　今日は二十四節気の「清明」です。平素私たちは宇宙に浮き、公転してる地球の表面で生活してることを意識せず、自分を取り巻く人間社会の中にいて、概して、身近な周囲のことに気を取られ生活してます。私もその一人です。でも、四季折々に開花する花が次々に変化したり、見える星が東から西へ日々少しずつ移動してることにより、私たちを載せた地球は反時計回りに公転してることが実感できます。

　ところで、「清明」の日を迎えた今日、私たちを載せた地球は太陽系を囲む「黄道十二星座」のうち、どの星座の方向に来ているでしょうか。

　ご存じの通り、「黄道十二星座」とは占いなどで使われてる十二の星座です。私たちは自分の星座名を知っていても「実際に誕生日にその星座は見られません。」その理由は、誕生日に自分の星座は太陽の背景に位置しているからです。つまり、日中に出ているのです。例えば、今日４月５日に生まれた人の星座は「牡羊座」です。今日の「牡羊座」は太陽の背景に位置しています。２ヶ月ほどすれば、日の出直前に東の空に低く見えます。または、半年後には深夜に真南に見られます。

　本題です。「清明」を迎えた今日の地球は「黄道十二星座」のうち、どの星座の方向に来ているかは深夜０時に真南に来ている星座です。それは太陽の背景にある前述の「牡羊座」とは１８０°反対の位置にある「乙女座」の方向に私たちの地球は来ています。

啓蟄の今日、日の出は６時０９分、太陽高度は４７°

　今日は二十四節気の一つ「啓蟄」です。そろそろ穴から蟻や小さな虫が地上に出てきます。地球は軌道上を反時計回りに１年約３６５．２４２５日かけて公転してます。この日数を２４等分するとおよそ１５日ごとに二十四節気が回って来ます。

　「啓蟄」は二十四節気で最後ですから太陽黄経は３４５°となり、軌道一周を１日の時間ように考えれば、２３hでもあります。次回は「春分の日」となり、太陽は春分点に達し、２４h、太陽黄経は３６０°になります。

　ところで、私たちを載せた地球は「啓蟄」の今日、１周約９億４千万㎞ある公転軌道上のどの辺に浮いているのでしょうか。私たちの生命は今日、宇宙のどの辺りを漂っているのでしょうか。

　その答えは、深夜０時に真南にある「黄道１２星座」を見ると分かります。黄道１２星座は太陽系の周囲をほぼ等間隔に並んでる星座たちです。日本列島は昨夜から季節風が吹き、今宵は空が澄んでいるのでよく見えるでしょう。そこには北半球で見ると逆さまになった形の「水瓶座」が天の赤道に接してあります。かなり頭上に近いです。つまり、私たちの地球は今日「水瓶座」の方向に来ています。

地球の公転により変化する日の出と日の入り方向

　写真上は、イギリスの有名な遺跡ストーンヘッジで、この巨石群は紀元前2500年から紀元前2000年の間に立てられたと考えられており、驚くべきことは、「夏至の日の出」の方向が高さ6mの玄武岩と、中心にある祭壇石を結ぶ直線上に太陽が昇ることです。このため、当時の設計者は天文学の高い知識があったと考えられてます。

　この現象を見て私が感心することは、先史時代の当時と２１世紀の現代でも地軸の方向に変化がないことです。

　しかし、地球には約26,000年周期で地軸の向きが変化する「歳差運動」があり、そうなると結果的に北極星の位置が真北でなくなるということです。こうなるとストンヘッジにおいても、夏至の日の出の位置に変化が起こるかもしれません。これは私の推測です。

　ところで、下の二つの写真は私が撮影したもので、左は家の三階から撮った「日の出」で、右は荒船山に沈む「日の入り」です。

　昨日から、日の出時刻がほんの少し早くなってます。日の入り時刻は１２月９日頃から遅くなってます。このため、夕方、日が伸びてることが少々実感できるようになりました。

　The photo above shows Stonehedge, a famous archaeological site in UK. This group of megaliths is believed to have been constructed between 2500 and 2000 BC. What's surprising is that the direction of the summer solstice sunrise appears directly between the 6-meter-tall basalt rock and the central altar stone. The original designers likely had a deep knowledge of astronomy.

