Dear my friends abroad who are fond of English
The simultaneous interpretation for your understanding will be done after my radio gymnastics held in the nearby park and breakfast in Japan time.
...................................................
It's September 30th, and there are just over 90 days left this year. In the garden, the Mayumi trees that grew naturally from seeds that were spilled are gradually turning red now, and it's a happy yet sad sign that autumn has arrived in earnest. Meanwhile, looking back at myself, one of my lifelong purpose for Tensei Jingo reading is that I am currently reading two days' worth of the Summer Issue 2024 (Japanese and English version) in one day, and I will be able to finish reading it by mid-October. The next issue will be published in late November.

If I read two days' worth a day, since it's in both Japanese and English, so in fact, it's four days' worth a day. I can grasp the meaning of the Japanese version after reading it once, but English version is not so easy, so when I encounter new newspaper English words every time. I write down the meaning, pronunciation, and example sentences in my vocabulary book, but I can't memorize them all. I believe that "memory comes stay in our brain only when we actually use it."

Not change the subject, but according to the 2023 survey recently released by the international language education organization (headquartered in Switzerland), Japanese people rank 87th in English proficiency among 113 countries and regions where English is not the native speaker. It also ranks 15th out of 23 Asian countries and regions. Japan is considered to have a "low proficiency level"

As you know, here in Japan, people have been learning Roman letters in elementary schools since ancient time. In my opinion, this education has been a major hindrance to the improvement of Japanese people's English proficiency throughout our lives, and even as adults, we Japanese tend to "read English sentences in Roman letters." This mistake has led to a hundred years of misunderstanding. Recently I asked a local elementary school teacher, he said that elementary schools still teach Roman letters. Even 100 years from now, Japanese English will still be lagging behind the rest of the world.

The other day, a lady presenter (not announcer) on a NHK program pronounced voyage as "boyaji." To be precise, if we write it in katakana, it is close to voyage. In Japanese, as you know, there are five vowels only, but in English there are many short vowels, and even in the case of consonants, there are many voiceless sounds that do not exist in Japanese. This kind of pronunciations should be trained like a sport while children's brain is still flexible.

Dear my friends abroad
I just returned home from my eldest daughter's house in Saitama Prefecture by the blue coupe in the photo, through the general roads. It's about 40km one way. Last night, we had a drink and chatted each other together with their two Akita dogs. Unlike usual, I was able to enjoy the fun of being with my family after a long interval. Starting today, I will be spending the day alone again.

Maybe it's because they live near the mountains. I was woken up by a heavy downpour in the middle of the night. How was it in your area?

Not change the subject, but a disaster prevention drill for the Kuragano-kami-4th district will be held in the near park from 9:30 today. A fire engine shaking vehicle will also be there, so we can experience the shaking of a major earthquake. With the Great Tohoku Earthquake and the Noto earthquake and heavy rain disasters in mind, we plan to train with my neighbors as if it were the real occurrence.

Dear my friends
Today, unusually, I went to my favorite coffee shop, "Sambo-michi," in the morning, and while enjoying an iced coffee, I saw the young ladies and felt a strong hope to live. With the owner's permission, I played the piano for about 15 minutes, as usual.

I played a nocturne that I could memorized, a sonatine at a slightly faster tempo, a song for the Tohoku earthquake recovery, "Snow is Falling," and "Besame Mucho," with a series of loud syncopations in the left hand rhythm as photo indicates. As I wrote the other day, it's great to play song melodies by the piano.

In the afternoon, I worked with the local residents to set up tents for the disaster prevention training that will be held in the area tomorrow, and we finished it. Tonight there's a party at my eldest daughter's house, so I will participate.

Dear my friends abroad who are fond of history

The text is long, so I will summarize it.
...........................................
The photo shows a baby Crape Myrtle. Even after repotting, its leaves have not wilted and it is growing well so far. I bought some nutrients yesterday and gave it for her, and as you can see, there is less of the nutrients this morning, so I think the roots are absorbing it. I am raising it on a table, so it's easy for me to work with. If it was lower, I would hurt my back by standing and sitting. No matter how young I feel myself, I can't beat my aging.

In this way, creating an environment that is easy to work, study, or practice are one step to making things go smoothly. I will take care of the baby Crape Myrtle every day from now on, aiming for flowering in the near future. Even in things like this, I enjoy watching the growth of plants, which gives me great hope. In the aging society, it is indispensable for the elderlies to have something to look forward to.

Dear my friends who need evacuation drill
A disaster prevention drill is scheduled for the day after tomorrow, September 29th, in Kuragano Kami-4th district. It will be held at Kuragano Kam-4th Park where radio gymnastics is held every morning. Residents will participate in this disaster prevention drill and it will include artificial respiration using AED, how to use a fire extinguisher, how to escape from smoke, and experiencing shaking by getting on a shaking vehicle.

For this reason, tomorrow evening, the day before, the officials will be preparing to set up the tent as you see in the photo. Setting up tent is quite difficult, and it would be a disaster if a strong wind blew while we are making. It would be difficult to set up unless there were a large number of people.

There have been a lot of natural disasters recently in Japan, so we would like to train seriously, simulating the real disaster. The photo is from a previous time when we set up the tent.

Dear my Facebook friends abroad
The hibiscus you see in the photo starts blooming in May and usually blooms for half a year until October. However, each flower only blooms for one day, so the flower's life is short. Similarly, the crepe myrtle started blooming in July and is still in full bloom at the end of September, but the same flower does not bloom forever. New flowers bloom one after another, as if passing the baton. As proof of this, the petals that have finished blooming have fallen to the ground. However, to us, it looks like it has been blooming forever.

Actually, this hibiscus pot is inside the fence, but only the flower peeks out the outside of the fence, charming people passing by on the road in front. Hibiscus comes in various colors, but the red stands out from afar, blooming as if to say, "This is Kakki's house. Would you like to drop in and have some tea?"

Currently, a Japanese kerria planted by my late father is blooming in the garden. This flower is also a striking yellow. As you know, my personality is plain and unassuming, so the flowers stand out and balance the Persimmon Marsh family.

When I raise flowering trees, I am often fascinated by the colors of nature. In particular, the red plum blossoms that bloom in early spring are generally pink, but each one is subtly different, ranging from pale pink to a pink close to red, which makes for a very appealing sight. I would like to take color into consideration more in my daily life.

The simultaneous interpretation for your understanding will be done after my radio gymnastics held in the nearby park and breakfast in Japan time.
...................................................
I got up at 5am this morning, dug up a young Crape Myrtle that had grown from the seed that had naturally spilled out. So I replanted it in a larger flowerpot, as you can see in the photo. It was still dim outside. Would you please imagine me working alone silently.

As it was a young tree, the roots were not widespread in the ground so that it was relatively easy to dig up, but I was careful not to damage the roots as much as possible and was able to replant it in a blue flowerpot without removing the soil touched the roots. I immediately gave it plenty of water.

Even so, this young tree has beautiful leaves as you see, but it has not yet branches. It will probably branch out from the top next spring. I will keep it for about two years, and for the time being I will continue to water it and raise it, but because Crape Myrtle trees grow into large tree, I will eventually replant it in a suitable location in the garden. By suitable location I mean when it is in bloom.

