眺めて良し、登って良しの「榛名山」

　写真は私のお気に入り、高崎市の「牛伏山」山頂からの景色で、中央に連なる山は上毛三山の一つ「榛名山」です。この山は多くの峰々が連なってますが、今まで、その殆どを登りました。しかし、昨今は熊の出没があることから、一人での登山はしてません。

　このフェイスブックの最初を飾ってる円錐形をした山の写真も、右から2番目の峰である雌岳(めだけ)山頂から最も右の水沢山を撮ったものです。最初にこの光景に出合ったとき、あまりの美しさに心から感銘したものです。この水沢山周辺が日本列島のほぼ真ん中と言われてます。

　高崎市の児童生徒は、この榛名山の雄姿を仰ぎ見つつ通学することから、多くの小中高の校歌は、この山の気高さと人としてあるべき品格を重ね合わせ、歌われてます。見かけ上、最も高い峰は相馬岳で、この山頂からの景色は関東平野と利根川の蛇行はもちろん、富士山が大きく見えます。

　また、榛名山の中で有名なのは標高１０８０m付近の「榛名湖」です。周囲４キロほどの広大なカルデラ湖で、時折、私はマイナスイオンを感じつつ榛名湖一周ウォーキングをします。季節とともに山容の色彩が変化し、帰路には伊香保の「日帰り温泉」に立ち寄りるのが、孤独にして自由な人生の楽しみになってます。

　The photo is my favorite view from the top of Mt. Ushibuse in Takasaki City. The mountain in the center of the photo is Mt. Haruna which is one of the three well-known mountains in our Gumma Prefecture. As you see, this mountain has many peaks, and I have climbed most of them so far. However, these days, due to the sudden appearance of bears, I no longer climb the mountain alone.

　The photo of the cone-shaped mountain that appears at the beginning of my Facebook page was also taken from the summit of Mt. Medake which is the second peak from the right, is Mt. Mizusawa on the far right. When I first encountered this sight, I was deeply moved by its unique beauty. The area around Mt. Mizusawa is said to be almost the center of the Japanese archipelago.

　Children in Takasaki City walk to school looking up at the majestic sight of Mt. Haruna, so many school songs for elementary, junior high, and high schools are sung this mountain, emphasizing the nobility of this mountain and a person should have the dignity like this majestic figure. Apparently, the highest peak is Mt. Soma, and the view from this summit includes not only the Kanto Plain and the meandering Tone River, but also Mt. Fuji which is the highest in Japan.

　Also, the most famous part of Mt. Haruna is "Lake Haruna" which is around 1080m above sea level. Lake Haruna is a vast caldera lake with a circumference of about 4 km, and I sometimes walk around Lake Haruna while feeling the minus ions. The colors of the mountains change with the seasons, and on the way home, stopping at a day trip hot spring in famous Ikaho Spar has become a pleasant way of living for me who is a lonely and free everyday.
