植物の生態と人生を重ねてみる

　枝の広がりを見ると一般住宅の樹木としては、かなり巨木になりつつあるサルスベリですが、７月下旬になって、やっと２分咲きです。下にいると、一見して咲いていることに気づきませんが、よく見ると梢にちらほら咲いている感じです。あと１週間後の８月になれば、フェイスブックを通じて皆さんに満開の様子をご覧に入れられると予想してます。人生に花が咲かない私ですが、サルスベリはこれから情熱的に燃え上がる気配です。

　写真左下は柿沼家の柿です。一昨年、地上から１mほどの幹に新芽が出たことから、私は思い切って今までの幹をすべて切り落としましたら、その新芽がみるみる成長し、昨年既に実が生り、以前より甘かったです。今年は、現在の時点で８０個ほど実が付いており、今後、風雨の激しさや野鳥により減っても、かなり収穫できるでしょう。柿が好きな方は味見にいらして下さい。

　一方、昨日は驚きました。何の気配もなかった場所に急に茎が伸びて来てピンクの花が咲いたからです。むかし、両親はこの植物を「びっくり草」と呼んでました。今朝も私は本当にびっくりぽんです。何しろ、何もない所に急に姿を見せ急に咲くのです。人生も急展開して、良い方向に行けばいいのですが、びっくり草の生き方に肖りたいです。

This year, there are about 80 fruits at the moment, and even if the number is reduced by the strong wind and rain and wild birds, I will be able to harvest quite a lot. 　On the other hand, I was surprised yesterday because a trunk suddenly grew and pink flowers bloomed in a place where there was no sign of anything. My parents used to call this plant "Surprise grass". This morning, I was really surprised. It suddenly appeared and suddenly bloomed. I hope that my life will also develop suddenly and go in a good direction, Therefore I wish I were as lucky as the way of life of the surprise grass.