　What impresses me about this phenomenon is that the direction of the Earth's axis has remained unchanged since prehistoric times, even in the 21st century.

　However, as you know, the Earth's axis undergoes as "precession," which changes direction approximately every 26,000 years. As a result, the North Star no longer aligns at due north. This may lead to changes in the location of the summer solstice sunrise at Stonehedge in the remote future, I guess.

　By the way, the two photos below were taken by me. The one on the left is a sunrise taken from the third floor of my house, and the one on the right is a sunset over Mt. Arafune situated in southwest in Gumma Prefcture.

　Since yesterday, sunrise has been rising just a little earlier. The sunset time has been getting later since around December 9th. Because of this, you can now feel the days getting longer in the evening.

晩夏から初秋へ・・・スズムシの音に魅かれる

　暑い暑いと言っても、今日はついに二十四節気の「処暑」です。庭ではハクモクレンの実がほんの少し赤くなり、すでに、スズムシが一晩中鳴き始めてます。植物や虫たちは人間より先に秋の気配を感じ取ってることが分かります。

　このように季節が変わる理由は、私たちを載せてる地球の「地軸が公転面に対して直角でなく、常に北極星側に２３．５°傾いたまま公転」しているからです。この結果、地上から見る太陽の高さが日々、少しずつ変化しています。現在の太陽は下がりつつあります。群馬県では夏至の太陽高度が頭上に近い７７°でしたが、今日８月２３日では６５°と１２°も低くなってます。因みに、４ヶ月後の１２月２２日の冬至では３０°と大分低くなります。今後は日に日に太陽が低くなります。

　ところで、私たちの地球は「現在、公転軌道上のどの辺に浮いているでしょうか。」宇宙で目安になるものは星座のみです。これは、いつも書いてる通り、黄道十二星座を見て判断します。深夜０時に真南を見れば答えが出てます。「処暑」の今夜のみならず、暫くは図が示す「水瓶座」が天の赤道に底をつけ、頭上近くの真南に出てます。北半球で見ると逆さまですが、南半球では上向きに見えます。

　私たちは毎日、目の前の事象に気を取られながら生活し、浮いてる地球上にいることを忘れがちです。現実は、満月のように暗黒の宇宙にぽっかり浮いてる地球上に生きてます。二十四節気の日や１月１日には自らを載せてる地球は、どこを公転しているか、延いては、自らの命は現在どこに浮いてるか認識したいものです。

　We say it's hot, but today is the beginning of the 24th solar term, "Shosho in our tongue." In my garden, the fruit of the white magnolia is turning a faint red, and the bell-ring crickets have already begun chirping all night. It's clear that plants and insects sense the signs of autumn before humans notice.

　The reason of the seasons change like this is because the axis of Earth is not at a right angle to orbital plane, but it is always tilted 23.5 degrees toward the North Star as it orbits. As a result, the height of the sun as seen from the ground changes slightly day by day. Currently the sun is lowering as seen from Japan situated in northern hemisphere. In Gumma Prefecture, as you know, the sun's altitude at the summer solstice was 77 degrees, nearly overhead. Today, on August 23rd, it is 65 degrees, which is 12 degrees lower. Incidentally, at the winter solstice, four months from now, on December 22nd, it will be significantly lower at 30 degrees. From now on, the sun will be lower with each passing day.

　By the way, where is our Earth on our orbit currently? In the space, the only guide we have is the constellations. As I always write, this can be determined by looking at the 12 zodiac constellations. The answer will be found by looking due south at midnight. Not only tonight, which is the beginning of today' Shosho, but for a while, the constellation Aquarius shown in the diagram will bottom out at the celestial equator and appear due south near overhead. When viewed from the Northern Hemisphere, it appears upside down, but in the Southern Hemisphere, it appears facing upward.

