現代では、「ひな祭り」に桃は咲きません。

　３月３日は「ひな祭り」です。二人の娘の雛人形はガラスケース入りなので、今でも一年中飾ってあります。それでもお嫁に行けました。飾ってあると、生まれた当時の幼き日のことが思い出され、心が若くいられます。

　一方、３月3日は「桃の節句」と言われますが、これは旧暦時代の名残ですから、現代の３月３日では、とても桃の花が咲く時季ではありません。庭には数本の花桃がありますが、蕾は未だとても小さく開花は１か月後の旧暦の３月３日以降になるでしょう。

　現代の３月３日は、ご覧の通り、庭では梅の花が満開になりました。写真は今朝、二階の窓から白梅と紅梅枝垂れを撮りましたら、雨に濡れ、一段と色彩が鮮やかになってます。暫くぶりの雨は植物にとって、正に恵みの雨となりました。写真下は馬酔木(アセビ)で、左は赤で蕾の状態で、右は白い花が咲いてます。こちらも紅白です。

　ところで、久しぶりの雨ですが、私にとっても恵みの雨です。というのは、長い間「涸れてた井戸」に水が溜まるからです。年間を通じて植物への水遣りが私のルーティーンで、今日の雨で、もう梅雨の時季まで心配ないでしょう。今は二十四節気の「雨水」です。その名の通りで自然はよく出来ています。今日、外出が出来なければ、天声人語に集中してみます。
