野鳥に国境はない

　昨年１２月に、ロシアから飛来したと想われるコハクチョウや鴨たちの鏑川に滞在しする日数が次第に残り少なくなってきてます。反対に、今度は燕など南国からやって来る渡り鳥たちが日本に来る日のはあと1ヶ月余りでしょう。同時に、色彩豊かな植物たちの開花もこれからです。今日の群馬県の太陽高度は４２°で、自然はいよいよ生き生きし、色彩的に華やかになり、野鳥の声も変化してくるでしょう。

　庭に比較的大きな樹木をいろいろ植え、また、私は野鳥用の水飲み場を設置してることから、ピーチクパーチク賑やかです。降水量が少なく、水不足である現在は、野鳥にとっても深刻です。朝、飲み水を一杯にしておいてもお昼頃には半分に減ってるので、多くの野鳥が飲みに来ます。水に有り付くと、その表情は美味しかった安心に満ちてます。野鳥の体温は４０度前後と考えられ、水が本当に大切なのでしょう。

　ところで、心配をお掛けしてます私の体調は、身体が未だ怠く、生活は下降気味です。医師の指導に従い、解熱剤と咳止めを服用してます。体調とは忘れた頃に崩すので、健康対策は常に手を抜くことができません。今後、一層気をつけます。季節の変わりめにつき、皆さまも、体調管理を充分になさってください。

　晩秋になると、餌の少なくなる冬の前に腹ごしらえをしておくのでしょう。野鳥の気持ちが分かるのは、半世紀以上に亘りレース鳩を飼育した経験が今になって役立ってます。

　植物と野鳥への水遣りは私の毎朝の日課です。原則的に餌は撒きません。何でも人間に頼ると、彼らが自然界で生きていけなくなるでしょう。

卵を抱いてる七面鳥・・・もうすぐ雛が孵る

　最近、週に１～２度行くようになった喫茶「さんぽ道」では、すぐ前に鳥小屋があるので「何が居るのかな」と覗いたところ、驚いたことに、七面鳥の番が飼われています。そして、時々、声高らかに鳴きます。

　おそらく、すぐ前の畑に小屋があるので、ママのお父様が飼育されてるのでしょう。

　しかも、現在、メスが卵を抱いています。と言うことは、数日後には雛が孵るようです。七面鳥の雛が孵れば、いっそう賑やかになり、私もまた「さんぽ道」へ行く楽しみが一つできました。

娘も飼育してる秋田犬

　今年が忠犬ハチ公生誕１００年の節目であることから、ハチ公とゆかりが深い東京都渋谷で１２月３日に秋田犬保存会の秋季本部展が開催され、「秋田犬の良さを一層ＰＲ」すると伝えられます。

　この秋田犬は娘が飼っているもので、先日、私の家に宿泊を兼ねてやって来ました。

　また、昨今では、飼い主が日中働きに出るとその間、夕刻まで家の中で待っている犬も多く、有名な「愛犬ハチ公」同様に主人の帰りを待ち続けます。犬には「主人が来るまで必ず待ち続ける習性」があるのでしょう。

ゴールデンウィーク初日は 秋田犬と過ごす

　早くも今日で４月が終わります。群馬県の今日の日の出は４時５２分、日の入りは１８時３０分です。また、太陽高度は６８°です。因みに冬至の太陽高度は３０°で、夏至では７７°です。

　このため昼の長さは１３時間３８分となり、私としては健康維持のため朝食前に適度な運動【ウォーキング１K、心臓強化のためにキャフレイズ、ラジオ体操】をしました。

　あいにく今日は晴れてませんが、夜明けは早く、昨夜、我が家に宿泊した２頭の秋田犬は今朝５時頃には、娘夫婦と好例の周遊運動を終え、体調は良いようです。不思議なことに、秋田犬は大人に対して警戒心があるようでも、二人の子供たちにはすっかり馴れ、まるで家族のように楽しく遊んでいました。

牛伏山 眺めながら リラックス

　暫くアウディーTTに乗ってなかったので、エンジンの調子を維持するために、吉井ドリームセンターまで片道３０分ほど走らせました。

　広い浴場に客は殆どいなく、牛伏山を眺めながらリラックスできました。ここは高崎市営なので入浴料２００円は安いです。

　私自身の食事の準備が大変なのに、犬の食事まで手が回るでしょうか。それにしても、つい近年まで５０年間以上、レース鳩を常時１００羽以上飼ってたのですから、犬の１頭くらい飼えるでしょうが、本心は、他の生き物がよいです。

緑豊かにし、野鳥が飛来する庭を目指す

　花桃の木に止まってるヒヨドリです。野鳥を撮影するのは難しいですが、今回は比較的よく撮れました。画像をアップしてみてください。野鳥にとって自然界では水飲み場がなくなってるため、最近、私は水飲み場を作りました。このため一日中いろんな鳥が庭に来て賑やかです。

　半世紀以上に亘り、レース鳩を飼育してた私にとって鳥がいないと寂しいのでしょう。このため近未来は、樹木をより多くし、野鳥のために本格的な水飲み場を作る予定です。果たして、四季折々いろんな野鳥が来るでしょうか。最近は私が庭に行っても野鳥はあまり逃げません。餌や水をくれる私を知ってるのでしょうか。

　今の季節は多くの樹木が落葉してるので、自然界にとって困ることがあります。それは野鳥たちの「ねぐら」です。ご覧の樹木は常緑樹の金木犀で、葉がかなり密生してるので周囲から発見され難くいです。野鳥たちは夕方になると、どこからともなくやって来て、朝までこの中で安心して寝てます。毎晩この葉の中に１０羽くらいいます。このため常緑樹を増やしたいところですが、常緑樹は概して大きい花が咲きません。野鳥のため、せめてこの金木犀を今後あまり剪定しないように心掛けます。
