四季を通じて、庭を植物によるキャンパスに

　１１月下旬の今の季節に、これほど目立つ植物も少ないでしょう。しかも、植物名は、私の住んでる町名に発音が似てるクロガネモチです。私の町名は倉賀野町。現在、真っ赤な実をつけ、丈は私の身長より少し高いです。未だ幼木なので、これからの成長が楽しみです。

　実は、昨日の夕方、このクロガネモチを思い切り庭の中でも東南の良い所に植え替えました。もちろん、今の季節は植え替えの時季ではありませんが、根から離したところから掘り出し、土を落とさずに植え替えることができたので枯れることはないでしょう。根の周囲には更に赤玉土と腐葉土を充分に入れ、井戸水を与えました。

　私の秘かな計画は、「庭全体を一枚のキャンパス」と考え、植物による多種の色彩で描こうと思ってます。春から夏にかけては比較的楽に多くの花木が咲きますが、四季を通じても、可能な限り、何らかの花木の植物が咲いて、住んでる私はもちろん、前の道を通過する人の心を潤すことです。

　クロガネモチの良さは冬季の赤い実が特徴ですが、ご覧の通り、常緑樹であり、樹木が成長すればするほど、冬の期間でもバランスの取れた色彩です。しかも、年間を通じて、私たち人間や動物にとって不可欠な光合成を盛んに行います。

Moreover, this plant actively carry out photosynthesis through the year, which is indispensable for us humans and animals.

子供の頃に育てた朝顔を思い出す

　今年は、良い香りのする金木犀の開花が例年に比べて約3週間ほど遅くれて現在開花してます。やはり、地球規模の気候変動の結果かもしれません。

　一方、写真は近所の知り合いの庭に今を盛りに咲いてる朝顔です。昨日の夕方、倉賀野町をウォーキング中に、あまりにもたくさん咲いてるので撮影しました。花弁をよく見ると１０等分に区切られており、色彩が多種で、なかなかきれいなものです。朝顔を見ると明るくパッと咲いてるので、人間まで明るい気持ちになります。

　私は庭で樹木に花が咲く植物のみ育てており、いわゆる草花は育ててません。しかし、これを見て来年から数種の朝顔を育てたい気持ちが高まりました。

　ところで、今日は先日診てもらった皮膚科に再度行くことになってます。嬉しいことに顔にできたシミはなくなりました。朝顔の花は人間の顔のようです。明るい表情は大切ですね。

楽しみな庭の清掃と、その晩の集い

　暑いので額に鉢巻きして朝夕、私は植木に水撒きしてます。その姿をご想像ください。しかし、肝心な植木より、草が伸びてしまいます。

　昨年もそうでしたが、Ａさんはお礼は受け取らない方なので、その代わりに、その晩は我が家で一杯です。二人では寂しいので、我が家の前にある集会所の館長さんもお呼びし、夏の宵を賑やかに過ごそうと思います。季節は進み、後１０日で立秋です。

魅力ある 黄色の枝垂れ レンギョウです。

　枝垂れレンギョウが今を盛りに良く咲いています。亡父が半世紀以上前に仕入れてきたもので、近年、私が玄関の横に植え替えました。

　それにしても、何故、枝垂れるのか不思議です。年々、上の枝からも枝垂れてきます。今日は雨模様なので、植物の世話をしません。何か手持無沙汰です。

一斉に 太陽方向 見て咲いた

 「私たちの季節が来ました。」とばかり、一斉に咲き出した水仙です。不思議なことに、すべてが太陽の方向を見て微笑んでます。

　これらの水仙も半世紀以上前、亡き父が庭のあちこちに植えたもので、近年、私がこの築山に集めました。黄色以外の水仙もあったのですが、自然と黄色に戻るようです。

　それにしても、球根は便利です。時期になると毎年芽が出て咲くからです。私は水をやるだけです。水仙も前の道を通る人たちに愛嬌を振りまいてます。

よい道具 仕事が捗り 庭きれい

　最近、大きな鋸を購入したら、すごくよく切れるので楽しくなり、いろいろの樹木の幹や枝を１０本ほど切りました。切るとその幹や枝を更に長さ２０センチ程に切断し、通常のゴミの中に入れてごみ収集所に出したら、ごみ収集車が持ってってくれました。

　お陰で秋の庭はすっきりし、風通しが良くになり、来春には新芽が吹くでしょう。上の写真は柿の木で、下は金木犀です。それにしても太い木を切ると良い運動になり汗びっしょりです。

　子供の頃の夢は「大工」になることでしたが、どうしたことか方向転換し、「第九」を教えることになりました。

伐採した 幹の重さが 予想を超え

　今日の群馬県は日中、雨が上がり、予定通り、樹齢推定３０年の白モクレンを普通の鋸で切りました。木は意外と柔らかく、それほど苦労をしないで切れましたが、切った幹と枝の重さは予想を超え、推定１００ｋg位あり、倒れるとき「ドスン」と音がし、私が下敷きになって怪我しないように注意しました。

　残った幹には葉がついてるので、次第に枝が出るでしょう。今度はこじんまりと育てます。作業後、私は汗をびっしょり掻き、愛車で吉井ドリームセンターの露呈風呂に入ってきて、さっぱりしました。

雨降って 豊かな緑を 満喫す

　群馬県でも毎日、雨模様で暫く太陽が顔を見せてません。気温も高いので、庭の植物は繁茂し、花のみならず草も生えてます。

築山の 植物生き生き 水浸み渡る

　今朝、群馬は晴れてますが、春の天気は暖かかったり寒かったり変化します。

　築山の一番高い所に池があり、朝晩、満水にします。すると水は築山に浸みて、植物全体を潤します。この池の直径は１ｍほどで深さは２０㎝ほどです。築山では源平しだれ、羽衣しだれが咲き終わり、現在は３本の種類の異なるツツジが咲いてます。球根のグラジオラスも芽が出て来たので、５～６月頃咲くでしょう。
