焦げ茶色に日焼けした私の顔を想像できますか。

　いよいよ4月も中旬となり、群馬県の今日の日の出は５時１１分と早朝になってます。しかも正午の太陽高度は６３°です。因みに冬至の太陽高度は３０°でしたから太陽はすでに2倍以上の高さになってます。

　ご存じの通り、太陽の位置が頭上に近くなればなるほど気温は上昇します。昔住んでたインドのカルカッタ市は北緯２２度ですから北回帰線より南でした。このため、夏至でなくても一年中、太陽は正午にほぼ真上にあり、極めて暑かったです。その代わり、一年中プールで泳げました。焦げ茶色に日焼けした私の顔を想像してみてください。

　ところで、庭では昔からあった枝垂れ花桃の子供【写真上】が満開です。この色彩は春そのものです。平安時代～江戸時代では今頃が桃の節句だったのでしょう。この色を見れば子供は健やかに育つでしょう。ぜひ、拡大してご覧ください。私の庭にいるような臨場感でしょう。

　写真左下は西洋シャクナゲが咲き出したので、前の道からよく見える所に１０mほど運びました。植木鉢ごとの重量は４０Kほどですが、今のところ腰は痛くありません。水仙は殆ど咲き終わりましたが、右下は一輪だけ春を惜しむように咲いているのでアップしました。花をよく観察すると、外側の花弁６枚は白なのに、何故、真ん中は黄色なのでしょう。自然の不思議です。

　ところで、春の全国交通安全運動は今日で終わります。私たちの生命や身体は一年中休みなしですから、運動期間が終わっても安全について徹底して取り組まなければなりません。それにしても男女を問わず、公道上での歩きスマホが目立ちます。特に横断歩道上での歩きスマホには驚きます。命が惜しくないほど楽しいものでしょうか。私もスマホを使いますが、いつまでも目の健康を守りたいので、家で娘たちにラインを送る時くらいにしてます。

　今日は天気が良いので、倉賀野町の自然を観察しにウォーキングを心掛けます。途中で知人に会うときの短い会話も楽しいものです。ストライドは広めに遠方を見て歩きます。

　By the way, the weeping peach tree [above], which has been in the garden is in full bloom. This peach tree is the child of original one. This color is spring itself. In the ancient Heian and Edo periods of Japanese history, It would have been around this time for the Girls' Festival which we say Momo-no-Sekku. 　The western rhododendron in the bottom left of the photo has started to bloom, so I carried it about 10m to the place where it can be seen well from the path in front. The flowerpot weighs about 40kg, but so far my back is not hurting. The daffodils have almost finished blooming, but there is one flower blooming at the artificial hill, as if to regret the end of spring, so I uploaded it. If you look closely at the flower, you will see that the six outer petals are white, but why is the center yellow? It is a wonder of nature.

　Not change the subject but the spring nationwide traffic safety campaign ends today in Japan. Our lives and bodies do not rest all year round, so even after the campaign period ends, we must be thorough about safety both as a pedestrian and driver. Even so, it is noticeable to see people, both men and women, walking while using their smartphones on public road. I am particularly surprised by people who were walking while using their smartphones on crosswalk. Is it really so much fun that they don't want to risk the life? I also use smartphone, but I protect my eye health, so I only use it when I'm at home sending my daughters LINE messages.

　The weather is nice today, so I'm going to go walking to observe the nature of Kuragano-Town of this season. I also enjoy the short conversations when I meet acquaintances along the way. I walk with a wide stride, looking into the distance, if possible, with thinking of you.