By the way, how did I know this young tree was a Crape Myrtle? Because it had grown 7-8 meters away from the base of the parent Crape Myrtle. Also, there were already a large number of small red ants gathered around the base of the young tree. These ants have a habit of parasitizing the parent Crape Myrtle. I removed many of them from spring through summer. The flowerpot is already large, but it looks small compared to the young tree, so I am looking forward to seeing it grow well.

The temperature at night has passed the suitable level, and it is beginning to feel cold as autumn approaches. It is reported that the temperature at the summit of Mt. Fuji was recorded at -5°C, even though it is still September. The Japanese archipelago has been experiencing such heatwaves that it has been worrying about the Earth, but due to the Earth's revolution, the climate is finally becoming colder.

By the way, because I am getting older beyond your imagination, I wake up relatively early. I am surprised when I open the window to the east and look at the sky. This is because the sunrise has become later, the famous "Winter Diamond" already shines like a jewel in the dark sky. As the season progresses, it will gradually appear in the middle of the night, and after December it will appear after sunset.

As you know, there are 21 first magnitude stars in the entire sky, and six of these make up the outer frame of the "Winter Diamond." They are Capella in the constellation Auriga, which is almost overhead in the Winter Diamond, going clockwise, Aldebaran in Taurus, Rigel in Orion, the brightest Sirius in Canis Major, Procyon in Canis Minor, and Pollux in Gemini. Of these, the twelve zodiacal constellations are Taurus and Gemini, so the Sun passed through these two constellations during the summer.

Meanwhile, in midwinter, you can see the cluster of stars called Pleiades, which is almost directly above the Japanese archipelago, and this Pleiades is already shining just to the upper right of the "Winter Diamond". The Big Winter Triangle is also located to the lower left of the "Winter Diamond". When the brightest star at the bottom is Sirius, comes due south at midnight, it will be January 1st, 2025.

Dear my friends who like spa and cafe
Until yesterday, I wore shorts and short sleeves both at home and when going out, but starting today I'm wearing long sleeves and long trousers. "It's hot until the autumnal equinox, it's cold until the vernal equinox" in Japan and the temperature has suddenly dropped in Gumma prefecture where I live. Everyone, be careful not to catch a cold.

This afternoon, I went to Yoshii-town's day spa named "Ushibuse Dream Center" to warm myself up, and on the way back, I drove by my blue car to spent some time at my favorite cafe, Sampo-michi.

The photo shows the view from the top of Mt. Ushibuse, which we can reach by car, with Takasaki-city in the foreground, Maebashi-city in the distance, and Mt. Akagi in the background.

Kuragano-town where i live has two irrigation reservoirs, the "Old irrigation" and the "New irrigation" which is usually called the "Carp Pond." As you can see in the photo, the "New irrigation is a large reservoir. According to the inscription, construction began in 1783 (Tenmei 3) and took four years to complete in 1786. The Tenmei era was a rare and difficult time, because a major eruption of Mt. Asama in July 1783, causing 20-30cm of volcanic ash to fall in my Kuragano area, dealing a devastating blow to the fields. After that, bad weather caused poor harvests, resulting in the so-called Tenmei Famine.

After that, the new reservoir was built to overcome these difficulties, and has irrigated the fields in the eastern and southeastern parts of Kuragano-town. Although it is now slightly narrower than when it was first built, it still functions as an active irrigation reservoir, and creates a unique waterside landscape with migratory birds flying in all four seasons.

In fact, when I dig up my garden I still find a lot of Asama's volcanic sand that is thought to have been collected at that time. For this reason, it is possible that my house is built on land where volcanic ash was collected (ash mound). As a result, the garden has excellent drainage, which is beneficial for plant growth.

As for the old irrigation, I had once come here to sketch with my homeroom teacher when I was in elementary school. At the time it was estimated to be about 80m x 80m, and I remember it as a large pond in my child's mind. However, in the 1950s, when Kuragano Nursery School opened, the southern half of the pond was filled in to make way for the school, and today only the northern half remains.

Dear my friends abroad who like respiratory and indispensable music
The simultaneous interpretation for your understanding will be done after my radio gymnastics held in the nearby park and breakfast in Japan time.
...................................................
Recently, I mostly walk from my house to Kuragano-Greenery-Park and back. However, yesterday evening, for the first time in a while, I walked from the bank of Kabra-River, where is near my mother's hometown, across the long Shin-Kabra-River Bridge shown in the photo, to the Fujioka City sign, and back, so the distance was about 4km, I guess.

Actually, this is the area where my mother (born in Meiji 34) often told me when she was alive, "When she was a child, her mother (born at the end of the Edo period, around 1860) took her to the bank of Kabra River and she saw a big 'comet'." When I looked into this story, I found that it was Halley's Comet that appeared in 1910 (Meiji 43), when my mother was about 10 years old, I guess. Halley's Comet appeared much larger this time, unlike its appearance in 1986 (Showa 61), so that my mother was very moved even though she was a child, as the result, the scene seems to have been burned into her mind for the rest of her life.

By the way, while thinking about such old times, I walked at a moderate speed. Yesterday, I was conscious of the expansion and contraction of my respiratory muscles, and moved forward while taking deep breaths, so to speak, by "inhaling air through my nose with four steps and exhaling through my mouth with four steps." However, when I thought about something, I suddenly returned to natural breathing unconsciously.

After researching, I found that the lungs themselves are like bags that do not expand and contract by itself, but are expanded and contracted by the respiratory muscles around the lungs. The diaphragm is one of the most typical respiratory muscles, and there are several other respiratory muscles in the chest, abdomen, back, etc. Therefore, in addition to the function of the diaphragm, by "increasing the flexibility of the respiratory muscles," the range of motion of the rib increases, therefore we can inhale and exhale air properly.

Strangely enough, by exhaling deeply, we can then inhale air naturally. This is thanks to the respiratory muscles. These muscles are always expanding and contracting without being conscious of them, and we must truly appreciate the muscles.

Dear my friends who like beer and music
Today, the autumnal equinox day, I noticed that a Yamabuki flower was blooming in the garden. This was also planted by my late father around fifty years ago, and I often saw it when I was young. It has only just started to bloom, so that I'm sure it will bloom more in the near future.

By the way, I am overweight, so I often eat Japanese buckwheat for lunch, as recommended by my doctor. After researching, I found that the rutin contained in buckwheat strengthens capillaries, lowers blood pressure and blood sugar levels, and is an ingredient that helps prevent lifestyle-related diseases such as arteriosclerosis, diabetes, and cerebral infarction. However, I am not losing weight easily. and I get bored of eating buckwheat every day, so I only eat it about three times a week.

The rain has stopped in Takasaki-City, so in the evening, I will go for a walk along the bank of the Kabra-River after a long interval. I will try not to eat too much at dinner. Please forgive me for the small beer can.

Dear my Facebook friend as an earthling
Today is the Autumnal Equinox day. The sun as seen from our Earth has reached the Autumnal Equinox point. Where is the Autumnal Equinox point in the sky? It is the point where the sun crosses the celestial equator in the constellation Virgo (left photo). However, Virgo cannot be seen by sunlight. Virgo is best seen in spring, six months from now. In particular, the star Spica, which is part of this constellation, is famous for a first magnitude star near the ecliptic.

