今朝、起床したら驚きが二つ

三月下旬となり、白のハクモクレンや雪柳と共に、今度はあちこちで黄色が加わり始め、庭はいよいよ色彩豊かになりつつあります。写真上は枝垂れレンギョウで、枝ぶりに優しさがあります。これも亡父が６０年前に植えたものが命を繋いでおり、有難く感じます。こんな季節に花を見ながらテーブルを囲み、フェイスブック友人とお茶を飲みつつ「人間の楽しみについて、また、音楽談義をしたら、どんなに楽しいことでしょう。

　ところで、今朝、起床して驚いたことが二つあります。朝から空はよく晴れているのに、上毛三山など遠くの山々が全く見えません。これが鼻や目に良くない、延いては肺に良くない「大陸の砂漠から飛来してきてる黄砂」です。昨日私は一日中、咳が出ました。今日、外出するとき珍しくマスクをします。

　今朝、起床して驚いたもう一つの事は、暫く停滞気味だった米国経済ダウとナスダックがかなりの上昇です。何か心身の緊張が解れ、ゆったりして血圧がぐっと下がる感じです。近年、近所の奥さんのお父様が１００才で亡くなられましたが、「長寿の原因は何でしたでしょう」と尋ねたところ、彼女は開口一番「株をしてました。」とのことです。やはり「期待感が心身によい」のかもしれないと感じました。私は株はしてませんが、米国ハイテク企業やIT関連の企業など新興企業が占めるナスダックに高い関心があります。

　今日は近くで大売出しがあります。黄砂に気をつけながら、抗酸化作用の強いトマトなど野菜の買い出しに頑張ります。

　It's late March, and along with the white of the magnolia and snow willow, yellow flowers are now starting to appear here and there, and the garden is becoming more and more colorful. The photo above shows a weeping forsythia with its gentle branches. This was also planted by my late father 60 years ago and is still alive, so I feel grateful. By the way, how fun it would be to sit around the table looking at the flowers in this season, drinking tea with Facebook friends including you and talking about the joys of human beings and music.

　Not change the subject but when I woke up this morning, I was surprised by two things. Although the sky was clear from the morning, I couldn't see the distant mountains, such as the well-known three mountains in Gumma Prefecture. This is the "yellow sand flying in from the desert on the continent," which is not good for our nose or eyes, and even for the lungs. Yesterday, I had a cough all day. Today, when I go out, I will wear a mask which is unusual for me.

　Another thing that surprised me when I woke up this morning was the considerable rise in the US Dow and Nasdaq, which had been stagnant so far. I feel like my body and mind are released, I feel relaxed, and my blood pressure seems to drop. Recently, the father of a woman in my neighborhood passed away at the age of 100. When I asked her what the cause of his longevity was, she said at once was, "He invested in the stock market." I feel that perhaps it's because of the sense of expectation that is good for the body and mind. I don't invest in stocks, but I am very interested in the Nasdaq, which is dominated by emerging companies such as US high-tech and IT-related companies.

　Today there is a big sale nearby. I'll do my best to buy tomatoes and other vegetables which have strong antioxidant properties, while being careful of the yellow sand.
