今日の地球の位置を知る

　１０月２３日、二十四節気の「霜降」となりました。文字通り、日に日に寒さが増し、朝５時台にガスストーブで部屋を暖め、フェイスブックに挑戦してます。その後、今朝もスムースな血流をめざし、ラジオ体操会場までウォーキング、ラジオ体操、帰路のウォーキングと朝食前の３０分間は胸の中の空気をすっかり入れ替え、身体の隅々の筋肉と関節を動かし、二度とない今日という日を始めてます。

　ところで、今日の「霜降」とは何でしょう。霜が降り始める頃というのではなく、私たちを載せた地球が今日「公転軌道上の一体どこに到達しているか」を地球人であれば認識したいものです。紀元前より、人類の先達は「太陽系の周囲に１２の星座がほぼ等間隔に並んでる」ことを確認し、反時計回りに公転してる地球はその星座たちの方向にほぼひと月ごとに進んでいることに気づき、この黄道十二星座と共に、季節の移り変わりが起こることを突き止めました。

　このため、二十四節気は１２ある星座にぴったり合ったり、星座と星座の間の方向に位置したりします。今回、地球は前回の「寒露」の時と同じ「魚座」でも、先の方向に到達してます。ご存じの通り「魚座」はインドの形にそっくりです。今日の地球はインドで言えば、最南端「コモリン岬」に相当するところに来ています。この事実は深夜０時の真南に天の赤道付近に確認できます。今後とも、二十四節気と黄道十二星座を結び付け、季節の推移を味わいましょう。

　ところで、今日は私の家の前の倉賀野町上四集会所「ふるさと」で「生き生き健幸クラブ」が開かれ、指導者の下、全員で各関節の動きをスムースにする体操をします。そして、後半は楽しい「歌の時間」です。平素みんなで一緒に歌う機会もないことから、とても充実します。私は歌のピアノ伴奏を依頼されてるので、昔取った杵柄で頑張ります。最初に前奏の一部を聴いて「曲名当てクイズ」を行い、その後、５曲ほど歌います。

　What is today's "Sohkoh" that means frost ? Rather than referring to the time when frost begins to fall, as Earthlings, we want to be aware of where on Earth's orbit we are today. Since prehistoric times, humankind has recognized that 12 zodiac constellations are spaced approximately evenly around the solar system. We noticed that the Earth which is revolving counterclockwise, moves in the direction of these constellations approximately once a month. This led us to understand that the seasons change along with the 12 zodiac constellations.

　For this reason, the 24 solar terms align perfectly with the 12 constellations, or lie between them. This time, Earth is in the same constellation "Pisces" as it was during the previous "Kanro Cold Dew," but it has arrived in a different eastern direction. As you know, "Pisces" is very similar in shape to India. Today, Earth is located in a place that corresponds to the southernmost point of India, "Cape Comorin." This fact can be confirmed tonight due south at midnight, near the celestial equator. Let's continue to connect the 24 solar terms with the 12 zodiac signs and enjoy the passage of the seasons.

　Not change the subject, but today the "Ikiki Kenko Club" that means a vivid healthy Club is being held at the "Furusato" Community Center in Kurahano-town, which is in front of my house. Under the guidance of a lady instructor, everyone is doing exercises to smooth the movement of their joints. Then, in the second half, we have a fun "singing time." This is a very fulfilling time, as we don't usually have a chance to sing together. I've been asked to play piano accompaniment for the songs, so I'll do my best, using my old skills. First, members will listen to part of the introduction of the music and have a "guess the song name quiz," then, we'll sing about five songs.