Meanwhile, on this Autumnal Equinox day, where exactly is the Earth on our orbit? It is in the direction of Pisces, where the Vernal Equinox point is located. The Vernal Equinox is where the sun crosses the celestial equator just below Pisces (right photo). Of course, there is no sign in the sky. Pisces is very similar in shape to India, so it is easy for us to see. In this way, to find out the current position of the Earth on its orbit, we had better look at the Zodiac (constellations used in fortune telling) located due south at midnight.

By the way, on the Autumnal Equinox day in countries located directly on the equator, the sun rises due east and "passes directly overhead," which means that its altitude is 90°. It then sets due west. on the other hand, in Japan, the sun also rises due east and sets due west. The solar altitude at noon is 53.8° [Gumma Prefecture]. Incidentally, 90° - 53.8° = 36.2°, which is the latitude within Gumma Prefecture.

I'm actually writing this article at 5am in the morning, and it's quite cool this morning. They say it's hot or cold until the equinox, but in this pleasant temperature I thought about the Autumnal Equinox day in terms of the movements of the sun and earth and constellations. To summarize the Autumnal Equinox day, in the universe today, Virgo - Sun - Earth - Pisces are lined up in almost a straight line.

Dear my friends abroad
The simultaneous interpretation for your understanding will be done after my radio gymnastics held in the nearby park and breakfast in Japan time.
...............................................
The photo shows a persimmon that has grown. It has become heavy so that the branches are hanging down. So I push them up from below with a bamboo stick. The fruit was astringent, so about three years ago I decided to cut the trunk and let new buds raise. They grew and started to bear fruit last year, and at that time, they were delicious. It is an important idea to prune it after all.

The red flowers in the background are crape myrtle, and they are still in full bloom. The branches are also hanging down the same as my heart due to the weight of the flowers, as you know I am tall and have to bend down to pass through between the branches. From next year, I will lift the branches from a high position with a string for visitors.

Today is September 21st, by the way, starting today, the National Autumn Traffic Safety Campaign will begin in Japan. Tomorrow, September 22nd, is the Autumnal Equinox day. From this day, the hours of day and night will be reversed, dusk will come earlier, and the nights will be longer. Vehicles should turn on their lights earlier, and pedestrians should wear bright clothing or luminous reflective materials to make their presence known.

In particular, there is a continuing trend of extremely dangerous driving while looking at their smartphone. We have to eradicate the habit of "walking while using a smartphone" and "using a smartphone while riding a bicycle," which makes them concentrate on the screen.

This morning I listened to lectures from three economic experts at a securities company in front of Takasaki Station and considered my future economic measures. As I expected, today's Nikkei average is amazing. However, I do not invest the Japanese stocks, so unfortunately there is no benefit to me.

Actually, last night I unexpectedly went the tavern named "BAKU" in Takasaki. By chance, my friend came, too, I ended up drinking too much, so that the afterglow is still lingering today, leaving me a little tired. For this reason, I will relax at "Sambo-michi" in the afternoon. It is about 2km from my house, so I would normally walk there, but since Takasaki city is expected to be extremely hot in the afternoon today, therefore, I will go by the Audi blue coupe and cool off.

Dear my friends
While most Japanese people were asleep, the US economy made a big move from last night to this morning.

The New York stock market on the 19th local time was a sharp rebound in buying, as investors welcomed the large interest rate cut by the Federal Reserve Board (FRB). The Dow rose by $42,000 from the previous day's closing price, while the Nasdaq, which is made up of high-tech companies, rose by 18,000.

At the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting held on the 18th, the Fed decided to "cut the policy interest rate by 0.50%." This is the first interest rate cut in four and a half years since March 2020 during the COVID-19 crisis, and expectations are spreading that the shift to monetary easing will support the US economy, leading to a significant rise in both the Dow and the Nasdaq.

This 0.50% cut in the policy interest rate is truly significant, and will have a major impact on Japan over the weekend. Even with my humble predictions, I expect the Nikkei average to rise significantly today.

This morning Japan time, the Dow rose 522 points to 42,025, and the Nasdaq rose 440 points to 18,013.98 points.

Dear my friends who are interested in phase of the moon
Tonight's moon is the Izayoi moon in Japanese that means 16th night of the moon phase. When the sunlight hits it head-on, like last night, it's a full moon, but if we look closely tonight's moon, we can see that a small part of the upper right corner is waning. You can also see the unevenness of the mountains on the moon surface.

Even so, when the moon rises in the eastern sky in Japan, like tonight, the pattern on its surface looks like a rabbit pounding rice cake. After that, about one fifteenth of the moon's surface is missing from the upper right corner each day. When it is finally missing, it will be October 3rd, which is September 1st in the lunisolar calendar, and after that, late autumn will finally come in Japan.

From today onwards, the time the moon rises will be around 50 minutes later each night, and from October 4th it will reappear as a thin moon in the western sky in the evenings.

Dear my friends abroad
The simultaneous interpretation for your understanding will be done after my radio gymnastics held in the nearby park and breakfast in Japan time.
...............................................
According to population estimates, Japan's aging rate is expected to be 30.1% in 2024. This is the percentage of the total population over 65 years old. Therefore, the aging rate is increasing year by year.

As I get older, I realize that I used to have friends to play with, but now I don't. Even though I was born and raised in Kuragano-town, I hardly meet any of my 200 classmates in Junior High School, when I walk around the town of Kuragano. I wonder where they all went.

Even so, when I meet a man, I immediately say "Hi," but I almost never meet a female classmate. In this social situation, it is important to have the "habit of playing alone" even when we get older. It is essential to acquire one or two hobbies that we can be passionate from a young age.

It is also important to have dreams even as we get older, and to have purposes. Without purposes, we will not be able to live a lively life. As we get closer to our goal and feel even a small sense of accomplishment, our days will surely become more enjoyable. Also, we should always be involved with our local community, even if it is something small, continuing to do work that helps others will give us a sense of responsibility and will give us a sense of purpose in life as a member of society.

As mentioned above, being able to immerse ourselves in the things we love is a privilege of the elderly, but adventure is also important for us. Even if there is some risk, if we become cautious and there is nothing scary or dangerous, you will not be able to have an interesting experience. Adventure is not just for young people or middle-aged people, but also a privilege of the elderly who have plenty of time. We want to always challenge ourselves and continue to have ``experiences that never rust and shake our souls.''

Dear my friends who are interested in phase of the moon
Last night [September 17th] was the "Harvest Moon", but unfortunately the sky in Takasaki City, Gumma Prefecture was cloudy so that we couldn't see the moon. However, when I opened the window at 4am this morning, the sky was clear and, as you can see in the photo, the yellow full moon was shining beautifully in the western sky. There probably aren't many people to see it at this time. To me, the moon looked a little lonely.

In General, we tend to think that the Harvest Moon is full moon" that rises in the eastern sky, but when I looked it up, I found that last night's phase of the moon was 14.7, and when I looked closely, I found that it was not a full moon every year, because there is a slight eclipse in the upper left. However, when the moon went to the western sky, that is, after 10 hours had passed, it became a full moon, as you can see in the photo.