　We live in our daily lives, distracted by the events in front of us, and tend to forget that we live on a floating in the universe. 緯度により太陽の高さが異なる

 国立天文台によると、今日６月１４日の群馬県の日の出は４時２５分で、夏至より今日の方が１分早いです。日の入りは１９時０３分で、こちらは夏至の方が２分遅いです。正午の太陽高度は約７６°ですが、梅雨の最中であり、確認できません。

　しかし、太陽高度については、地球の自転の傾きである２３．４°、及び、住んでる位置の緯度により計算できます。例えば、群馬県高崎市は北緯３６度１９分ですから、北極点９０°－北緯３６°１９′＋地球の傾き２３．４°＝約７６°です。

　昔、滞在してたカルカッタ市では今の季節に、正午の太陽は少し北に出たので不思議な体験でした。北回帰線より南の北緯２２度だからです。と言うことは、インドでは一年を通じて、太陽はほぼ真上から照っており、夏休みである５月の気温は連日４０度を超えてます。正午に外に出ても自分の影がありません。私も「影のない人間になったのか」と思いましたが、そうではありません。影は自分で踏んでるのです。

　一方、今の季節に北極点では、太陽は一日中、沈みません。地球が反時計回りに自転してるので、太陽は時計回りに東～南～西～北へと一周し、その高さは地平線から地軸の傾きの２３.４°で一日中、変わりません。北極圏でも今の季節に太陽は一日中沈まず、北欧などでは白夜が続いてます。反対に、南極では今の季節は昼がなく夜が連続してます。

　このようなことを考えると、私たちは温帯の日本に生まれて本当に良かったです。色彩豊かに花が咲き、果物が生り、四季を通じて会いたい人に会えます。

　According to the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan, today, June 14th, sunrise in Gumma Prefecture is at 4:25, which is one minute earlier than the summer solstice. Sunset is at 19:03 which is two minutes later than the summer solstice. The solar altitude at noon is about 76°, but since we are in the middle of the rainy season, we cannot confirm this.

　However, the solar altitude can be calculated using the Earth's tilt of 23.4° and the latitude of where we live. For example, Takasaki City, Gumma Prefecture, is at 36 degrees 19 minutes north, so the North Pole latitude 90° - 36 degrees 19' north + rotational tilt 23.4° = about 76°.

　When I used to stay at Calcutta in India, it was a strange experience that the sun passed a little north at noon during this season. This is because the latitude there is 22 degrees north　where is more southern than the Tropic of cancer. This means that in India, the sun shines almost directly above throughout the year, and the temperature in May, which is summer vacation, exceeded 40 degrees in Celsius every day. When I went outside at noon, I didn't see my shadow. I thought to myself, "Have I become a person without a shadow in heart?" but that's not the case. My stepped on my own shadow.

　Meanwhile, at this season, the sun doesn't set all day long at the North Pole. As the Earth rotates counterclockwise, the sun makes a full circle clockwise from east to south to west to north, and its height from the horizon remains constant throughout the day at 23.4°, due to the tilt of the Earth's axis. Even in the Arctic Circle, the sun doesn't set at this season of year, and in places in Northern Europe, there are continuous sunshine all day long. In contrast, in the Antarctic, there is no sunshine and only continuous nights at this season of year.

　When I think about these phenomenon, it's really great that we were born in temperate Japan. Colorful flowers bloom, fruit grows, and I can meet the person whom I want to meet throughout the four seasons.

　　

日の出の「時刻と位置」に変化が生じてます。

　今春は花梅の中に暮らしている感じです。玄関へ行くにも紅白の梅のトンネルの中を通って行くようになりました。樹木は年々成長し、今春は本当によく咲いてます。先日写真を載せました「枝垂れ紅梅」が咲いてるは倉賀野で私の庭だけかもしれません。樹形に見応えが生じてきました。一方、色彩に関しては、先日の降雪が功を奏し、却って鮮やかになり、自然は良く出来てます。

　私は園芸に素人ですが、年間を通じて剪定してます。「樹形は一つの芸術である」と捉え、余分な枝を剪定したり、伸ばしたい枝をそのまま育てます。肝心なことは、樹木を「四方八方」から眺めます。これは樹木のバランスに限らず、子供の教育や自分自身の生活など他の分野にも通じることかもしれません。

　ところで、立春のあと三寒四温が繰り返され、今年は特に寒い日が続きました。しかし、１０日後の「春分の日」を目前に、いよいよ春らしくなる気配です。今日の日の出は６時で、太陽高度は驚きの５０°に達します。因みに冬至では３０°でした。毎朝、公園でラジオ体操してるので、日の出が日に日に北に移動してることに気づきます。春分の日は「世界中で太陽は真東から」上がります。

　This spring, I feel like I am living among the blossom of plum trees. Even when I go to the entrance, I have to go through a tunnel of red and white plum. The trees grow year by year, and this spring they are really blooming well. The weeping plum tree I posted a photo the other day may be blooming only in my garden in Kuragano-town. The shape of the tree is becoming more impressive. On the other hand, the recent snowfall has been a blessing, making the colors more vivid, so that nature is doing a good job.

