今年の真ん中の瞬間はいつでしょう。

　いよいよ6月も終盤になり、庭では薄紫のアガパンサツが清々しく咲いてます。この花が咲くと、もうすぐ１年の真ん中です。ところで、令和６年の丁度真ん中の瞬間は、一体、いつでしょう。

　今年はオリンピックがある年なので閏年です。しかし、オリンピックがある年が必ず閏年とは限りません。閏年が４年に一度ならば、４００年に閏年が１００回の筈ですが、このまま繰り返すと、閏年が多過ぎて、遠い未来に暦と季節がずれてくることを人類の先達は知ってました。

  

　このため「閏年を４００年に９７回」と決めてくれました。これで季節がずれることなく、人類は安心して当分の間、過ごせるようになりました。しかし、これでも数千年後には季節と暦がずれます。これについては未来の人類に考えてもらいましょう。

　今年は閏年なので一年が３６６日です。これを２で割ると１８３日です。１月から６月までの日数を合計すると１８２日ですから、あと丸１日です。つまり、今年のちょうど真ん中の瞬間は７月２日午前０時です。もうすぐです。

　ところで、私自身、この半年を振り返ってみると、年頭に立てた目標に対し、あまり成果は出てません。心の中に自らに甘い部分が見られます。今年の後半は自らに厳しく生きたい。