However, if you look at the photo, you will notice that the pattern on the moon's surface is different from when it rises in the east [like a rabbit pounding rice cakes on the moon]. The direction has changed by about 90 degrees clockwise. This is because the Earth rotates anticlockwise, and the angle from which we view the moon changes over time.

Therefore, even when it rises in the east, the patterns on the moon's surface will look different depending on the country. This depends on the latitude of the Earth from viewing it by humans. If you view it near the equator or in the southern hemisphere, it will look quite different from viewing in Japan. Tonight, the 18th, the moon rising in the east in Japan will be 15.3 in phase, making it a full moon. It will look like a rabbit pounding rice cakes as usual.

Dear my friends who like coffee and piano music
Today, I spent about an hour and a half at the cool cafe "Sambo-michi" from around 3pm, and felt comfortable both physically and mentally. I was able to chat with the lady owner for a while with drinking iced coffee. This time was very meaningful for me. This is my principle of "having casual conversations with people I encounter," and I feel that this is essential in my future life as well.

In fact, if I don't do this, I won't have opportunities to talk because I live alone. In this respect, it is important for me to be proactive. When he or she responds to me, I hear that and it gives me new ideas, therefore, it becomes a dialogue.

Today, I played the German piano with the nice tone quality you see in the photo for about 15 minutes. Since tonight is the "Harvest Moon," I played a few music, including "Autumnal Moon" and "The moon at ruins of the Castle," both were composed by Rentaro Taki who was the famous Japanese composer. I played the usual "Snow Falls," which is one of my theme music. When playing, I don't hung up on the tempo, and I feel that music is more fun when I forget time, like singing solo.

Dear my friends abroad
The simultaneous interpretation for your understanding will be done after my radio gymnastics held in the nearby park and breakfast in Japan time.
.................................................
Tonight is the harvest moon named "Juhgoya" in Japanese. "Jugoya" is the moon that is on the 15th day of the 8th month of the lunar calendar. For this reason, this is just to review, "Juhgoya" is always set to be Butsumetsu that means unlucky day every year. By the way, the order of the Rokuyo 6days is Sensho-Tomobiki-Sensho-Butsumetsu-Taian means lucky day-Shakko, it is the first day of a month in the lunar calendar at the same time the day of the 6th.

January 1st in the lunar calendar starts with Sensho, February 1st with Tomobiki, March with Senpu, April with Butsumetsu, May with Taian, June with Shakko, and similarly, July 1st starts with Sensho, August with Tomobiki, September with Senpu, October with Butsumetsu, November with Taian, and December 1st with Shakko.

On the other hand, autumn in the lunar calendar means early autumn is in July, mid-autumn in August, and late autumn in September. As mentioned above, August 1st on the lunar calendar begins on Tomobiki, so if we count the days in order, August 15th on the lunar calendar will always be a day of Butsumetsu of unlucky day. For this reason, the Harvest Moon will always be a day of Butsumetsu for all eternity. In this way, the Rokuyo calendar determines annual events.

For example, the old Hinamatsuri for girl's festivalon March 3rd falls on Taian every year. The astronomically correct old Tanabata Vega Festival is set every year as Sensho good day, and on this night, Hikoboshi Altair and Orihime Vega cross the Milky Way on a half moon in the shape of a bowl boat at dusk on the seventh day of August in lunar calendar, allowing them to meet once a year. The person taking the lead will always win in love world.

Dear my friends abroad
I never had the habit of drinking coffee. But when I think back to my childhood, I remember how delicious the coffee milk which was sold near the ticket counter at the public bathhouse after I got out of the bath.

I never drank coffee after that. But recently, after having iced coffee at my favorite cafe, "Sampo-michi," I started drinking coffee at home too. I don't like sweet coffee, so I buy unsweetened coffee and add milk to it, which makes it taste good, therefore I've become addicted to drinking it recently.

After researching, I found out that coffee has the effect of "opening the trachea" so that it has health benefits as well. I drink one cup in the morning and one cup in the afternoon to clear my head. It all started with my Facebook friend "Ms. Atsuko", I appreciate her.

Dear my friends abroad
The simultaneous interpretation for your understanding will be done after my radio gymnastics held in the nearby park and breakfast in Japan time.
.................................................
Today, September 16th, is Respect for the Aged Day in Japan. My thoughts on exercise to promote health have been changing a little recently. In the past, I walked a certain distance. However, in general, muscle mass tends to decrease with age, so I am not only walking, but also devising ways to apply stress because "muscles only develop when we are subjected to stress." I believe that muscle mass should not be reduced at any time, regardless of gender.

Exercising in a place with good air like this photo is ideal for cardiopulmonary function, so I will continue to do from now on. At the same time, as you can see, there are stairs here and there on the bank, and if we use them to go down to the bottom and then climb up again, we will notice a load on our legs and hips that is completely different from walking. That moderate load is based on "Lou's Law."

On the other hand, generally speaking, there is something that we find it difficult to notice about ourselves as we age. That is "correct posture." For this reason, it can't be helped. It's a method of "learning from others' mistakes." As we age, our back muscles tend to stretch. Arching our body is effective for this muscle, so I sometimes incorporate this exercise into my routine, and when I walk I try to be conscious of my back, stick our chest out, and look into the distance. Poor posture is not good for our stomach or lungs. When we walk and look into the distance, our eyes receive a different amount of information.

It's been a very hot summer this year, but today next week is the Autumnal Equinox day in the northern hemisphere. No matter what, it will be different from previous years and more autumnal. This time, let's make nature our ally and walk with a slightly longer stride.

Dear my friends abroad
The simultaneous interpretation for your understanding will be done after my radio gymnastics held in the nearby park and breakfast in Japan time.
..............................................
【Interpretation is summarized due to long sentences
My father, who passed away about 40 years ago, explained that my paternal grandfather and grandmother were born relatively close to each other, about 400 meters away, and had known each other since childhood. The place was called "Haramichi-Village," in what is now Otone Town, Saitama Prefecture. The Tone River flows just behind both houses, and at the time the area was bustling with the traffic of transport ships connecting Tokyo and Kuragano in Joshu (now Gumma Prefecture).

It is estimated that around 1877, my grandmother reached marriageable age, and as it was a long time ago, she married and moved to Tochigi Prefecture, probably not of her own will but by her parents' recommendation, and had children. However, after a while, she left her child behind in her husband's home and was reunited with my grandfather named Kakinuma, who she had known well for a long time. The two of them hid from the local villagers and went to the Tone River behind the village, where they got on a transport ship that had come from Edo. With only the clothes on their backs, they asked the boatman to let them on board, saying, "We'll go far away, where we don't know anyone." They finally reached the Kuragano Riverbank, about 70 kilometers upstream from Haramichi Village, where they knew no one.

Even though they were worried about the child they had left behind in Tochigi-Prefecture, they temporarily lived in a cheap lodging house at the time, and their passion for being with the person they loved fueled them to work hard, and they were finally able to open a hardware shop named "Haramichiya" at their new hometown. Some time later, my grandmother had a tearful meeting with her "unforgettable child" that she had left behind in Tochigi, and I imagine she must have been feeling very emotional. She later took the child in, and he graduated from Kuragano Elementary School. Later, my father, who was born in Kuragano, took over Haramichiya, and much later I was born as the sixth child in the shop.

