庭に飛来する野鳥は家族

　庭の花梅や花桃が開花するとシジュウカラやメジロなど小さな野鳥が蜜を吸いにやって来ます。花は下向きのものもあることから、その場合は逆さまになって蜜を吸い、花から花へ機敏に移動します。

　写真上のキジバトが蜜を吸う姿は見られず、こちらは地面に降りて落ちてる自然のものを拾って食べてます。水は私が用意したものを飲み、天気の良い日には時々その飲水器に入って気持ちよさそうに水浴します。水浴すると水が汚れるので、その後、新たな水に入れ替えておきます。

　習性として必ずペアで来るので羨ましい限りです。羽色はレース鳩のように多種多様でなく、ご覧の通り、統一された保護色のみで、これは猛禽類など天敵から見つかり難い羽色と考えられます。

　鳴き方はオスのみポポッポッポ―、ポポッポッポ―の繰り返しです。巣は常緑樹の中で外部から見えない所に作り、現在、産卵～子育ての季節です。庭に野鳥たちが飛来する光景ほど平和な姿はありません。

When the plum and peach bloom in the garden, small wild birds such as tits and white-eyes come to suck nectar. Some flowers face downwards, so in that case they turn upside down to suck nectar and move nimbly from flower to flower.

　The turtledove in the photo cannot be seen sucking nectar; instead, they go down to the ground and picks up fallen natural foods to eat. They drink water that I have prepared for them, and on sunny days they sometimes take a bath in the drinking fountain. The water gets dirty after bathing, so I replace it with fresh water afterward.

　I feel jealous because they always come in pairs as a habit. Their plumage colors are not as diverse as racing pigeons, but as you can see, they only have a uniform protective color which is thought that it is difficult to be found by natural predators such as birds of prey.

　Only males sing a repeating popo-popoh-popo-popoh. The nest is built in an invisible place in an evergreen tree, and it is currently the season for laying eggs and raising chicks. There is nothing more peaceful than seeing wild birds flying into the garden.
