早春賦の通り・・・今日も昨日も雪の空

　皆さんも今朝、窓を開けてびっくりでしょう。明日は「春分の日」というのに一面の銀世界です。私は咄嗟に庭に出て作業開始です。南国生まれで雪が大の苦手のサルスベリにとって、横に張り出してるたくさんの枝は雪の重みでかなり垂れ下がり、今にも折れそうで痛々しかったからです。

　落ちてくる雪から頭を防ぐため私は麦わら帽子を被り、下から長い棒で枝を叩いたら雪がどっさり落下します。その反動で枝がふんわりと元に戻り、如何にも「ああ、楽になった」という感じを見せてます。雪は降り続いてるので、朝食後に再度、この作業をやらなくてはなりません。今度はサルスベリの他に、やはり雪に弱い西洋シャクナゲたちです。日本シャクナゲは雪に強いです。

　写真は今が盛りの紅白二色咲きの梅で品種名「思いのまま」です。紅い花は白に負けまいと、雪が降る中で頑張って咲いてます。こちらは枝垂れでなく、枝が上に向いてるので雪に対し力強いです。自然は素晴らしく雪のお陰で一味違った美しさになってます。

　雪のお陰で空気がきれいになり、花粉症の方は楽になるでしょう。花粉症でない私も嬉しいことがあります。それは涸れていた井戸水が増えることです。今後はたくさんの植木に勢いよく水を与えられます。車を運転する方はゆっくり走行です。

　The photo shows a red and white bicolor plum tree in full bloom now, her variety name is "Omoi no mama". The red flowers are blooming hard in the falling snow, not wanting to be outdone by the white snow. This tree does not have drooping branches, but rather sees upwards, making it strong against the snow. Nature is amazing, and the snow adds a whole different kind of beauty to it.

　The snow cleans the air, which will provide relief for those who are suffering from hay fever. Even though I don't have hay fever, I'm happy about something.