Dear my friend who like piano music
When I practice piano at home, I often play Czerny No. 30, which I learned in my adolescence, as a warm-up. The sheet music in the photo, in particular, in G minor, has a beautiful melody, and I feel that it is suitable for practicing the ideas of the music as well as practicing my fingers.

In particular, the middle section has a dynamic interplay between the melody in the left hand and the counter-melody in the right hand, and the gradually building up ideas of the expression. Movement like this, which have independent movements in the left and right hands, are the ultimate joy of playing the piano. One of the great performances about playing the piano is that I can play two melodies at the same time by my both hands.

Etudes with excellent melodies are attractive to me and worth playing. I'm not performing in any external recitals anymore, so I only play the piano as entertainment when I have guests. With the piano, I'm looking for a taste for the melody and, ultimately, a good tone quality.

It's never too late to learn an instrument. The best time to start is now. I started playing the piano when in high school and still enjoy it every day.

Dear my friends who like the traditional festival
Japan used to be known as the "Land of Four Seasons". However, the days when we could enjoy spring and autumn are getting shorter year by year. In recent years we feel like there are only two seasons, summer and winter. There has been an old saying that "It's hot and cold until the equinox day", but today is also a summer day, and if the national environments continue like this, we have to amend it to "It's hot and cold until after the equinox day". Even so, when it's hot, when we get showers, but, sometimes the rain is extremely heavy, and it's true that the climate has changed from before.

By the way, the terrible sound of thunder in the middle of the night the other day was so terrifying that it sounded like the earth was rumbling. I have rarely experienced before. In fact, that night in Kuragano-town, lightning struck the float storehouse of Kanmuri Inari Shrine in Yoko-machi district, and a fire broke out and the float was completely burned. I guess, this float was probably used in the Kuragano Festival on the evening of January 14th since around the end of the Edo period.

This morning, I went to the site and saw the damage caused by the lightning strike with my own eyes, and I felt the terror of nature. Two tall ginkgo trees in the vicinity were also burned and browned by the flames. Since childhood, I had heard that "lightning strikes" , but this was the first time I saw the site of lightning strike. However, it was lucky it wasn't worse that the fire did not spread to the main hall of the adjacent Kanmuri Inari Shrine in the photo. I sincerely hope that the float of Yoko-Machi will be restored.

Dear my Facebook friends who like crepe myrtle
Since there are many kinds of trees planted in the garden, their seeds naturally fall off every year and various offspring are born. The most common are offspring of the Genpei weeping peach. Genpei means bicolor. However, it is impossible to grow all of them, so I am currently raising three trees to become the main focus of the garden as the next generation. Genpei weeping peach is one tree that bloom in red and white, but due to Mendel's laws of inheritance, the offspring can actually be divided into red only, red and white, pink and white, striped, etc.

The photo shows a baby of bright red crepe myrtle that is currently in bloom. This is the first time this child has born. At first glance, the leaves are paired and it looks like a vibrant plant, so I will raise it as it is and replant it in a place away from the fence next spring. Therefore, I have to stay healthy and live forever. I wonder what kind of tree it will grow in the future.

Crepe myrtle is also written as it blooms for about 100 days, so the large crepe myrtle that is currently in bloom has been blooming since July, and will continue to bloom until mid-October, I guess. Please come and see it.

Dear my friends abroad
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, Japan's total population is currently 122.6 million, ranking 12th in the world. (Incidentally, India ranks first with 1.44 billion, and China ranks second with 1.42 billion.) However, Japan's population has decreased by more than 590,000 in one year, which is the 13 consecutive years of decline. On the other hand, the number of people aged 75 and over has exceeded 20 million now, and this number is increasing year by year. In addition, the birth rate does not seem to be increasing still.

In this situation, everyone is getting older equally year by year, and as we get older, our physical movements tend to gradually slow down, starting with the feet, and then affecting our posture. However, fortunately, muscles can be restored by training, so it is indispensable for us to live a positive life every day.
Let's remember the "Lou's Law" that we learned in school. This is the law that "muscle function develops when used moderately, but when not used, it atrophies and degenerates and when used excessively, it causes disorders ." Also, when it comes to building a body, "training, diet, and rest" are the three principles of Lou's Law.

We maintain our lives through the action of the many muscles in our bodies. Therefore, it is important to find time in our life to train the muscles, even as we get older. To do this, it is a good idea to make training a habit in our daily life. From my own clumsy experience, occasionally going up and down the stairs is a good way to train our legs and hips. However, it is important to remember Lou's Law that "overuse causes injury", therefore we should train it in moderation.

Since six months ago, I went shopping at Beisia in the eastern place of Kuragano-town. Actually, I go there because I want to drive my blue car at least once every three days to keep it in good condition. For that reason, on the way home I drove the Kuragano-Bypass, which has a nice road surface.

My purchase was the healthy carrot juice to drink on my empty stomach early in the morning. When it was time to pay, I decided to go to the self-checkout. I'm used to it now, so it went smoothly. We should learn things by "doing everything ourselves."

Dear my friends abroad
The simultaneous interpretation for your understanding will be done after my radio gymnastics held in the nearby park and breakfast in Japan time.
..............................................
In recent years, some of my poorly written blog have been published in the "Longevity association Notice Edition" of Kuragano-Kami-4th which was announced yesterday, and I would like to express my deep gratitude to Mr. Kumagai, the editor. At the same time, since this notice edition is read by many people in the town, I must work hard to further enrich the content and clarify the sentences.

I will continue to study and thoroughly practice and research. I think it will be meaningful if I can think about the big themes of "What is human's joy?" and "How to maintain health" in the aging society, which is the original purpose of my weblog.

Since I started this blog in 2017 (Heisei 19), the number of articles has reached 4,880, and in recent years, I have been posting on Facebook and the blog almost every day. Blogs, like websites, can be accessed by anyone. Moreover, as you know, the Internet can reach every corner of the earth instantly.

However, 98% of the world's population has difficulty understanding sentence written in Japanese. For this reason, I will also publish my poor English translations and strive to train them from now on as well. When translating into English, I always make sure to fit into the five sentence patterns which I learned in high school.

Dear my Facebook friends abroad
In front of my house is named Furusato that is the community center for Kuragano-town's Kami4th. There is a bulletin board there. This time the Longevity Association's "Announcement Edition" was posted on it. While reading it, my eye fell on "Silver Senryu," that means witty epigrammatic poem containing seventeen syllables. I would like to share it with you all including foreigners.

Although I would never translate senryu so far into English, I would like to convey its meaning to foreigners as well. I wonder if the essence of the humor will be conveyed.

〇 On sale days, items are cheaper, so I rush there with my pushcart.
〇 In the past, what I cared about at work was my personal connections, but now I care about my heartbeat.
〇 In the past, I was proud of my beautiful wife, but now I often have to put up with her.
〇 Self-checkout is difficult for us elderly people, so I can't do it and I don't go near them.

Dear my Facebook friends abroad
There are five plum trees in the garden for the purpose of seeing the flowers. Their flowers are deep pink, light pink weeping, and the variety named "Kagoshima" is bright red. There is also a single plum tree with a variety called "Omoi no mama" that blooms in red and white, and a large white plum, so the garden is rich in color and fragrance from February to March. I recommend you to appreciate these flowers next spring. I secretly think of it as "Kurahano Plum Grove."

