コンクリートを減らし、緑を増やす環境づくり

 

　私が住む群馬県は太平洋側と日本海側のちょうど中間に位置し、中でも、北西部は山岳地帯であることからこれから雪に覆われます。一方、私が住む南部は関東平野の奥まった位置にあり、空っ風が吹きますが、概して雪は降りません。

　子供の頃は度々雪が降り、雪だるまを作ったり、赤い南天の実を目にしてウサギを作ったり、学校では雪合戦して楽しかった憶があります。大工仕事が好きだった私は「オリオン号」と命名した橇(そり)を作り、近くの坂で自ら乗って滑って楽しんだものです。

　当時に比較し、近年、群馬県南部では降雪が殆どなくなり、記憶に新しい今夏の猛暑を振り返っても、これら降雪の減少は世界規模な気候変動の一端と考えられます。

　調べてみると、日本の人口は年々８０万人ほど減少しつつありますが、地球上に住む人類は年々増加し、今年２０２３年には８０億人を超えたと言われ、食糧難の心配があります。地球温暖化に対し、人類一人一人が、自分ができることは何かを考えて実践し、未来の子孫のために地球沸騰化などと言われる気候変動を今のうちに食い止めなくてはなりません。例えば、私たちは可能な限り、これ以上、照り返しが強いコンクリートの庭にせず、土の表面を広く残し、開発と銘打った自然破壊せず、緑豊かな庭づくりなど光合成を促す環境を広げたいものです。

　写真上は、一人暮らしの私には食べ切れないほどの庭の金柑、左下は西隣の家のみかん、右下は東隣の家のみかんで、現在、私の庭の周囲は柑橘類がいっぱいな環境です。

　Compared to those days, there has been almost no snowfall in southern Gumma Prefecture in recent years, and even when we look back on the intense heat of this summer, which is still fresh in our memories, this decrease of snowfall can be considered a part of global climate change.

　According to research, the population of Japan is decreasing by about 800,000 people every year, but the number of humans living on the earth is increasing every year and is said to exceed 8 billion people by 2023. There are concerns about food shortages. Each and every human being must think about what they can do to combat global warming and do what they can to stop climate change, which is often referred to as global boiling. For the sake of future descendants. for example, to the extent possible, we should avoid creating a concrete garden that reflects strong sunlight, leave a large soil surface, avoid destroying nature in the name of development, and create a lush garden to promote photosynthesis.

　In the photo above, there are more kumquats in my garden, I can't eat all alone, the bottom left is the tangerine of my western neighbor, and the bottom right is the mandarin oranges from my neighbor to the east.