　I am an amateur when it comes to gardening, but I prune the trees throughout the year. I believe that the shape of the tree is an art form, so I prune unnecessary branches and let the branches I want to raise as they are. The important thing is to look at the tree from "all sides". This is not only about the balance of the tree, but it may also be applicable to other areas such as children's education and my own life.

　Not change the subject but after the "RIsshun" that means beginning of spring in Japanese calendar, there were repeated periods of three cold days and four warm days, and this year was particularly cold. 今日で「小寒」が終わります。

　今朝、庭で確認しましたが、紅梅の蕾は大分膨らんできましたが、未だ咲いてません。例年そろそろなので、きっと来週には咲くでしょう。咲いたら写真をアップします。最初に咲くのは品種名「鹿児島」で情熱の深紅です。

　いよいよ今日で二十四節気の「小寒」が終わります。一体、「小寒」とは何でしょう。

　反時計回りに公転してる地球が一周９億４千万㎞(1天文単位×２π)ある公転軌道上のある宇宙空間に差し掛かっていることを言います。深夜０時に真南を見ると、そこには「ふたご座」が輝いてます。今の季節では、すべて１等星で出来てる巨大な「冬のダイアモンド」が日本列島を覆うかのごとく輝いてます。その左上の一角を成すのが「ふたご座」であり、私たちを載せた地球は現在、「ふたご座」の方角にが来ています。これが「小寒」です。

　一方、現在の日本は年間で最も寒い季節です。この理由は何でしょう。

　地軸は常に公転面に対して約２３．５傾斜しているからです。現在、「地軸の先端である北極点が太陽から離れてます。」結果的に北半球では太陽の角度が下がり、今日の正午の群馬県の太陽の角度は地平線に対し３１°です。因みに夏至の頃は７７°です。

　毎日寒くても、私たちは身体を動かし、血流の改善を図ることが大切です。スムースな血流よって新たな事が考えられたり、生活に活気(カッキー)が出て来るでしょう。今日・明日、お気に入り喫茶「さんぽ道」が休みなので家でホットコーヒーを入れ、身体を内部から温めてみます。日中、少し暖かくなったら庭で樹木の世話をし、午後には街に出かけたい。

明朝から日の出時刻が早まります。【群馬県】

　皆さん、今日は西高東低の気圧配置で本当に寒いですね。日の出時刻は１月3日～今日１月９日までが最も遅く６時５６分【群馬県】でした。ところが、嬉しいことに、地球の動きは明日から変化し、日の出が６時５５分に変わります。寒くても春は確実に近づいてます。今後、日の出は日に日に早くなり、２月３日の立春には６時４４分になります。

　一方、日の入りについては、すでに大分伸びて来てることを実感されてるでしょう。日の入り時刻が最も早かったのは１２月４日～１２月８日で１６時２８分でした。今日１月９日の日の入りは先程の１６時４６分でしたから、すでに１８分も陽が伸びてます。今後、日の入りはますます遅くなり、２月３日の立春には１７時１２分となり、１２月上旬の日の入りより４４分も陽が伸びます。

　ところで、今宵の月は上弦の月で、すでに天高くにあります。ご覧くださいね。月の近くには「木星」が輝き、対照的に西南の空には「金星」が輝いてます。なお、今宵の月が西の空に沈むとき、弦が上になるので上弦の月です。それにしても、月面は私の青春時代のようです。

この角度は、一体、何でしょう。

　図は、３０°と７７°の角度を示しています。この角度は、一体、何を表しているでしょうか。

　実はこの二つの角度について、３０°は今の季節【１月２日正午】の地平線からの太陽の角度【群馬県】を示してます。一方の７７°は夏至の頃の正午の太陽の角度です。太陽の高さは季節によってずいぶん差があることが分かります。