As you can see, the large white plum is a good harvest every year beyond imagination. So my eldest daughter makes some of them into plum wine and brings it to me. I still enjoy them at every dinner. However, many of them are wasted, and they often just fall off. Every year, I wondered if there was some way to make effective use of them. Then, someone who needed plums appeared. If humans have strong hopes, and someday their hopes will come true.

Even so, when there are plum trees planted, "white-eyes" always come in pairs from nowhere, as in the photo, and suck the nectar hungrily. After they have sucked a certain amount, they do not act alone, but always fly off somewhere in pairs, therefore I am amazed at their wonderful habit of living by helping each other. At the same time, as a person who lives alone, I feel envious when I see this scene. If I live with strong hopes as a human being, will my hope come true someday?

 Dear my Facebook friends
This afternoon I went to two of my favorite places. The first was the Yoshii Dream Center which is a day spa. While driving I was listening to Radio-Takasaki and was surprised because Ms. Megumi Sakamoto was broadcasting on the show.

I had surprised before. About 10 years ago, I happened to be listening to the Beijing International Radio Station's Japanese broadcast, at that time, she was broadcasting from Beijing for Japanese tourists in China.

She was on Radio Takasaki today, so she must have returned to Takasaki now. I know her well, because she played the trombone in the brass band club activity for three years. After that, she became an announcer.

Today, as soon as I returned from Yoshii Dream Center, I went to the cafe Sampo-michi and relaxed for about an hour, enjoying iced coffee and talking with the owner. Since there were no customers in the early evening, I played "A Love Story" by the piano.

Dear my friends abroad
The simultaneous interpretation for your understanding will be done after my radio gymnastics held in the nearby park and breakfast in Japan time.
...................................................
In the healthy drink section, not in the beverage section of the supermarket, as you know, there are tomato juice, carrot juice, grapefruit juice, etc. lined up. These drinks contain lycopene and beta-carotene, which are important antioxidants. In other words, they are cancer prevention.

For this reason, if I drink these drinks alternately "on my empty stomach every early in the morning", they will flow through the esophagus, stomach, and duodenum all at once, and they will taste good, and they will also leave our stomach feeling very refreshed. They probably flow through the inner walls of these organs. This is a habit I have been continuing for about 10 years, without missing a day. I obtained this idea when I happened to attend the lecture on prostate cancer care by a doctor at Gumma University Hospital.

On the other hand, generally it used to say "disease comes from the mind", but I believe that "disease comes from the mouth", and I believe that if I keep these "digestive organs empty", any food I eat will taste good. However, I limit myself to foods that do not contain much sugar, salt, or fat.

Recently, I often eat boiled soba noodles (Nagano Prefecture's Soba) as shown in the photo for lunch, with seasonings such as green onions, shiitake mushrooms, and ginger, as the result, I feel that I am in good health. Eating soba noodles for lunch probably helps with digestion. In the evening, I became so hungry that I can't wait for dinner, and even though it's a lonely "dinner for one man," it is physically very delicious. Mentally, I have beer, so I somehow feel satisfied. I want to eat less meat and more fish to avoid an unbalanced diet. If possible I'd like to eat with you.

The other day, there was an origami gathering at the Furusato community center in front of my house. At that time, I was practicing the piano. Afterwards, I played a few old songs and movie music that I remember fondly.

Later, someone from the origami group told me that while they were folding origami, they heard the piano sound coming from Kakki's house. It seemed like everyone was listening while folding the paper.

When we think of the piano, it can be used to accompany for vocalist or instruments, or to create full-fledged piano pieces by Chopin, Mozart etc. but it's very nice to play the melody of a song by the piano with our right hand and accompaniment with our left hand at the same time. I would like to enjoy playing the piano in this field in the near future. Please come from NZ and listen if you have time.

Dear my friends abroad
September 9th is the Double Ninth, or emergency day in Japan. Last night in southern Gumma Prefecture, despite it was late at night, there was a continuous series of loud thunder for a long time, and it was a terrible sound that has not been heard in recent years. When I was a child, I often experienced loud thunder, but it occurred in the evening. In recent years, perhaps due to the climate change, I guess, there have been fewer thunders, so I felt the sound even louder, so that I was not able to sleep at all last night, and it was like the "thunderous father".

Because of this natural phenomenon, from last night until the early hours of the morning, it literally felt like my father had returned from the Heaven. There are some strange things, but my father hated the number of 9 when he was alive. However, the first character of my family's surname, "kaki", has nine strokes, and he has nine grandchildren. I think that 9 is the highest number and is very good.

Even so, my father hated the number 9, but he passed away on September 9th, which has multiple 9s, and today is the anniversary of his death. On top of that, the name of the temple where he rests after he passed away is "Kuhonji Temple" that means the temple named 9.

On the other hand, my mother was worried about me going to India for my first job and was against it, but my father was very supportive and thought it would be good for my future, so I was really happy when he said so. I am the youngest of six siblings, but I ended up living with my parents, who loved flowers. Because of this, I still live on the 660 square meter plot of land that my father bought 60years ago, and I currently spend my days taking care of the flowers, such as bougainvillea and large crape myrtles. Today I am going to Kuhonji Temple to visit my ancestors' grave.

Dear my friends abroad
The simultaneous interpretation for your understanding will be done after my radio gymnastics held in the nearby park and breakfast in Japan time.
...................................
September 8th, today's sunrise is at 5:21 [Gumma Prefecture], the solar altitude is 58°, and sunset will be at 18:02. Therefore, the length of day is 12 hours and 41 minutes, which means that there is still a long day.

After researching, I found that today's sunrise in Nemuro City, Hokkaido is at 4:49, which means the sun rises more than 30 minutes earlier than in Gumma Prefecture. On the other hand, the sun sets in Okinawa Prefecture at 18:40, so it is light until 38 minutes later than in Gumma Prefecture. I took this photo at around 5:30 this morning when I opened the window and saw a beautiful sunrise and morning glow. Perhaps the weather is starting to be cloudy and rainy.

By the way, there are two main things I aim for every day: how to maintain my health without relying too much on medicines. For example, to strengthen my legs and hips, I go up and down the stairs, and I do radio gymnastics to work my respiratory muscles, and I do calf raising to strengthen my calves and reduce the strain of my heart. I think that we exist inside our muscles.

The other thing is to improve my memory. For example, if I come across a new difficult kanjis or English words, I will eventually forget it, so I think "by actually using it takes root deeply" I think that the "multifaceted method" such as seeing, writing, listening, and pronouncing is more likely to become ingrained in the brain. Studying Tensei Jingo [Japanese-English Comparison] is divided into a morning and an afternoon, and I will tackle new words for two days in a day. If I do that, I plan to finish in mid-October. I wonder if it would finish reading.

Dear my Facebook friends
This photo was taken at 6:15 tonight in Japan, showing the moon floating in the southwestern sky. Today is the 5th day of August in the lunisolar calendar, so the phase of moon is 5 days old. It is still a little bright around the edges so the outline and surface of the moon are not clear, but the right side is glowing.

