秋には歩きたい旧碓氷峠のトンネル

　群馬県～長野 県間の碓氷峠のウォーキング用トンネルは、二通りあります。一つは、横川の峠の湯～めがね橋、及び、めがね橋～熊ノ平があります。トンネル内の気温は一定なので、いつ歩いても快適です。

　時折、トンネルから脱出すると秋は紅葉に癒されます。唱歌「もみじ」はここがモデルになってます。このトンネル内の特徴は以前に電車が通過してたので一貫してゆるい傾斜です。駐車場は上記の三か所にあります。涼しくなったら私は歩いてみます。帰路には峠の湯がお薦めです。

  There are two walking tunnels in Usui Pass between Gumma and Nagano prefectures. One is from Spar of Pass in Yokokawa to Glasses Bridge, and the other is from Glasses Bridge to Kumanodaira. The temperature inside the tunnel remains constant. It is comfortable to walk through four seasons.

  Occasionally, when we emerge from the tunnel, you'll be soothed by the autumnal tint. The song "Momiji" was inspired by this place. A distinctive feature of this tunnel is that it has a consistent gentle slope, as trains previously passed through it. Parking is available at the three locations mentioned above. I'll walk with you in heart when the weather cools down. I recommend stopping by Toge no Yu that means Spar of Pass on the way back.
