「小寒」が寒冷な理由

　二十四節気では１月５日～１９日までの期間が「小寒」です。私たちを載せた地球は一周約９億４０００万kmのやや楕円の公転軌道上を、北極星側から見て反時計回りに毎秒約２９kmのスピードで１年間かけて公転してます。同時に、北極星側から見て反時計回りに２４時間かけて自転してます。

　一方、地球の自転軸は公転面に対し２３．５°ほど傾いたままで公転してます。このため、地上で見ると公転位置によって太陽高度が変化し、結果的に寒暖の差が生じ、現在、北極点が太陽から離れているので「北半球では太陽高度が低くなり」寒冷になります。

　大分、色づいて食べ頃になった金柑です。金柑は風邪に効くといわれており、今日、初めて捥いで食べてみます。実は、私は３日間ほど風邪の症状で苦しみましたが、今日はかなり回復してます。このため、金柑の力で風邪を吹き飛ばしたいです。そして、これからの冬本番を乗り切るつもりです。

　今回の風邪の原因は寒い中で長時間、直径１０cmもあるハクモクレンの大きな葉１０００枚ほどを搔き集め、一気に築山に載せた作業によるものです。もちろんすべて一人で行いました。気持ちは青年でも、今までより体力が低下しているのでしょう。作業そのものは築山が良くなるので楽しかったです。

　ところで、今日は昼の長さが一年で最も短いとされる「冬至」です。今日の地球は「冬のダイアモンド」の方角に来ています。具体的には「アルデバラン」と「ポルックス」の間の方角に来ています。私の住む群馬県では、日の出は６時５１分、日の入りは１６時３２分で、昼の長さは９時間４１分です。調べてみると、根室市では日の出６時４７分、日の入りは１５時４５分で、昼の長さは８時間５６分です。一方、宮古島市では日の出７時１９分、日の入りは１７時５４分で、昼の長さは１０時間３５分と、日本でもかなりの違いがあることが分かります。

　ところで、今日が「芒種」とは太陽黄経が春分の日から７５°(h５)移動した日です。もちろん、実際には、太陽は動かず、私たちを載せた地球が公転軌道上を反時計回りに公転しています。

「清明」になり、野鳥も楽しそうに飛来してきます。

今日の太陽は春分点にあります。

　今日３月２０日は北半球では春分の日です。天文的に「今日はどういう日か」と言えば、公転してる地球から見る太陽の位置が「赤経０°、赤緯０°」の「春分点」に達する日です。今日の太陽の位置が全天の恒星の位置を示す基準点です。

　「春分点」は黄道十二星座の一つ「魚座」のすぐ下にあり、赤道上空です。日本で「魚座」を確認するには概して夏から秋にかけ、頭上より少々南に大きく見えます。「魚座」はインドの形にそっくりですから、すぐ分かります。「春分点」とは人間が決めたものなので、見えるものではありませんが、その位置を確認することはできます。

　「春分点」の反対の位置には「秋分点」があります。そこは黄道十二星座の一つ「乙女座」があります。今の時季、午前０時に真南に見えます。同様に、天には夏至点、冬至点もあり、互いに９０°離れてます。

　群馬県では、今日の日の出は５時４７分、日の入りは１７時５６分で、昼の長さは１２時間０９分です。昼間の時間の方が夜の時間より少し長いです。これは日の出の定義が太陽の中心でなく、太陽の光が出た瞬間であり、日の入りの定義も太陽の中心でなく、光が全く見えなくなる瞬間だからです。昼と夜の長さが同じ日は３月１６日です。

今日は啓蟄・・・地球の公転位置を考える

【黄道十二星座の一つ・・・水瓶座】

　今日３月5日は二十四節気の一つ「啓蟄」です。実際には眩しくて確認できませんが、地球から見る今日の太陽の位置は、春分点の少し西に位置する写真の「水瓶座」にあります。このことは地球から見て、半年前の「白露」の午前０時に「水瓶座」が真南にあったことで分かります。

　私が肉眼で初めて「水瓶座」を捉えたときの感動は今でも忘れません。余りにも大きく、水瓶は逆さまでした。このため、南半球から見れば水瓶の口が上を向いてます。調べてみると、不思議なことに、水瓶の底は丁度、天の赤道に接してます。

　日本で「水瓶座」が見えるのは夏から秋にかけ、頭上より少々南の位置です。このすぐ東にインドの形にそっくりな有名な「魚座」があります。１５日後の春分の日に太陽はこの「魚座」のすぐ下にある「春分点」に到達します。

　この春分点はすべての恒星の位置を示す基準点で、ここは赤経０h、赤緯±0°です。例えば、有名なシリウスの位置は赤経6h45m08s、赤緯 −16° 42′ 58″です。地上の経度に当たるのが赤経であり、緯度に当たるのが赤緯です。赤緯の場合、北半球には＋をつけ、南半球には－をつけて表します。

　ところで、私たちを載せ公転軌道上を周遊してる今日「啓蟄」の地球の位置は、黄道十二星座の「しし座」の少し東の方向に来ています。このことは午前０時に真南を見て確認できます。北半球ではいよいよ春に近づきつつあり、南半球は秋に近づきつつある季節です。

Right ascension corresponds to longitude on the ground, and declination corresponds to latitude. In the case of declination, the Northern Hemisphere adds +, and the southern hemisphere adds -.

　Not change the subject, but the Earth's position which carries us around today, is slightly east of Leo, one of the zodiacal constellations.
