美しい声を聴かせる野鳥との共存を図る

　野鳥のメジロが庭の柿を啄んでる様子を捉えることができました。近くで撮っては逃げてしまうので、かなり離れた位置からデジカメでアップで撮りました。野鳥は警戒心が強いので撮影が難しいです。

　実は、先日この柿の木の柿をすべて捥ぎましたが、野鳥が啄んだ跡があるものを、再度、柿の木の枝に差し込んだところ、餌の無い時季だけに野鳥たちは賑やかです。平素から、水はいつでも飲めるようにしてあります。これは半世紀以上に亘ってレース鳩の飼育を続け、毎日朝夕２回餌と水、そしてミネラルの鉱物飼料を与え続けた体験からです。

　考えてみると、人間の生活向上のために側溝の蓋はすべて閉じられ、現在、野鳥は住宅街で水が飲めない状態です。ですから、朝、水を与えておくと、夕刻にはかなり減ってます。また、住宅街には塒となる樹木が少ないことから、大きな常緑樹を植え、野鳥たちに安住の棲家を提供してます。

　ところで、先日、新たに柿の苗木を２本購入し植えました。品種名は「太秋」と「富有」です。桃栗三年柿八年と言われるので、本格的に食べられるのは１０年後でしょう。私にとって、それまで元気に生きなくてならない目標が出来ました。これで私も本格的なカッキーになれるでしょう。

　それにしても、一人暮らしなのに柿の木が３本あっても、食べ切るでしょうか。豊作になったら近所に配ります。柿の栄養は殊のほか多く、特に目、口内、鼻などの粘膜の健康に効能があると言われてます。