Currently, if we look at this moon in the southern hemisphere, the left side is glowing. If we look at it directly on the equator, the bottom is glowing, so that it looks like a bowl-shaped boat. In any case, when it sets in the west the string is at the top, so it is a waxing crescent moon.

By the way, will Aquarius be visible high in the due southern sky at midnight? I may not be able to stay awake until then. Still, since today is Hakuro that means White Dew, Aquarius will definitely be due south.

Dear my friends as earthling
Today, September 7th, is "Hakuro" that means White Dew, one of the 24 solar calendars in Japan. "Hakuro" is when the sun's longitude reaches 165 degrees [right ascension 11 hours] measured from the vernal equinox [just below Pisces]. Normally, around this time, the atmosphere cools and dewdrop begins to form, but due to recent global climate change, there was still no dew to be found by me on the leaves of plants this morning.

The above refers to the position of the sun as seen from our earth, but on the other hand, when today's Hakuro, "where is the earth in its orbit?"

As you know, there are no landmarks in outer space. However, the only landmarks are the twelve zodiacal constellations [often used in fortune telling], which exist incredibly far away and are arranged at almost equal intervals, and by these, we can know the current position of our earth on its orbit. That constellation is directly opposite the sun. In other words, they are the twelve zodiacal constellations that are due south at midnight. Today, on the day of White Dew, the Earth is located towards the left edge of Aquarius in the photo.

In about two weeks, the Sun will reach Virgo as seen from the Earth, where the autumnal equinox is. At this time, our Earth will reach the direction of the vernal equinox point, just below Pisces. The image shows Aquarius, which can be seen due south at midnight tonight. It is larger than we might imagine, and its mouth appears to be upside down, with facing south.

Dear my friends abroad
It was so hot beyond expectation in the afternoon that I went to my favorite cafe, "Sampo-michi." You might say, "Kakky, you went again," but for a man living alone, "I have to make some changes to my lifestyle."

This is not only me, but for anyone who is healthy and gets older, "living alone will come in the future." But, if you have a hobby that you can get passionate about, you'll be fine. Don't worry. When I was young, I never thought I would be living alone for a long time in the future.

Today, I had the opportunity to play the piano at "Sampo-michi" again. As autumn is finally here, I remembered "Autumnal Moon," written and composed by famous Rentaro Taki, and played it slowly with deep emotion. It is perfect for the sadness of an autumnal night.

Lyrics: "The light is always the same, but the shadow of the autumnal moon, especially, makes people think of things. Why does it make people think of things? Oh, do the insects who sing have the same feelings? Oh, do the insects who sing have the same feelings? Their voices are sad."

Dear my friends abroad
The simultaneous interpretation for your understanding will be done after my radio gymnastics held in the nearby park and breakfast in Japan time.
......................................
I left home at about 4:30 yesterday evening and drove to my favorite day-trip spa named Yoshii-Ushibuse-Dream-Center, to wash away the sweat of the day. The 30-minute drive one way passed over the recently constructed Shin-Kaburagawa-Bridge, which has a spectacular view, and the roads along the way were wide and very comfortable.

I relaxed in the large bathtub, gazing at Mt. Ushibuse through the window, and reflected on the day and soothed my fatigue. When I got out of the bath, there was a large hall, so it has become my habit to read the Jomo Shimbun newspaper there. Sometimes I look over at the reader's column "Hiroba" and notice that the "watch shop neighbor" has posted sentences before he knew, and when I get home, I post it on my weblog right away.

However, this time, when I saw yesterday's Jomo Shimbun, I couldn't believe my eyes with sadness. A long time ago, when I became a high school teacher, the name of TG, the student council president at the time, who was in his third year, was listed in the "Obituaries" column. He was unique and an energetic student, and was still young and expected to do great things in the future. In fact, he was a member of the Takasaki City Council for many years since a young age, and in recent years he served the city of Takasaki in the important position of city council chairman. I was shocked and deeply saddened to hear of his passing.

Meanwhile, he and I were also connected through our hobby of racing pigeons. As a result, we met at the general meeting of the district federation, and the three of us, including another pigeon friend, Arcadia, held pleasant meeting party in Shibukawa-City, bringing back fond memories. Half a century ago, it seems like just the other day that after the graduation ceremony, he came to the staff room to politely say "Thank you for all your help." [Tears]

Dear my Facebook friends abroad
The glasses part that touched my nose I had been using to look at my computer broke about 6 months ago. Therefore it was painful to wear them. For this reason, recently I had been using other glasses instead.

However, it was difficult for me to see, so yesterday I brought the glasses to an optician in Apita. The staff told me to come back in about an hour. When I went back, he had put on a new part and were done. Of course, my nose didn't hurt when I wore the glasses and I could see well.

When I asked how much they cost, the staff said "No charge". So I wondered if there were stores like this in the world today. The staff was very kind and I was very happy. Therefore, I have decided that the next time I buy glasses, I will buy here.

Dear my friends who seek anti-senile dementia
The season is moving from summer to autumn in Japan. Plants that bloom for such a long period include the Crape Myrtle and the Silk Tree. On the other hand, as shown in the photo, the Hibiscus (left) and the Confederate rose which look similar at first glance, are still blooming with their buds swelling one after another. I am raising both in flowerpots, so I make sure not to neglect watering them.

Taking care not to let plants wither and trying to make them bloom for a long period like this may be important as a "daily dementia countermeasure". In my case, I think that "connecting with joy" in several situations, rather than just one area, is an effective way to counter senile dementia, which everyone will face in the near future. I was important to improve one area while working, but, I think it would be good to challenge myself in other areas after retirement.

For instance, playing a familiar and favorite melody by the piano with our right hand while instantly playing the appropriate accompaniment by our left hand requires consideration of harmony. It will also lead to creativity in sound alone, away from musical scores. In any field, this "creativity and eccentric ideas" seems to be effective in preventing senile dementia. It is a severe problem that everyone faces as they get older. We'd like to live a life full of expression, like these flowers, by finding joy in many areas.

Dear my Facebook friends abroad who like "Bottoms Up" with beer
There is nothing more pitiful in the world than a man with eating dinner alone. [Tears] I wonder how long this life will continue. So, tonight I will dine out to the central city of Takasaki after a long interval. So please forgive me. This will be able to enjoy a little bit of "Rakuda" time mentally.

Although he is not my former colleague, I met him named "next door to the watchmaker", who has the same occupation. After I retired, we are drinking buddies. He is with me tonight as well. His writings are often published in the reader's column of Jomo Shimbun newspaper in Gumma Prefecture.

The photo shows a camel riding on the vast grasslands of Inner Mongolia. By the way, when getting on and off, the camel sways back and forth terribly. Even if you make a grab at the "hump" as you are about to fall, it is too soft to grab.

P.S. I didn't go to after-party and just got home safely. I'm sorry for your worrying me. I'll work hard again from tomorrow. Good Night.

