今朝は、余りの急上昇に驚く

　群馬県でも殊のほか寒冷な今年の冬です。しかし、庭の植物たちは「私こそ春一番乗り」とばかり、ついに君子蘭が葉と葉の間から蕾を見せ、私にとって希望の光です。庭先の紅梅【品種名・鹿児島】と、アセビも日に日に蕾が大きく膨らみ、果たして、春一番乗りし、開花する植物はどれでしょう。

　一方、今朝起床し、今年になって初めての驚きです。トランプ氏の大統領就任を明日に控え、アメリカ経済が大きく反応し、ＮＹダウは＋７０３ドル、ナスダックも＋４６６ポイントの最近にない急上昇です。延いては、これが物価上昇で冷え切ってる日本経済に波及するでしょうか。毎日、スーパーへ食品の買い出しに行ってる私の支払いも以前の１２０％高になってます。

　寒冷な気候と、現実の厳しい経済状況の中、いつの時代にあっても、植物が蕾を出すように、私たち人間は希望を持って生活しなくてはなりません。特に「未来輝く子供たちのため」に何か役に立ちたいと願ってます。しかし、娘の子供たちとは生活圏が離れているため、日々私は直接役に立てず、その点は寂しいです。

　今日は地元倉賀野小児童のため、下校時の交通指導の日です。「あなたとつくろう子供たちの未来」をスローガンに、黄色いユニフォームを着て交通安全はもとより、挨拶運動を行い、近所の子供たちと交流を図ります。

年末年始をワクワク、ドキドキして過ごせるか

　ところで、今朝のナスダックに合わせたかの如く、金柑が大分色づいてきました。１５年ほど前に植えたのですが、今では、大きく成長しました。写真は樹木の一部です。推定３００個ほど果実が生っているでしょう。これからの寒冷期に実るとは自然は良くできてます。というのは、金柑にはビタミンCが多く含まれ、風邪の症状である喉、鼻などの回復に効果があり、一方、血流を良くすることから血圧安定にも良いとされてます。お近くの方は捥ぎにいらして下さい。いっしょに味わいつつ庭で歓談しましょう。

　私は昼食のデザートとして３個ぐらい食べようと思いますが、すべて食べ切るには春までかかるでしょう。ご存じの通り、金柑は皮ごと丸ごと「噛んで食べられる」便利な果物です。因みに、金柑のことを英語でkumquatと言うようで、発音は「噛む食わっt」に近く、日英で感覚が似てます。

　経済と栄養は健康生活の基盤です。寒さに向かう折、今年もあと二十日。一日一日をワクワク、ドキドキし、身体と精神が錆び付かないようにしたいものです。

一年が 誠に早く 過ぎ去る思い

　今年も残すところ後７４日です。庭は、紅葉から落葉へと向かい、次第に荒涼としつつあります。その中にあって一輪のバラとミカンの黄色が目立ちます。

　特に、大きなサルスベリは未だに一輪二輪咲きつつあっても、同時に、紅葉と落葉が始まってます。７月に咲き始め、その名の通り、百日紅く楽しませてくれました。植物が季節の移り変わりをはっきり教えてくれます。

　子供の頃は一年が本当に長く感じましたが、年を重ねると、何故一年が早く感じるのでしょう。

　しかし、人間の心は興味関心ある物事に集中できれば「充実」という生き甲斐が得られます。生きるための三本柱は「健康づくり」、「記憶力と創造力の増進」、そして「経済への造詣」でしょう。これらは私たちが常に立ち向かうべき基盤です。今日も適度に休憩しつつ、前進できれば良いと思う。
