新紙幣を使うチャンスが少ない現代社会

　７月に、新しいデザインの１万円札、５千円札、千円札が２０年振りに発行され、私はこれら新紙幣を使うのがもったいない程きれいに出来ているとその感想を昨日書きました。しかし、現代ではスーパーやコンビニ、ガソリンスタンドでの支払いに私はクレジットカードを使うので、最近は財布を持たなくなりました。ですから、実際に新紙幣を使う機会は意外と少ないです。

　一方、新紙幣の発行について、その識別に困るのは目の不自由な人たちです。お金ですから間違ったら大変と心配されることでしょう。紙幣には指で触れることによって、盛り上がりの形で識別する印があります。このため、新紙幣のそれぞれの違いを判別するのに最初は悩まれる想われます。識別マークは旧紙幣より分かりやすく改良されてるとのことですが、年数が経過すれば摩耗することもあり得るでしょう。今日から障害者週間です。

　先日、数枚の旧千円札の中に１枚だけ新千円札が入っていたとき、瞬間的に旧の五千円札が入ってるのかと戸惑いました。新紙幣は色彩的には良く出来ているので早く慣れたいです。年末になり、私には２～３回忘年会が控えているので、そこで使うことになります。新紙幣を間違ったら酔いが覚めてしまうので、飲み過ぎないようにします。

　The other day, when I found a new 1,000 yen bill among several old 1,000 yen bills, I was confused for a moment, wondering if it was an old 5,000 yen bill. The new bills are well made in terms of color, so I hope to get used to them quickly. It's the end of the year, and I have two or three end-of-year parties coming up, so I'll use new bills there. If I drink wrong and mistake to pay, I'll end up sobering up, so I'll try not to drink too much.