　結果的に、現在、窓から差し込む太陽光は部屋の奥にまで届いており、これは正午の角度ですから、午前や午後には、より奥まで太陽の光が差し込みます。このため、冬は部屋の奥まで陽が当たり、部屋全体が温かくなる自然の有難さを私たちは日常生活で体験してます。

　ところが、この太陽の光が室内の奥に置いてある「めがね」や鏡、水の入ったペットボトル、金属類などに長時間当たると、場合によっては、それが「凸レンズの役目を果たし」、太陽光が一点に集中し、高熱となり、そこに燃えやすいものがあると自然発火の可能性があります。これから未だ、暫くの間は部屋の奥まで太陽光が届くので、カーテンを閉めたり、前述の物をしまったり、光が当たらないようにして、火災を未然に防ぎましょう。

　ところで、季節による太陽光の角度の差は７７°－３０°＝４７°あります。この４７°を２で割ると２３．５°となり、この度数は、丁度、北回帰線と南回帰線の緯度に等しいです。

　Actually, regarding these two angles, 30° represents the angle of the sun from the horizon at noon on January 2nd (Gumma Prefecture). On the other hand, 77° is the angle of the sun at noon around the summer solstice. We can see that the height of the sun varies greatly depending on the season both of summer and winter.

　As a result, the sunlight that currently shines through the window reaches deep into our room, and since this is the angle at noon, the sunlight penetrates deeper particularly in the morning and afternoon. For this reason, in winter, we experience the gratitude of nature in our daily lives, as the sun reaches deep into the room and warms the entire room.

「小雪」における地球の公転上の位置

　昨日は二十四節気の一つ「小雪」でした。宇宙空間に浮き、太陽の周囲を秒速約２９ｋｍのスピードで反時計回りに公転してる私たちを載せた地球は「小雪」の日に、９憶４千万㎞ある公転軌道上の一体どの辺を周遊中でしょうか。これを知るには「午前0時に真南を見る」ことです。

　最近、空気が澄んで来たので星がよく見えるようになりました。すべて一等星で形作られてる「冬のダイアモンド」は現在、日本列島の頭上に来ています。その６角形のダイアモンドの一番下に「おおいぬ座」の「シリウス」が一際明るく輝いてます。その右上に有名な「オリオン座」があり、「オリオン座」のすぐ上に「牡牛座」の一等星「アルデバラン」が輝いてます。

　この「アルデバラン」が今の季節の午前０時に、真南に輝いてますから、「小雪」の日に地球は「アルデバラン」の方向に差し掛かっています。そのすぐ右上に星の塊である「スバル星団」も確認できます。こちらは南西諸島のほぼ頭上です。私たちを載せた地球は現在どの辺を通過中であるか意識すると、次々変わる星空の景色が見られ、季節も感じられて楽しいものです。地軸が２３．５°傾いたまま公転してることで、これから北半球は真冬となり、南半球は真夏になります。

We earthlings float in space and revolve around the sun counterclockwise at a speed of about 29 km per second. On the 940 million km orbit of the Earth, where is the earth carrying us on the day of "Syohsetsu"? To find out, we had better look due south at midnight.

　Recently, the air has become clearer, so the stars are easier to see. The "Winter Diamond," which is made up of all first-magnitude stars, is currently overhead in the Japanese archipelago. At the very bottom of this hexagonal diamond, Sirius in the constellation Canis Major shines particularly brightly. To the upper right of that is the famous Orion, and just above Orion shines the first-magnitude star Aldebaran in the constellation Taurus.

　This Aldebaran shines due south at midnight during this season, so on the day of "Syohsetsu" the Earth is approaching the direction of Aldebaran of Taurus. Just above and to the right of that you can also see the Pleiades star cluster. This is almost overhead of the Southwestern Islands. If you pay attention to where the Earth is currently passing, you can see the starry sky changing one after another, and you can feel the seasons, which is fun. As the Earth revolves around the Sun with its axis tilted at 23.5 degrees, it will soon be mid-winter in the Northern Hemisphere and mid-summer in the Southern Hemisphere.
