雨が降らず、ついに井戸水が涸れ、植物に水道水を与える

 

　上の写真の大きな「枝垂れ梅」も、ちらほら咲き始めています。画像をクリックするとピンクの数輪が見えるでしょう。こんな大きくなるとは思いませんでしたが、８年ほど前、高崎市に降った大雪で傾いてしまいました。しかし、自然は良く出来たもので、反対方向の枝が成長し、今では却ってバランスの取れた樹形となり、自然に治癒したのです。満開は３月上旬ですから見にいらして下さい。庭にはお茶が飲めるところが用意してあります。

　この枝垂れ梅も細い幼木のとき、埼玉県花園町から当時の愛車「いすゞ１１７クーペ」で、トランクに根を入れ、幹と枝を外に出し倉賀野まで４０ｋｍほどを目立たない道路経由で運んで来たのですから、平成当初、若かった私も植木への情熱は燃えていたのでしょう。この情熱を他の分野にも生かしたいものです。

　ところで、群馬県南部は長いこと雨が降らず、井戸が涸れ、植木に必要な水が不足し、ついに昨日、私は市の水道にホースをつなげ、すべての植物に思い切り水を提供しました。口のきけない植物たちも、やっと喉を潤した感じで、すでに開花してる梅や、馬酔木、そしてご覧の君子蘭は急に生き生きした表情になりました。

　やはり、人間には愛が必要なように、植物には充分な水がなくてはなりません。今日から本格的な春になると予報されてます。私は屋外でも室内でも忙しくなり、嬉しい活動期に入ります。

　The large weeping plum tree in the photo above is starting to bloom. If you click on the image, you can see a few pink flowers. I never thought it would grow like this big, but about eight years ago, it tilted due to heavy snowfall in Takasaki City. However, the nature is wonderful, and the branches grew in the opposite side, and became a well-balanced shape now and has naturally healed. It will be in full bloom in early March, so I recommend you to the core to come and see it. There is a place in the garden where you and me can have tea.

　This weeping plum tree was a thin young tree when I transported it from Hanazono-town, Saitama Prefecture, to my Kuragano-

town with the roots in the trunk of my beloved car named "Isuzu 117 Coupe", via the inconspicuous road for about 40 km. So I must have been a young person at the beginning of the Heisei era and had a burning passion for gardening. I would like to use this passion in other areas as well.

　Incidentally, it hasn't rained in southern Gumma Prefecture for a long time, the well in the garden has dried up, and there is a shortage of water for the plants, so finally yesterday I connected a hose to the city water supply and gave all the plants a lot of water. It seemed that the mute plants had finally hydrated their thirst, and the plum trees which have already bloomed, the Japanese andromeda tree, and the kaffir lily you see in the photo suddenly looked lively.

　After all, just as love needs indispensability for humans, plants need plenty of water. It is forecast that full spring will begin in earnest from today. I will be busy both indoors and outdoors, so I will enter a happy period of activity.