Dear my friends abroad
The simultaneous interpretation for your understanding will be done after my radio gymnastics held in the nearby park and breakfast in Japan time.
............................
Today, September 4th, sunrise is at 5:17 (Gumma Prefecture), the solar altitude at noon is 60° (77° at the summer solstice), and sunset is scheduled for 18:07, so the length of today is 12 hours and 50 minutes. Incidentally, the position of the Earth on its orbit, which is about 940 million km length, has reached the eastern end of Aquarius, which is one of the twelve zodiacal constellations. When viewed from Japan, Aquarius looks upside down because its mouth faces south. The famous Pisces is to the east of Aquarius. The Sun was in Pisces on the vernal equinox day.

Therefore, the Earth is already approaching the direction of Pisces. At midnight on the autumn equinox day, Pisces can be seen due south on Earth. Check it out on a night when the stars are clearly visible. Pisces is already overhead by seeing from the east in Japan, and as you know, it looks just like the shape of India, so check it out. The vernal equinox point is just below Pisces. The vernal equinox is the datum point that indicates the positions of celestial bodies such as fixed stars, and here it is at declination 0 degrees and right ascension 0 degrees.

Not change the sublect, but the indoor temperature early this morning was cool 26° in Celsius . This morning I will take part in radio gymnastics at Kami-4th Park, and then I will patrol the school children of the local Kuragano Elementary School. This will mean I will be moving my body quite a bit in the morning, which will make me hungrier so that my breakfast will taste better. The photo shows Kakki's persimmons, which are gradually growing bigger. They are still green and will be harvested in November. Please come and taste some.

Dear my friends
Just before 4pm today, I stopped off at my favorite cafe, "Sampo-michi," while tasting an iced coffee and, unusually, spent a little time reading.

The book is "The Wisdom of Aging" by Sono Ayako. It describes the state of mind of elderly people in Japan from now on, and it perfectly describes the current way of my mind.

The line that caught my eye today was, "No matter how old you are, it's important to not only look good, but also to have a smart mind, and men in particular to have a brave spirit and behave courteously towards ladies."

Dear my Facebook friends abroad
The "sleep tree" in my garden, which began blooming in July, is still in bloom today, not to be outdone by the flowering period of about 100 days of Crape Myrtle. The flower's meaning is "joy". It is said to be native to tropical countries such as southern China, so it must be easy for her to grow in Japan, where the climate has been excessively hot in recent years.

For me, who prefers flowering trees rather than grass flowers, this is the ideal plant. The seeds were spilled, so that now I have three "sleep trees" in the garden. Even so, the shape of the flower is unique like needles.

But speaking of uniqueness, as its name suggests, it closes its leaves by "sleep exercise" from dusk until next morning, which is extremely mysterious. It is healthy because it doesn't play around at night or get up in the middle of the night like me. However, as it tends to sleep in the morning, it resembles a human. So she makes it easy to get along with me.

Dear my Facebook friends abroad
Yesterday evening, I drove my blue coupe for the first time in a while to the day spa at my favorite "Yoshii Dream Center" to freshen up. However, while driving there was pleasant, on the way back, I encountered a heavy rain shower beyond description, so it was difficult to see ahead. It was the first time I had driven this car in this weather.

After arriving home safely, I couldn't leave the car as it was to protect the paintwork, even though it was coated. So I wiped off the wet body with some towels in the garage, as you can see in the photo, I was relieved that the soaked car was completely dry in about 15 minutes. Even so, cleaning every corner of the car is surprisingly good exercise.

Not change the subject, but this morning I must go to my second daughter's residence in Maebashi-City early in the morning, since the parents [daughter and her husband] had to leave early for work, I have to look after my granddaughters until they went to school. I do everything I can for my two daughters, no matter what. Then, I will leave my home after 6 o'clock.

 Dear my Facebook friends

My house is unusual for a Japanese wooden house that has three floors and, as you can see, it is a spacious mountain hut-style room [In short, remodeling the attic]. The view is wonderful, with a good view of the eastern part of Kuragano and the Gumma's mountain ranges, including the three well-known mountains in Gumma Prefecture and active volcano Mt. Asama. You can also see the first sunrise of the year.

I often use this place as a relaxing after-party when I have guests. Because it is located at a high place, you can see not only Kuragano Elementary School, but also Sakuragi-town, which makes the guests cheer with delight.

Dear my friends abroad
The simultaneous interpretation for your understanding will be done after my radio gymnastics held in the nearby park and breakfast in Japan time.
..................................
I scheduled to be on the first school-going for traffic patrol of the second term at Kuragano Elementary School at 7:30 this morning, but I was surprised to hear that the school was closed to avoid the approach of Typhoon No. 10 (now a tropical depression). Meanwhile, the elementary school in Maebashi that my granddaughters attend is not closed, and the second term will start today as usual. Why do municipalities respond differently, even though they are all in same Gumma Prefecture? There is no difference in the weather in Gumma Prefecture, so there is no uniformity within the prefecture.

By the way, when I went to the radio gymnastics this morning, I observed at the plants in the garden. They are already steadily preparing for winter. The plant in the top photo is a "Mayumi" and the plant in the bottom is a "Kuroganemochi". which is very similar pronunciation to my Kuragano-machi. These produce bright red berries in winter. They have already grown large and are waiting for the arrival of winter. We can see that the plants are ahead of the season.

For us humans, today is said to be "the first day of the rest of our life," but I am asking myself if I am preparing for the rest of my life. However, my day is spent tending to the plants in my garden, and working amongst greenery allows me to breathe in fresh oxygen and soothes my mind. On the other hand, listening to music and occasionally playing the piano are also very good for my mental balance, and I would like to continue doing these works in the future.

On the other hand, I also enjoy translating things in front of me into English using a Japanese-English dictionary, and when I hear something unusual on TV, I immediately look it up in the Japanese-English dictionary and learn new words. Some English expressions I have learned recently are "caterpillars crawling," "great edifice," "scars of a disaster," "remove poison or detox," "gibberish or it's all Greek to me," "collarbone," "rosary," "psychiatrist or shrink," and "dermatologist."

Typhoon No. 10 is moving slowly and its course is undecided, heading out to sea once, then wandering as if it might make landfall again. It's just like my adolescence. That's why it has left its scars in far places.

Today is September 1st, which is Disaster Prevention Day in Japan. 101 years ago today, at 11:58 on September 1st, 1923, the Great Kanto Earthquake occurred including mainly Tokyo, estimated to have a magnitude of 7.9, with its epicenter in the northwestern part of Sagami Bay. My late parents told me about the fear, saying, "Even in Kuragano-Town, the shaking was so strong that they couldn't stand up." At night, they said, "The sky over Tokyo was bright red."

"Disasters strike when we forget about them." It is said that the probability of a large-scale earthquake along the Nankai Trough (estimated to be a magnitude 8-9 class), which is being called out recently, occurring ratio within the next 30 years is 70-80%.

In this world, unexpected and dangerous occurrence can happen. When driving, we need to be careful and keep a spacious distance from the car in front of us. In the past, the things I was scared of were "earthquakes, thunder, fires, and dad" in olden days. I certainly felt my father scary, and he would often get angry at me. Looking back now, I don't remember ever having a proper conversation with him. He ran a store, so I guess he was busy working to raise his 6 children. I also never had the experience of him taking me anywhere. However, at my university entrance ceremony, I looked back and saw my father in the parents' seats. He was watching over me. Also, the large area which I currently live was purchased by my father about 60 years ago.
