carry out photosynthesis through the year, which is indispensable for us humans and animals.
