いよいよクリスマスと２０２３年の年末

　年末はピアノに挑戦する時間を多く取ってます。と言っても、速い難しい曲でなく、きれいなメロディーの曲を選んだり、青春時代に弾いた印象に残ってるエチュード(練習曲)を弾いてます。

　このため、技術を伸ばすための曲より、作品が本来持ってる魅力ある曲と、ピアノ音色を味わうことに主眼を置いてます。最近、ピアノの位置を変えたら、日中はご覧の通り、窓から光が入るので弾きやすいです。窓は四重のガラスなので、外の音は全く入りません。

　一人暮らしは一日中、会話の無い生活ですから、我が家では、音と言えばピアノの音だけの世界です。しかし、たまには明るい人間の声も聴きたいものです。年末年始は娘たち家族が宿泊しに来るので楽しみです。おっと、ここだけの話で内緒ですが、子供のみならず大人にもお年玉を用意しておかなくてはなりません。足りるかな。

Dear my overseas friends who like piano music

　During the end of this year, I have a lot of time to try playing the piano. Having said that, I choose music with beautiful melodies rather than fast and difficult pieces, and I play etudes that left an impression on me when I was a teenager.

　For this reason, rather than piano music that are meant to improve my technique, I will focus on enjoying the originally attractive music and tone quality of piano. Recently, I changed the position of the piano, and as you can see, it's easier to play during the daytime because the light comes in through the window. The windows are shut by quadruple glasses, so no outside noise comes in.

　Living alone means there is no conversation all day long, so the only sound in my home is the tone of the piano only except for frequent sound of soprano saxophone. However, once in a while I would like to hear a cheerful human voice. I'm looking forward to the year-end and New Year holidays as my daughters and their families will be coming to stay. Oh, this is just between you and me and lamppost, I have to prepare a New Year's gift for not only children but adult as well. Will it be enough?
