地球の公転上の位置を知るため、深夜、真南を見る。

　
　今日９月７日は二十四節気の一つ「白露」です。「白露」とは太陽黄経が春分点【魚座のすぐ下】から測って１６５度【赤経１１h】に達したときで、暦では今日がその日です。通常、この頃になると大気が冷えてきて、露ができ始めるころですが、近年の気候変動で、今朝の段階では、未だ植物の葉に露は見当たりませんでした。

　前述は、地球から見た太陽の位置をいいますが、一方、今日の白露で、私たちが住む「地球は一体、公転軌道上の何処に達しているでしょうか。」

　と言っても、宇宙空間には目印があません。しかし、唯一ある目印は考えられないほど遠方に存在し、ほぼ等間隔に並んでいる黄道十二星座【占いに使われる星座】によって、公転軌道上の地球の現在位置を知ることができます。それは太陽と正反対の方向にある星座です。つまり、深夜０時に真南にある黄道十二星座です。白露の今日、地球は「水瓶座」の左端の方向に来ています。

　約２週間後の太陽は、地球から見て「乙女座」達し、ここには「秋分点」があります。この時、私たちの地球は「魚座」のすぐ下の「春分点」の方角に到達します。画像は今宵深夜０時に真南に見える【水瓶座】です。想像以上に大きく、口が下【南】で逆さまに見えます。

　Today, September 7th, is "Hakuro" that means White Dew, one of the 24 solar calendars in Japan. "Hakuro" is when the sun's longitude reaches 165 degrees [right ascension 11 hours] measured from the vernal equinox [just below Pisces]. Normally, around this time, the atmosphere cools and dewdrop begins to form, but due to recent global climate change, there was still no dew to be found by me on the leaves of plants this morning.

　The above refers to the position of the sun as seen from our earth, but on the other hand, when today's Hakuro, "where is the earth in its orbit?"

　As you know, there are no landmarks in outer space. However, the only landmarks are the twelve zodiacal constellations [often used in fortune telling], which exist incredibly far away and are arranged at almost equal intervals, and by these, we can know the current position of our earth on its orbit. That constellation is directly opposite the sun. In other words, they are the twelve zodiacal constellations that are due south at midnight. Today, on the day of White Dew, the Earth is located towards the left edge of Aquarius in the photo.

　In about two weeks, the Sun will reach Virgo as seen from the Earth, where the autumnal equinox is. At this time, our Earth will reach the direction of the vernal equinox point, just below Pisces. The image shows Aquarius, which can be seen due south at midnight tonight. It is larger than we might imagine, and its mouth appears to be upside down, with facing south.
