進歩したのも人間、進歩しないのも人間

　ご覧の二つの石は古代人がクルミなど硬い木の実を砕くために使っていた石器と想われます。下の大きい石は楕円形を成し、まな板のようです。上の小さい石はほぼ球体で、手に持って上から叩いたと想われます。

　数年前に地続きの東の土地を少々購入しましたが、その土地を掘り返していて私が発見したものです。そこは昔、田んぼでしたが、以前の土地所有者が埋め立てしたことがあり、その中に混ざっていたのではないかと思います。

　１万年ほど続いた縄文時代か、あるいは、もっと昔の石器時代に日本人の遠い祖先が使っていたものと推測され、現在、玄関前に飾ってあります。

　いずれにしても、人間がこの世に生まれてからの９９％の期間は石器時代であったと考えるとき、人間は誠に少しずつ発達し、現在に至っていると考えます。

　しかし、大昔も今も変わらぬことがあります。それは他民族を差別したり、脅したり、土地を奪い合う戦争してることです。現代の人間は英知でこれを避けなければなりません。

今年の七夕は 天文的に 8月4日

【夏の大三角と7日目の月】　

　太陽暦で７月７日である今日は天文的に七夕ではありません。明治５年まで続いた太陽太陰暦【旧暦】で７月７日が正しい七夕です。このため、天文学的に正しい今年の七夕は８月４日の夕方です。

　七夕の七の意味は「月の満ち欠けが七日目」ということです。この日の月の形は小舟のようになります。今宵の月の満ち欠けは９日目でお腹が少し膨らんで、小舟の形ではありません。

　現実に、今宵の織姫星【琴座のベガ】と彦星【わし座のアルタイル】は東の空に低くあり、晴れても見難いです。毎年殆ど梅雨の最中で見えません。

　８月４日になれば、織姫星と彦星は見やすい南南東の位置になり、西南の空には７日目の月が二人が乗って天の川を渡る小舟の形になります。

　昔から、七夕の日は先勝と決まってます。今年の８月４日はもちろん先勝です。恋は先勝なのでしょう。

　それにしても、太陽暦が採用されて以来、今年で１４９年になるのに、何故、東京や仙台などでは未だに天文的に意味のない太陽暦の７月７日を七夕にしてるのでしょうか。

今日から 彼岸の入り

　今日は彼岸の入りです。彼岸の中日は春分の日です。この春分の日とは天文学的にどんな意味を持つのでしょう。

　地上の位置を示すには緯度と経度が使われます。一方、天体の位置を示すには赤緯と赤経が使われます。ですから、恒星の位置は固定してるので赤緯と赤経で示すことができます。例えば、七夕でお馴染みの琴座のベガ【織姫星】は赤経18h 36m 56、赤緯+38° 47′ 01です。

　春分の日とは、公転してる地球から見て太陽が赤経０h、赤緯０° の位置を通過する日です。つまり、太陽が天空の位置を示す基準点に来る日です。この位置はインドの形に似た「魚座」のすぐ下(南)で、赤道上空です。しかし、その点を示すものは天空に何もありません。「魚座」は夏から秋にかけて良く見える星座です。

築山の 頂上は池で 水浸み渡る

　急に梅が満開になってるので、順次、多くの植物が芽を出し始めてます。ご覧の築山では２００本ほどの水仙の芽や１０本ほどのチューリプの芽が地上に顔を出して笑ってます。手前にはおよそ２０本の色とりどりのグラジオラスが植わってるので、こちらは開花が初夏のため、芽が出る時期も４月頃と遅いです。

　ご覧の通り、すべての植物に水が行き渡るように築山の頂上を水が溜まる池にしてあり、まるで群馬県の榛名湖のようです。

　こんなことでも亡き両親に感謝です。この水は井戸水だからです。生前、「井戸を潰してはいけない。」と私に言ってました。誠にその通りで、井戸水は無尽蔵に出てきます。しかも、ただです。

　私は井戸水を植木のほか、洗濯と風呂に使ってます。風呂では肌の感触がいいです。

同じ日に 赤と黄色の 似た花咲く

消え失せる 日本の文化 掘り炬燵

　最近ではあまり見かけなくなった掘り炬燵です。ここは８畳の畳の部屋が二間続きで、間には襖と上には欄間があります。外国の方には珍しい日本的なもので、今回、掃除をするため櫓を取り去り、太陽の光を入れました。

今日の太陽の背景は「かに座」と「ふたご座」の間

９月入学は禍根を残す・・・教育が外国より遅れる

　９月入学が話題になってます。しかし、これは子供たちの未来に大きな禍根を残します。この時点で７才になったら小学校入学とのことです。しかし、今まで同級生であっても、７才の誕生日が９月以降の子供は入学できず、再度、幼稚園や保育所に１年行くことになり、親にとっては大混乱です。

　９月以降に生まれた子供たちは本来、同級生であるのに学年が１年下がり、後輩になります。９月入学では、すべての子供たちは高校３年で１９才になり、大学４年で２３才になります。外国に留学するには都合がよくとも、その人数はごく限られてます。

　大学に全員が１年浪人して入るのと同じで、諸外国より教育が遅れます。現在の４月に始まる日本の教育制度は先人による知恵の結晶です。
